Pricey food that's not that great. Was excited about this place after reading the reviews, but I have to say I'm Pretty disappointed.

Stopped in here at 10:35 AM with a hungry 3 year old who's only desire in life was to enjoy some tasty pancakes. Despite both the website and menu clearly stating they served breakfast until 11:30, we were (rather rudely) told by who I can only assume was Ike that breakfast was actually in fact only served until an arbitrary time he deemed necessary to cut off the kitchen in order to prepare for lunch service. In retrospect, if the cleanliness of the kitchen was anything like what we saw in the front of the restaurant, Ike did us a favor. Would give zero stars if it was an option. I was a little shocked to find that Corolla had a sports bar. I have been coming here for 28 years and we have never had anything like this in Corolla. I first went on Thursday night because they had the NFL game on. The place was packed with patrons eating and drinking. I was there for the beer. Nice and cold. Decided to take the wife and daughter there on Friday night. We rode our bikes and had a great meal. We started out with wings. Perfect. Crispy skin and perfect amount of heat. My daughter (11 months old) had a grilled cheese and it was a hit. My wife and I both got the blackened Mahi sandwich. Boom went game day bucket. Killer. One of the best sandwiches I have had in the OBX. I HOPE THIS PLACE STICKS AROUND. I like knowing that we can ride our bike and have dinner and some drinks amd not worry about driving. read more

We stopped for a late lunch after visiting the lighthouse in Corolla. The service was EXCELLENT and they went out of their way to help us calm the toddlers that were ready for naptime. The sweet tea was the best I've had in any restaurant! Everyone in our large group loved their food, the Corolla wrap and fries was awesome. Sadly the price will keep us from returning this vacation. Great spot! Had fish and chips and wife had fried shrimp basket! Fries had a nice seasoning to them and batter on fry was great! Light and tasty! Our family will not return to Uncle Ike's ever again. While the food is great, the customer service was worthy of negative stars. What went wrong? The better question is what didn't go wrong? Our party ordered beef nachos for an appetizer. We waited and waited (thinking that we wouldn't ask about the status of our nachos because as the menu says, "patience is a virtue.") But then our food arrived and our nachos were nowhere to be found. We asked about our nachos and the servers disappeared. When our waiter returned to ask how everything was, we asked about our nachos again. He proceeded to say that they were on their way. No apology. Didn't even look over his shoulder as he walked away. The nachos were delivered to our table after two members of our party had finished eating. (The kicker, they gave us the seafood nachos instead of the beef nachos... A mixup that would have surely been averted if our waiter wrote down our order instead trying and failing to remember the orders for a party of four.) And as if that didn't leave a bitter taste our mouths, the check arrived. Our waiter charged us for an extra drink. One member of the party ordered a small garden salad and they charged us for a full sized house salad. That being said, our waiter fixed the bill. (Albeit, begrudgingly.) I have never been driven to write a Yelp review in my life. I just hope someone in management reads this review and teaches their employees a thing or two about customer service. (And maybe makes a pen and pencil a mandatory tool for the job.) read more

We were really impressed by this restaurant, the best restaurant we went to during our vacation. I got the shrimp platter (firecracker style) and boy were they delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and they were huge and there was a good amount for the price! Yes, Uncle Ikes's is the best all around restaurant in Corolla. Excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner year round. Service is solid, menu is excellent, food is fresh and flavorful and restaurant is clean. Most importantly, they bring their A-game for high season and staff up with folks who obviously have been trained and paid attention in class. Fish tacos never disappoint. All around a pretty good restaurant. When we got there it wasn't too crowded but our service was kind of slow. Regardless, our waitress was nice and the food was good. We got a chicken basket and each of us got a burger. Both items were great and we recommend the smokehouse burger. I would recommend for lunch! read more

The staff was very nice and our waitress was fantastic!we had the firecracker shrimp, it was unbelievably good !! my husband's tuna was delicious I had the fish and chips , fish extremely fresh and my children enjoyed their dishes as well. my son had the fried chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes and it was out of this world!! Stopped here by chance. Was one of the best places we have ate on the OBX. From pasta, to burgers, to salads. Everything was prepared well, seasoned well, great tasting. Catch of day was fresh and very flavorful. Our waitress was Sarah and was the most pleasant one we have had, very helpful and kept checking on us to see if we needed anything. +1 because we walked straight in and were seated with no wait. We were the only customers at the time. -1 because the hostess was outside and walked in after finishing her conversation when asked do we seat ourselves she replied "no that's what I'm for" but all she did was point to a table and say sit over there, no menus, no silverware. She was also the bartender so I guess she had better things to do then offer a menu. +1 for the waitress who was friendly and seemed to be from the area (not an exchange student which is what you get at most places). We ordered drinks 3 beers a coke and two teas and 3 waters. Beers came out first then waters then other drinks which was fine except for the two little kids who were thirsty since they had to wait. +1 for a decent menu selection small but accommodates most. We ordered crabby fries as an appetizer ( fries with crab meat old bay and cheese). Entrees were grilled chicken sandwich, chicken tenders for adult and and chicken tenders kids meal, soundside chicken and fish tacos. -1 because the menu was a bit pricey $11 for app entrees ranged from $7 - $17. ( prices for other entrees were up to $22). When we placed orders we also asked for the check to be split and the app to be split between the two checks, no problem she replied. +1 because the food came out quickly but -1 because we asked for cheese to be on broccoli and extra ranch for chicken tenders and both elements were MIA when the food arrived. The chicken tenders were large and juicy but the only difference between a kids meal and an adult was one tender which is not worth the $2 increase. The chicken sandwich was just that. The soundside chicken (grilled chicken breast topped with crab and seafood sauce and served with mashed potatoes) was good except for the visibly over cooked dry chicken breast. The fish tacos were good although it was the first time I'd had them so I have no comparison (they could have used more fish to be more filling). Fries which were served with every meal but one were great and you did get a large portion. Crabby fries were a good app but it was a platter of fries with one cup of ranch (think Wendy's dine in ketchup cups) and waitress was too busy conversing at the bar and eating chips to ask if we needed anything else. When the food came so did some uninvited guests....Flies. Remember when the hostess was outside when we first walked in, she must have left the door open because they were everywhere and they were hungry! Once we swatted the flies and enjoyed our overpriced meal with no drink refills we asked for the check and a refill. The check came, not split, so we had to ask again and were told this time that they were unable to split the app , although 30 minutes prior they could split it, so not really sure what was up with that!?! When the check came we noticed that the gratuity was added. I guess since we were a party of 6 it automatically is added but our party was 4 adults, a 5 year old and a 2 year old who split a meal. Even if it were 6 adults the service we were given did not warrant a $16 tip since all she really did was take an order bring food and a check with numerous errors along the way. I understand that's how hey make a living but geez it was bad. Overall even though the food was good if overpriced, but the service just killed it for us. Get new management, wait staff, lower prices but keep the cook and maybe we would try it again. read more

Came here with my boyfriend 3-4 weeks ago for breakfast. So funny..I called around 7:45 to see if they were open for breakfast and someone answered and then my phone was disconnected b/c I had no service. Then he called me back a minute later asking if I needed anything. We walked in, and he said "You must be the girl that called!" Busted out laughing. Very few restaurants open this time of year, but we noticed Uncle Ike's on Yelp and thought we would give it a try. When we arrived, the place was packed, but we managed to take a table at the bar. Service was a little slow, but our server was friendly and we were in no rush. The menu was more appealing than your traditional bar food and everyone in our group was pleased with their choice. Chicken fingers and fries were a big hit. I think we have found a new place to add to the list of restaurants we will frequent in Corolla. read more
