Sorry, Uncle Mac, but we have some constructive feedback for you. The food was too salty. The flavors of the sauces were delicious, so don't let them be overshadowed by salt. The grilled fish was overdone. It could do with less cooking time. We did enjoy the fish burger; it was like a luxurious filet-o-fish! The texture of the fish in the burger and the breading were perfect. Overall, that was very satisfying. We were expecting the tom yum fries to be spicy and bursting with lime, galangal, and other flavors, but on their own, they just tasted salty. They really needed the accompanying sauce, which was flavorful but again too salty. After our meal, we did not feel well that night. Overall, it was not a great first experience. Service was great! Server was helpful. Casual restaurant serving limited fish entrees. Portions are just right. Our fishes were fresh and tasted great. I had the opportunity to visit this restaurant. First, I must say that this is a pescatarian's dream. Seafood heaven. The customer service was wonderful. I ordered the Fried Trout Plate. It came with garlic noodles and steamed vegetables. I will say that the Trout was the star of the plate. It was fried to perfection. The garlic noodles definitely needed more garlic. They actually just reminded me of noodles with Alfredo sauce on them. Lacked flavor. The steam vegetables were rather basic. The fried fish sandwich or "fish burger" is a 10/10. It's like a fancy higher quality Filet O Fish served with freshly fried potato chips. Fish was lightly battered, crisp, and piping hot. Tartar sauce and the green (chimichurri maybe?) sauces were really tasty as well. Tom Yum Sidewinder Fries were a little over-seasoned but still very delicious and I'd order again. Inside is bright and clean with a serve your own water and condiments section. Two bathrooms are well maintained and clean as well. Parking is tough because of the overall busy-ness of the plaza but this place deserves a lot more patrons, food is really good and I wish them success! read more

I will dare to say that it's better than Taco Nazo. Yeah. I said it. I'm standing on Fish Taco business. When you try it with the magical 'green' salsa and the umami slaps you in the back of your throat you will know what I'm talking about. Go. Get the Fish Taco. Great service. I usually go for the salmon plate with garlic noodles but this dish did not disappoint it was delicious. I come here often because usually it is empty and I love that it isn't packed. The food is always fresh and delicious, especially their green sauce, which I wish can be bottled. I grew up with going to McDonald's and having their Fish Filet but Uncle Mac's is 10000 better and I always get the fish sandwich or the fish and chips. So so good. Ambience is laid back, with music that isn't too loud. Everything is clean and I just don't get why Boiling Point is worth the 1hr wait. Plus, you can smell how dirty Bowling Point is, it's like they never clean that place. Since it is lent period, I am looking for place that serve good seafood. I find this new place while my son is having fencing comp around Torrance area. The restaurant looks legit and foods look appetizing. When ordering the grilled Swai plate, they tell me that they change the spicy garlic sauce to regular, my wife is a little disappointed. They should have stuck with the original rather changing it, just too bad. I also order the fish and chips, Cod fish burger and a side of garlic noodle. The noodle has a great amount of garlic taste, however, it is bland. All the fishes are fresh, no fishy smell or taste, which is great. By the way, I order everything to go and I live in SGV area. The portabello tacos are the bomb!! They are seasoned well with a light batter - and the crunch does not disappoint. Oh!! You need the Yom Yum fries!! Uh-Ma-Zing! I love that this is a family owned restaurant, I can feel the love in the food and the care in the details of the decor. I have been wanting to try Uncle Mac's kitchen and today was the day. Since we don't eat meat during Lent on Fridays I decided to order from here since they have many seafood options. All the food was delicious! The sauces are homemade and all I have to say is they're scrumptious! That green sauce is spicy but really good. Their tarter sauce (I think that's what it was, the sauce with specks of green in it) is addicting and wish I ordered extra of it. Here is what we ordered. Fish and Chips plate (their chips are actually homemade chips and not fries) Fried catfish and chips plate I subbed chips for sweet potato fries Uncle Mac's fish and shrimp plate Salmon burger Zucchini fried Garlic toast Tom yum sidewinder fries (these are dangerously addicting! I have tried the Georges fish tacos, the salmon plate, the fish sandwich, and the fish & shrimp chips. All of it was outstanding. This is owned by the people who use to own the restaurant before, I forget the name now but they stuck with their original green sauce which pairs great with all their food. The chips are really good too. The server is nice and chill. I come here often because my son and I share the salmon plate and I get 1 taco to a total of 25 dollars, feeds us both! read more

