I came here because my grandma and grandpa used to come here and we had to wait 10-15 minutes for seats which isn't a problem except there were seats open, we sat down and we didn't get our menus until 10 minutes after sitting a nice lady took our drink orders shortly after and I ordered a water n there was baby flies in the water I exchanged it for another water and there was another thing in the water I got it out it was fine and when we got our food I got the ribeye steak with eggs n other things, the eggs were orange which I don't think is normal.. and there was a hair on my eggs. I've been here before. The service is good. The place is clean. I usually have breakfast. Today I worked from 5am till 2pm and wanted something good. So I was gonna have a tuna fish sandwich but the nice waitress told me there was onions in the tuna, so I opted for the fish sandwich which was fried. I hate onions. So I tipped $5 bucks because I appreciate not accidentally having to eat something I don't like. So I took my order to go. When I started eating my sandwich I was talking to someone and preoccupied with the conversation so I had my polite manners on. The fish was like rubber. It was like eating the rubber sole of a tennis shoe with some fried breading on it. I was so hungry that when it fell out of the breading I ate the breading. There were two fillets so I set the rubber one aside and made a sandwich with the second one. It was rubber too. I took the breading off and ate the breading. Then I put the two buns with the tomato together and ate the bread with tomato. I'm starting to feel sick. So if I die, I would like my friends and family to be able to know what I was thinking about today. If the chef can check when the food was bought and the vendor that would help. If these fillets are left over from 2020 during COVID and you wanted to finally sell them I get it. Everyone keeps old wedding cake for decades. Please sell my truck to pay for my coffin. I don't want my family to have to spend money they don't have for my funeral. I'm giving 5 stars because the waitresses are always very helpful. read more

Oh, what a great place Uncle Pete's Cafe is for a hearty breakfast. We braved a busy cafe with lots of patrons and got lucky to sit at a table for two. Luis came over, and I had that great cup of coffee. The lovely missus has the waffle with a handful of yummy bacon. My favorite is the Popeye omelet, but change the feta cheese to cheddar. Oh, that hash browns was great, and the Sourdough toast was perfect with all the jams at the table. That coffee is so good that I was offered a cup to go. It was a Sunday. I decided outdoor seating would have been better than indoor after I saw that their TVs were set to sports other than football. Football has just begun so not interested in the rest. Either way, indoors was very loud. I know I wouldn't have been able to have a conversation with my husband, so we sat outside. I think our waitress wasn't keeping up with the tables outside as much as she was inside. My husband's coffee cup sat empty for quite some time. She also brought his English muffins out when he was almost half way into his meal. The English muffins were cold at that point and he said to me he wasn't eating cold English muffins. She never came to see if we were doing ok. Later on, she gave us the bill in a little bill holder. I waited with my debit card but she never came back. A different waitress waiting the table behind me offered to take my payment in. I waited for ten minutes before I went inside to find out where my card was. I hadn't even been rung up yet. I was finally rung up and my husband was in the car annoyed because it was taking so long like everything else. I don't know if it was just because it was a busy Sunday that there was lack of attention to detail or if our waitress is just slow as snails, but our breakfast experience was ruined. It took them ten minutes to even acknowledge our presence and then once we were seated, it took fifteen minutes for us to get our menus and water. We left after waiting ten minutes for our server that never came. This is not the first time that this has happened. We did successfully dine there before, but with similar waiting times (not during peak hours). The only time that they have good service is when there's only 1 other table filled in the entire restaurant. It was a waste of time and it's honestly irritating that they forgot about us. read more

Sunday afternoon, and we're hungry. The chalkboard on the wall has a list of items with lower prices than the menu price. We ASSUUMED that these items were on special. We ordered the smash burger. $12.99. When our lunch came, it was just that, a burger. Meat, cheese, pickles, and dressing. No lettuce, or tomato like a normal burger, and NO SIDE! This is NOT a special. it's Ala carte. Our server should have informed us that this was just a plain burger for $12.99 and offered a side. 2 burgers plain 1 Patty melt with a side 3 cokes Price $50.76 plus tip. I could have gotten a cheese burger, chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink for $5.99 at McDonald's. I feel like we got riped off. The staff is always friendly and the food isn't heavily salted (the restaurant is next door to senior citizen apartments) so add your own. The country gravy is the best in town but add some salt and pepper, again they make it more mild for the seniors. This morning, 8/1/25, I ordered a pork chop with eggs, potatoes, and toast for $18.99, coffee for $4.49 and sat outside. I was delivered my breakfast after having to ask for coffee twice. The potatoes, toast and eggs were to my liking, however, the pork chop was dry, tough and tasteless. It looked beautiful on the plate until I tried to eat it, one bite and that is all I had. When the meal was finished, the server, Marissa, asked if I would like to take the pork chop home. I told her it was dry, tough and tasteless and would do me no good by taking it home. She said it "was a shame but indicated most of their menu items are really good"!!!! I was presented with my bill...in full...no discount or apologies necessary I guess. Went to Uncle Pete's Cafe today and it was a great dining experience . Did know about this hidden jewel, but I'm glad I was introduced to it. The food was delicious and fresh. I had the turkey club lunch, and my dining mate had the chicken sandwich lunch with sweet potatoes. Our waiter Antonio has his customer service and people skills down to a science!! Uncle Pete's used to be a good option, particularly for breakfast. Even in the early days of food delivery, I could count on them for good food, served cleanly. Today I ordered for delivery and found numerous hairs in my food. Had to throw the whole thing away. California Health and Safety Code 113969 requires hair restraints for restaurant workers who are preparing, serving, or handling food or utensils. This isn't the kind of thing to take lightly. I won't be back and I don't recommend Uncle Pete's. read more

So much for "dog friendly" patio, we ended up leaving because they were not very dog friendly. We came there to ask for a table. The guy said "no dogs allowed inside!" Uhhh of course...we didn't ask to get seated inside, we asked for a table outside. We stood outside waiting and waiting for our table when a family of 4 came in after us and got seated right away outside. There were two other empty tables that they could've seated us. Terrible service, waiters and waitresses are so unaware of what's going on around them.
