Liver and onion dinner with onion rings and mashed potatoes with gravy.
    Lisa B.

I was looking for a place that served liver because my friend is trying to get his anemia under control. I have always passed by these Harry's Cafes and thought they look like a restaurant out of Mayberry. My friend had liver and onions. The dinner comes with soup AND salad and a toasted hamburger bun. You also get fries or baked potato or mashed potatos with gravy. The amount of food was very good for what you get these days. I had a chili size. They give you a split toasted hamburger bun with a patty on each one. The beauty of the dish was they spread refried beans on the bun. I like a good chili size and I have never had one this creative. The chili was delicious and they asked if I wanted cheese and onions which of course I did. Usually I eat about half my food but honestly, I ate the whole thing except for maybe one bite. My friend liked all of the food and he took home the hamburger bun with a big hunk of liver for later. I had the cucumber Agua Fresca. As a treat, Yolanda came to my table and asked me if I wanted Chia seeds in my Aguas Fresca . Wasn't that nice and of course I did. The restaurant is clean inside. The staff are very attentive clearing plates, cause we sat there and gabbed a lot. There was a lot of to go traffic. Inside diners too, but the dining room is so large that you can't even see the other people. Definitely give this place a try.

The customer service here is Amazing, if you don't know what to choose they are very knowledgeable on the menu help you choose whats perfect for you, food comes out hot and efficient. The food taste delicious the burgers here are juicy and tasty! I will definitely come back again I wanna try the breakfast next! Also they have breakfast ALL day which is a plus

Harry's Café deserves all the love. Their service is consistently amazing, and I've even gotten the same person twice -- they always make me feel welcome and taken care of. There's something about the way they treat customers that makes you feel at home, not rushed or overlooked. Definitely one of my new favorite spots. Highly recommend!

What I discovered when I finally decided to give Harry's a try... - It has been open for decades - It is a no-frills place -- clean with several tables inside and outside - It has an extensive menu -- classic diner food, Mexican specialties, etc. - It doesn't skimp on the serving sizes - The prices are good for the amount of food you get - Servers are friendly and accommodating I can't believe that I only went recently because I wish I had gone sooner. They have really great food. We ordered the liver and onions dinner plate and chicken fried steak. Both were YUMMY. The liver was cooked right and didn't taste mineral-y. The steak was tender and tasty; the gravy was delicious with sausage bits. I'm already planning my next visit as I finish this review... if you haven't given them a try, go!

Smaller place with plenty of parking. 2 TVs on inside and people working behind the counter were very friendly. Place has ceiling fans and was a bit quiet. Many delivery drivers picking up orders as well. We ordered water and they asked if we wanted ice and lemon, which was nice. I ordered rib eye steak and eggs with house potatoes and no veggies, sourdough toast. Hubby ordered French toast with no sugar, eggs and extra crispy bacon. Plus an avocado burger. Prices are reasonable $34.58 for everything and portions are decent. They even gave me a sample of their cucumber lime water which was good but too sweet for me to drink an entire cup. Food was fresh and meat was juicy. Hamburger was good as well. We will definitely return.

It is a family owned restaurant and their menu was so extensive. The staff were all very friendly. I had Huevos Rancheros and my wife had a bacon breakfast burrito. Excellent food. I would highly recommend Harry's Cafe.

The chicken salad with the thick and mayonnaise tasting ranch dressing.

The service was great and the food was great especially the salad that I ate despite the ranch dressing tasting like mayonnaise and was thick so I will come back again.

I recently visited Harry's Cafe for breakfast and ordered their famous Breakfast Burrito. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The burrito was generously filled with fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, savory sausage, and melted cheddar cheese. The tortilla was perfectly grilled and added a nice crunch to each bite. topped with green salsa Overall, I highly recommend Harry's Cafe if you're looking for a delicious and satisfying breakfast burrito. It's definitely worth a visit!

