Good food and music but, AWFUL SERVICE. I am a regular there and can get over the service, but last night's visit was awful! After we closed our tab at 10:00PM last night, we tipped and were finishing up our drinks, we asked what time they were closed because the bar was cleared up. A gentleman behind the bar who was cleaning said 10PM, then the female bartender working that shift, with her back facing us said in a loud voice, "YES PLEASE LEAVE!" We couldn't believe what we had just heard. She realized we heard her, because she was right in front of us and loud, she walked away with her purse and was in such a hurry to leave. I would do a better job of training your staff on what customer service really is and the importance of it. read more

Excellent food and amazing service! I can't remember the servers name but she was quick and had given my mom extra jalapeños roasted whole and chopped since without us asking. This was our first time going and we will definitely be going again and making this our Mexican food place! The food was delicious! I had the Jalisco Fajitas and the steak was absolutely delicious with its seasoning and had so much flavor!!! The chicken and shrimp were just as excellent. I also got a raspberry margarita which was delicious and was slightly sour/tart! I love this place. It's my favorite thing in one loudoun. I guess people may say that's crazy but I don't really care. The guacamole with pineapple, bacon, and queso is amazing. The tacos are simple, but also amazing. They have plenty of great stuff on the menu, and yet, I dream about the tacos sometimes. The ground beef recipe has something really special to it. Update: I was really excited to see that they were going to start delivering, but a little note to anyone seeking to use this feature: there is a convenience fee tacked on that you need to look out for because it is a percentage of the bill. I was about to order $66 worth of food for delivery and then, when I went to check out, I noticed the tab was $90. There was about $25 dollars in convenience charge added at the end. Beware. I don't understand why the fee is such a big chunk (roughly 33%). It seems like a huge deterrent. read more

Watermelon margarita was good, as always. The reason for the three stars was cause our waitress took forever on everything. My friend also had a piece of hair in her cheese and the waitress didn't apologize or anything. She smiled in a weird way... and then said she would get her a new one. First of all... don't smile, it's not funny that she had a piece of hair in her food. We were sitting there for so long at one point we forgot that we had to pay for our meals. We have come here since they first opened. It has only gone down hill. The LACK of proper training truly shows here. We weren't even really greeted when we walked in. Three people continued to stay in conversation at the hostess station. No one could look up to say hello at first. And one person stayed on her phone. The restaurant was not very clean and the bathrooms were atrocious. The food is not what it used to be. It took our waitress four times to remember the to go containers. Luckily, there are plenty of other options at Loudoun One. There was eight of us in our party tonight, and we're all in agreement we won't be returning anytime soon. This place is awful. Their drinks used to be the saving grace but they've since become watered down sugar water. You don't need to pay $12+ for that. The food is hit or miss. We've received everything from undercooked chicken to overcooked/dry beef, depends on the day I guess. I came to this location with a large party for a friend's birthday celebration on a Saturday night. I honestly can't say enough about the great service we received! There were 8 of us and the restaurant was pretty busy, as expected. The chips and salsa came out immediately and the server took our drink orders right away. I ordered the Carne Adas's and it was fabulous! Perfectly cooked medium-rare as I requested. The guacamole, sour cream, and additional items that came with it were fresh and delicious. Everyone else in the party enjoyed there meals and had no complaints. The drinks had a good amount of alcohol and were served promptly. I really enjoyed this visit especially because of the great service considering how busy they were. I've had their tacos, salsa, guacamole, carne asada, and enchiladas. All fantastic! The salsa is addicting and I could honestly eat their chips and salsa as a meal in itself. I LOVE this place! read more

If I could've given this place, less than one stars I would have. I have eaten in this restaurant many times, and the cleanliness has continued to deteriorate. Recently I entered this restaurant and was seated by a very friendly manager. When we walked outside the tables he wanted to seat me at were covered in dozens of flies, so finally he sat me at a table on the other side of the patio. The floors on the patio were so filthy, they smelled like the inside of an old dumpster. I sat there for about 10ish minutes and not one server approached me, and offered me water or anything else. As I was waiting, I started looking around and decided that I didn't want to eat there in filth and I got up and left. My advice to this restaurant would be to go ahead and spend $50-$100 and buy a power washer to power wash the patio at least once a week, or even better yet hire me as a manager and I'll get that place looking spectacular and fill it with hungry customers!! read more