Haven't eaten or tried it in like 20+ years. The chefaroni J was like, "you should try ours", but in a way that was hella cool. Dude was chill, looked me in my eyes and gently guided me to better life choices. It HIT. But there's a green chili Thai sauce that they sprung on me to mix with the tartar. Listen. Mix them and pour it over the cabbage. HIT-TING-AH. You can probably imagine, the service was delightful. Establishment was clean. Air was crisp. Floor clean. Walls clean. Minimalist and friendly vibe. Bathroom was spotless - like, I didn't even wanna mess it up (think of how you treat your grandma's bathroom). So back to the Shrimp burger. Light. Crispy. Tasty local restaurant rooted in Gardena. Definitely recommend the fish sandwich and chips. It was made fresh and was worth the cost. The fish breading was nice and crunchy even after taking it home. The fish itself was moist and a great size. The chips had great flavor by itself and was even better with the tartar sauce! The manager and person at the register were nice and polite. Their sizes are amazing, the only problem was the vegetables were not steamed hard as I requested. I would like my vegetable soft, but if you like them hard, you will love the way they make them. You get three large pieces of fish, three sauces ( tartar, vinegar and what she called their green sauce) with the potato chips. All the sauces were delicious! First time here and it won't be my last! I had the shrimp burger, and it was so delicious!! Perfectly crispy, great flavor, and well portioned. It came with 3 sauces and the green one in particular is just so good! I could have poured it all over my burger and the freshly made chips. Service was also worth bragging about. When had gone after a month of them being opened and was curious how the food would be I was nervous to get the fish tacos cause they could be a hit or miss but I have to say they are one of the best I've had!! I keep coming back for more! My bf loves the fish burger from here! And their homemade potato chips that they offer as a side! They are nice and crisp! The place is very nice and clean! Was driving thru the area and saw this gem. When i got into the plaza i noticed it was occupying my go to thai bowl spot if i dont want to drive down to Tokyo central. Was sad walking in but saw a familiar face. Same family group of owner so I was happy since they make good good food. I guess they were consolidating and bringing new in new style of flavor which i dig. I ordered the Swai Entrée with garlic noodle, fish and chips and tom yum fries. The manager lady at the front was very helpful in taking order and letting me know the new menu Swai Entrée delicious good portions. A really nice dinner portion. Noodles had a nice garlic sauce to it and the fish was seasoned nice. Vegetables and bread were whatever, i was here for the fish not really the side. Fish and chips were delicious and good portioned also. The batter on the fish was light and crispy and not drenched in oil when biting into it. I felt like i was eating healthy how lite the batter was while still getting the crispy crunch. I like the chips are potatoes cut like chips instead of fries. Wish they were a little more crisper but it was okay. Tom yum fries so good. If i could have that as my chips with the fish and chips that would be the chef kiss. Maybe you might be able to order it that way but i ordered separately because i wanted to make sure it was good. And it was. Uncle Mac's Kitchen family owned business that is located in the Tozai Plaza in Gardena California which specializes in various fish and seafood plates, dishes and tacos! btw their corn tortillas are made fresh in-house which are amazingly soft and thin. 1. The Shrimp Taco Plate aka (The Chino) - Has Two battered shrimp tacos, cabbage, onion, tomato Cilantro, and crema with a side of their Cilantro sauce which is a must giving it a tangy, savory and slight kick with the use of the flavorful Thai chiles . It accompanied by their black beans and rice pilaf that goes with everything on their menu. 2. Whole trout fish plate is a crispy on the outside flaky on the inside fried trout which is seasoned with their tom yum flavor. It's a must you have this with their signature cilantro sauce which elevates it. Again you have a choice of their rice pilaf or their garlic noodles which had a great prominent garlic taste balanced with its creamy Alfredo like sauce. Whoever made this combo was a genius. 3. Tom yum sidewinder fries are unique cut fries also seasoned with their tom yum not only giving it that savory tangy flavor but the crisp almost gives it a double fried vibe which deserves to be paired with some Alaskan cod 4. Salmon Burger - what it says and it comes with a salmon filet, lettuce, red onions, dill pickles, mayo on a soft potato bun. It deserves a squeeze of lemon prior to sinking your teeth into it and a bonus is it is accompanied with their homemade potato chips , fresh and hot. BEST new casual, seafood spot in Gardena! It's def Long Beach Fish Grill 2.0. Talkin about the OG one in Long Beach, of course. Kathy greeted us and broke down the menu for us so that we were able to make the best decision for what we were in the mood for. She was so friendly and helpful. I got the fish burger and it was the largest, juiciest, and softest fried cod I've ever had. I was overwhelmed. In a good way. The tom yum fries/wedges were *chef's kiss* but I wasn't expecting the onion rings to be SO GOOD! My partner got the shrimp burger and I'm still fantasizing about it. Paired with the Thai spicy seafood sauce (I also mixed it with the tartar)- I can honestly say I've never tasted anything like it. I actually put it on everything I ate and I'm hooked. Everything was so good, I went back 3 days later for the tacos and brought some friends- delectable. Like mentioned, reminded me of the old LB Fish Grill that I've been missing for YEARS now and it did not disappoint. The quality of the seafood is top notch. That spicy seafood sauce, though! Upgrades everything. I'm already planning what I'm having next time- the whole fish for sure. The garlic noodles- addictive. Just the right amount of creaminess and pairs with everything. The charm of this spot though, is the beautiful inspiration behind all this- which is a tribute to (Uncle) Mac, the man who started it all (the OG LB Fish Grill). it was me and my boyfriend's first time here and IT. DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT. we got there at 7:57 and they still took our orders for dine in even though they closes at 8pm. The ambiance is pleasant in the eye, it's aesthetic/minimalist type. Although the foods were limited, they were SOOO GOOD! I liked their shrimp-patty burger as well as the fish and chips AND their dipping sauces!