I remember this place being around since I was in high school, so clearly they've been doing something right to stick around for this long. That being said, I'm only reviewing the breakfast burrito here, not any of their other food. And honestly, it was kind of just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. The burrito was pretty simple, just eggs, cheese, and bacon. Looking at it, it honestly reminded me of something I could make at home. The salsa and pico de gallo didn't really do much for me either. They were fine, but nothing that made the burrito stand out or added a whole lot of extra flavor. I will say, the staff and the people eating there were extremely friendly, which definitely made the experience more enjoyable. I can see why a local spot like this has been around for so long, especially when you have that kind of welcoming atmosphere and a loyal customer base. But if I'm specifically in the mood for a breakfast burrito, based on this experience, I'd probably go somewhere else. There are just too many breakfast burritos around OC that I enjoy more. Again, this review is only about the breakfast burrito, so I'm definitely not saying the rest of their menu isn't worth trying. I may have just picked the wrong thing. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing that made me want to come back specifically for the breakfast burrito. The friendly people were probably my favorite part of the experience.

Started with the Hamachi Crudo - fresh hamachi with aguachile, avocado, cucumber, serrano, and macerated strawberries. The Momonoki Chicken Wings followed with a crispy 12-hour brined chicken glazed in caramel fish sauce, Thai chili, and scallions. Sweet, savory, crispy... these disappeared quickly. The Dashi Pesto came with pan-seared Hokkaido scallops, dashi-infused pesto, blistered cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan. Then came the Gochujang Pork Belly over mashed potatoes with mozzarella and scallions. The pork belly was tender and flavorful, but those mashed potatoes deserve their own review. Seriously, the softest and creamiest mashed potatoes ever. Ever. Finished the savory side with the Miso Bacon Carbonara - creamy miso-Calabrian chili carbonara with crispy bacon, Parmesan, and scallions. Rich, comforting, and another dish worth coming back for. Dessert brought strawberry lychee ice cream and sesame creme brulee. Both were pleasant, although the savory dishes were definitely stars of the evening. From the start, the service was excellent and easily one of the highlights of our visit. The cashier was exceptionally kind and even apologized for the wait, generously applying his employee discount to our order to make up for it. Despite the initial delay, our food was ready within 10 minutes. **Spam Brûlée Musubi: 5/5** Nestled between layers of freshly steamed rice, the grilled spam was coated in a glossy teriyaki-style glaze. Creamy kimchi aioli was drizzled on top, while the brûléed brown sugar formed a thin caramelized crust that added a pleasant sweetness and delicate crunch with each bite. It was so good that we ended up getting a second order. **Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwich: 5/5** This sandwich featured incredibly crispy panko-fried chicken that remained tender and juicy beneath its golden crust, smothered in hot kimchi butter that provided a subtle acidity and gentle heat. A touch of brûléed brown sugar introduced a sweet contrast to the savory fried chicken, while the kimchi aioli and macaroni salad brought a mellow creaminess that balanced its richness. Rounding out the sandwich was the Hawaiian bun, which was soft and moist yet nicely toasted on the exterior. **Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken & Katsu Shrimp Mixed Plate: 5/5** The mixed plate was another standout, combining their signature chopped katsu chicken with lightly battered shrimp drenched in hot kimchi butter. The shrimp had a light crispness that gave way to a succulent, snappy bite, while the sauce delivered a bold, umami-forward flavor. Accompanying the proteins were rice and their house-made macaroni salad, which incorporated shredded tuna and mashed hard-boiled eggs into a mayonnaise-based dressing finished with a sprinkle of paprika. These additions elevated an otherwise unassuming side with unexpected depth and complexity. Between the outstanding hospitality and impressive execution, Shootz exceeded expectations across the board, earning its place as my go-to whenever I'm at Rodeo 39.

So when we saw the Fountain Valley location, we stopped in for old times' sake. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We ordered a full rack of ribs, Caesar salad, and breadsticks. The ribs were dry and overly seasoned, and the sauce tasted more like ketchup than barbecue sauce. The Caesar salad was just okay. The breadsticks tasted frozen and quickly reheated, with a processed texture. They were also out of beer. And at 7 PM there were only five tables with customers The only positives were prompt service, quick food, and surprisingly great carbonation in the Diet Coke. The meal was around $60, which is affordable, but I'd rather pay more for better quality.