This use to be one of my favorite restaurants! I would not recommend anyone to go here anymore. I went to dine in yesterday and the was waiter was incredibly rude and aggressive towards us. When I ask to speak with the lady manager she also was very rude and made up a blatant lie so that she could ask us to leave. Neither the server or manager wanted to give me their names for corporate. They embarrassed and humiliated us purposely. I've heard of the servers there picking and choosing who to serve due to race. I would not recommend eating here esp with your children or family. read more

Great location, and easy to get a last minute reservation. The food is average Tex mex, not astounding but certainly good for a wide range of pallets. While we have been to this location several times and to their others many times. This is the worst service across all visits. We were promptly seated and drinks and appetizers were quickly ordered and delivered. Their chips were extra oily so we ordered a replacement....and this is where things started falling apart. As they brought the replacement chips(still oily) they knocked my coke over and it spilled over my shorts and floor, thankfully it was nearly empty. Not a big deal and the 2 staff reacted with an "oh I'm sorry expression" to which I expected a quick cleanup.... nope. After 5 or 10 minutes I called another staff over to explain that a drink was spilled over me and the floor, I got a napkin and the floor stayed covered in now half melted ice. After waiting an overly patient amount t of time we asked for drink refills, and she started pouring water into my coke and into my wife's seltzer water, we corrected her and she disappeared to get the drinks Needless to say the rest of the meal 1. Took and extreme amount of time and 2. Required us to flag down random servers and ask for individual items that normally would have anticipated or fixed upon a quick "how is everything?" Or "can I get you anything?" I know this is unusual for uncle julios and this location, but service was abysmal and will need to seriously consider if we come again. read more

If you like bland, Americanized, watered down, white washed Mexican food - this is your spot. The bartender was nice and his margarita was fantastic but the food was subpar. We're probably the last people in Loudoun County to try Uncle Julios. It just seems like the lines are always crazy long and not worth the wait. Well, on a week night, a friend wanted to take my wife and me out to dinner and suggested Uncle Julios. Since my friend and I first met in college in San Diego, I took this as high-praise for a Mexican restaurant. I enjoyed the light and crispy chips. The salsa and guacamole were good, too, but the chips weren't really strong enough to scoop any of the guacamole. I had the enchiladas and they were delicious. I thought the food was very good and the service was prompt and professional. I would love to eat here again, but I still wouldn't say it's worth waiting in the average long line here. read more

I would give 0 if I could. We went for homecoming dinner, I sat at the bar so my son could enjoy dinner with his friends. Upon trying to leave, the other large party is struggling meeting the 700 minimum the restaurant set for them (before taxes/gratuity). They booked this reservation knowing full well the group was minors too. If I could give them zero stars, I would. My family has ordered from this location for years, and when I went to pick up my food, the staff was unpleasant and rude. The pickup time was 6:39 pm, and I arrived at 6:50 pm. I gave the host my name, and she looked at the shelf behind her, and said my order wasn't there. Then she asked my name again, so I gave it to her and even showed her the confirmation email, which included the pickup time and the spelling of my name. Again she looked and said my order wasn't there. Then a second host came forward and asked for the same information, she too looked at the shelf and said it wasn't there. Then another person showed up and told me my food wasn't ready, and that I had to wait for another 15 minutes. I asked him why there was such a delay, when I had already given them an 11 minute margin. He said the kitchen times don't match up with the pickup times, to which I responded that seemed unlikely and inconsistent with the entire pickup economy. Then another host rudely told me to "step aside." Finally, a manager came forward, asked for my name, and pulled my order from the middle of the shelf and apologized. I told him his staff was unpleasant, unhelpful, and rude. The entire experience took about 5 minutes. I won't be visiting this location again. read more

We got Uncle Julios take our during the Covid 19 quarantine. We ordered the steak fajitas for two, chips and queso, and two margaritas. Ordering online was a breeze and their drive up operation was simple and super quick. We loved the fajitas, especially the homemade tortillas. Portions were very generous and we had leftovers for the next day. The queso was a little bland and I found myself wishing I had ordered the guacamole instead. Margaritas were small, but quite strong. We will definitely order takeout from Uncle Julio's again in the future and look forward to dining in the restaurant when we are able. read more

Extremely poor experience last night, all based on rude and unprofessional staff, we left before even ordering a drink. We've been to Uncle Julio's of varying locations countless times and it's been one of our go-to spots. The host, and the waiter, were so rude, we will not be going back to this location again, instead we spent out money down the street at B1 and had a good meal. This is all because we asked to sit at 1 of 2 open tables on the patio that were in the sun. This request was denied twice (and rudely). The host told me he would check with the manager, and blatantly did not bother, instead just took us out to a table nowhere near where we requested. I would estimate about 4-5 tables of 20-30 on the patio, were occupied. The denial seemed completely ridiculous. The manager even watched us walk out before ordering any food. It may seem trivial, but at the time was important as we had a toddler, and 6 year old with us and needed a little room and preferred the sun. If it the restaurant was not dead-empty, we would've taken whatever they chose. I've worked in a restaurant and know very well, that you can sit someone at another table if they're open. Instead I got a bunch of attitude from a teenage host and worse attitude from the waiter. Perhaps management should be paying attention to their yelp page working on getting their rating up from 3 stars. read more

So a very busy place, but we got seated right away. We ordered the queso dip ask if they could make it not spicy. It was very good, but spicy. I ordered the carnitas. Dried over cooked flavorless chunks of pork. I smoke pulled pork and believe I could make a significantly better carnitas taco. First off the pork needs to be overcook through low temp cooking. Cooking pork shoulder takes 10 to 12 hours at 250 F. These were cooked at a high temp and thus where dried out before frying. Would never recommend the carnitas here. Other than that the wait staff was really good. This is just another example of someone following a corporate recipes of a chef that doesn't know how to properly cook good food. Loudoun county again is a desert of good restaurants in the Metro DC area. read more

Everytime I visit this location I'm always disappointed. It consists takes at least 15 minutes to get any beverage to the table. We're lucky if the server stops by the table four times throughout the visit. It usually takes the server 5-10 mins to greet us. The last time I went to this location, i was meeting three friends that were already seated. When I told the host the reservation name, she pointed to the back of the restaurant and said "they're somewhere back there. Its ridiculous. I'd recommend to take a look at the gainesville location. Great restaurant. Loved the food, the service, the music, and the decor. Place was clean and made you hungry as you went in. Chips and dips they give as appetizers are great and obviously freshly made. The food was also very good. I had the steak and chicken fajita. The steak could be better if it was a bit less cooked but it was still juicy. The one thing that I regret is ordering too much. I usually don't mind high price for good food but here the food was good but the quantity was very large too! I hope there could be less expensive dishes with less quantity. Oh I am so disappointed. We visited Uncle Julios for hubbys birthday in February and decided to go back for Mother's Day... and our second trip was pretty lame. They were out of scratch flour tortillas (their claim to fame). It was slow service (and really not that busy when we were there). I think our server was new. He disappeared for long stretches at a time. Our food came out in "shifts". My son was served the wrong thing. My daughter's meal came out in multiple trips from the kitchen that were staggered so much that by the time she got the tortillas for her fajitas the fajita meat was cold. Before the tortillas arrived we asked for a manager and "Travis" came, he did not even make eye contact or introduce himself, and he just brought us tortillas. We weren't sure he was a manager until we asked our waiter who told us he was and what his name was. We had to send my daughter's meal back because it was cold and they must have put it in the microwave because when it came back out it was rubbery - so rubbery she couldn't eat it. The saving grace (the 2nd star) was the other manager who was on duty. I think his name was Alex or Alan. VERY nice, VERY responsive (too bad he stepped in so late). He did finally put things back on track and for that I am grateful. So it's 2 stars instead of 1, and I promised I will be back again to hopefully be able to give them another review - another good review I hope! read more

Me and a friend both got fajitas and both finished them (Usually I have lots of fajitas leftover, especially when I pay $25+ for them). My other friend ordered Shrimp diablo - what a complete joke. It's five salt and peppered shrimp. Where is the red sauce? Maybe a red pepper flake?? Call this entree something else. Drinks were good - only reason for 2 stars. Tableside guac was just okay - it needed more ingredients in it, was bland. El Jefe drink is worth the price. Overall, I live close but have no desire to come back.
