The portions are great! Service was friendly. Prices are reasonable. Food was cooked fresh to order. Restaurant was clean. Easy to get seating (at 7am on Sunday). The bacon was crispy and seasoned nicely. If this was all I based the review on, this would be a 5 star place. HOWEVER, when a place serves biscuits and gravy, they should get it 110% correct...or not do them. The gravy was lukewarm and tasteless. Huge strike out. The biscuits were thin, tasteless, and the texture was like a sponge (and not in a good way). If you can't serve a hot, flavorful gravy, don't offer it. Biscuits should be hot, dense, and thick. But overall, the place was a win. read more

My family and I were in town visiting and the cafe was close to where we were staying. We walked in and were immediately greeted and due to the size of our party we had a wait. The wait time was not long especially with the cafe being busy. Our server was friendly and professional. Even when a request was made about the order they immediately fixed the minor error in no time. The noise level was average and not loud with a full restaurant. Have you ordered the combo omelette and he seemed to enjoy it but with disappointed that it was a bit smaller than before. Love that they have orange marmalade for toast. Place was busy and it is seat yourself. Just wish they would have the menus as you walk in, because then you could take it with you while you are waiting for someone to be with you. Good service, and the food comes pretty fast. Be sure to check their specials on the board. They are also open for dinner, maybe one day we will make it back for dinner. Decent, hearty breakfast meals with good prices and quick service. We were killing time in the neighborhood, waiting for Guitar Center down the street to open and thought, "We might as well get something to chew on while we wait." Uncle Pete's was nearby and not busy, which was surprising for a holiday. We settled into a booth and perused the menu. I ended up getting the Popeye Omelet (with no bacon) and a side of hashbrowns and wheat toast. My husband went with the Corned Beef Hash, with hashbrowns and sourdough toast. The wait was a little longer than expected, given how not busy they were, but we weren't in a real rush, so it didn't matter too much (other than when the coffee cups ran dry and the waitress said, "I'll be right back with more coffee" and disappeared.) The omelet was good, filled with lots of spinach and mushrooms, and topped with crumbly white goat cheese. Surprisingly, the hashbrowns were my favorite item, as they were cooked to perfection (I always ask for crispy on both sides, but sadly hardly ever get that). They were a bit greasy, but it wasn't off-putting. My husband enjoyed his breakfast but was a bit bummed by the serving size of the corned beef. His serving of hashbrowns dwarfed the corned beef serving, but at least he liked the flavors. It was a quick, filling and cheap breakfast, which was what we were looking for! read more

Super nice little cafe, glad we came here for breakfast. The service was great, super quick and they waitress was very attentive to anything we needed. Uncle Pete's Cafe is somehow a hidden gem on Beach Blvd. Uncle Pete's is a lovely little cafe that is tucked away within a strip mall. There is a nice, small patio that is covered by an awning which adds a few extra tables for dining. The interior of the cafe is very cozy. The decor has hints of farmhouse with a mellow country soundtrack in the background that is loud enough to drown other tables conversations while not blaring over your own. Tables are well spaced apart, so you don't need to worry about bumping chairs, elbows, or anything like that. There is a lotto machine, which somehow adds a nice, small town vibe. This is definitely a place where you could sit with your coffee and have time fly. The coffee is absolutely stunning. Each pot of coffee comes with freshly ground beans. The coarseness of the beans were ground perfectly as the coffee was some of the smoothest that I've ever had at any breakfast spot. Seriously, the coffee was perfect. To eat, I had the Eggs Benedict. The slice of Canadian Bacon was perfectly thick, and not just a small slice that some places offer. The hollandaise was good, but didn't have anything to separate it from other places. The eggs were perfectly poached; there were no uncooked whites and the yolk was runny without flooding your plate. The Benedict came with your choice of hash browns or home fries, so I opted for the home fries. The potatoes were nice and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. There were just enough peppers and onions with the fries to give it a nice flavor. The staff here are all extremely friendly, nice, and fast. There were only two people working the floor this morning, but my coffee was never empty at all. Immediately, I felt like I had been a regular here for a decade. If you're looking for a cozy breakfast place with safe choices and warm feelings, this is absolutely the spot. Great coffee, good food, and amazing people. Second time here in a week and I can't get enough. The breakfast is always cooked to order and just tastes so darn good and homemade. We've been here around the same time (10am) on a Saturday and it's been pretty busy but we always get seated right away. The one star down is just for the waitresses. They're attentive and all but not as friendly as I would hope. The food makes up for it definitely. I ordered the Belgian waffle with scrambled eggs and bacon. It's a great price and it's also filling! I always eat the bacon first, it has the best flavor ever and is nice and crisp with every bite. I tend to add the butter on the waffle so it gets absorbed and then I go onto pouring the syrup. I let it sit and all absorb so it's just ready for me when I'm about to devour it. Even sitting for a few minutes, the waffle still has toasty edges and doesn't get too soggy. Omg, the coffee is freaking delicious. It doesn't taste watered down either. Uncle Pete's café is super crowded around brunch time so we opted for to-go. The chicken skillet breakfast was packed with vegetables and chicken and potatoes. It was very filling, although a little bland. We added hot sauce which made it taste more flavorful. It was a healthy option with lots of protein. 5 stars all day hands down!! This place surprised me. It's small and perfect for that next day if I'm so hungry I'll eat anything cuz everything is amazing here. I ate the chicken fried steak. If you play lottery they also have a machine full of tickets n I think they have keno or whatever that game is that you pick numbers while you eat. Yes! CFS is my go to at every breakfast diner. I used to g to Pams but since covid their steaks have been very dry so I decided to try Uncle Pete's. I have def found my new fav breakfast spot. The CFS was not dry at all and their gravy was so delish. Their Belgium waffle was so warm and fluffy. The diner itself is very clean. Arrived about 1030 am . Not crazy busy, but they did have a few open tables and only 2 people on the waitlist and tons of dirty tables. We got sat down by an older lady which took our drink order and that was the last we seen of her. We waiting over 15 minutes just to place our food order. The girl with a blonde pony tail was asked to take our order and literally avoided our table for a few more minutes and rolled her eyes. Not sure why. Honestly, at that point, I should have walked out. The only reason we decided to eat here is because it was my mother's favorite breakfast place when she was alive !!! Wow wow wow! This place knocked our socks off so much we came back the very next day! The pics alone speak for themselves. I'm pretty sure my uncle Verle use to come here back in the day with his Knights of Columbus buddies. Their calendar is they thing I remember as a teenager. So it was a pleasant surprise to finally try their amazing food. But the coffee. I'm a coffee girl through and through. This was some good coffee. We even asked what brand it was it was so good. Mariah(not spelled correctly) is such a delight. As much as the rest of the staff is as well. We plan to frequent here often. We just ordered 2 breakfast burritos for about $11 where you can choose 2 proteins as we got the sausage and chorizo/beans, it comes with eggs and potato inside. I chose this place after walking in to pick up an order a couple of weeks ago and watching the server create that beautiful Belgian waffle with the bananas, caramel drizzle and the whipped cream, I knew I had to come back to try the food myself and here we are. I have been going here for years. The chef has issues. I asked for light oil on their delicious house-made hashbrowns and they came in a pool of oil on the burned side. Yikes. The waitresses are excellent. Only two handling a full house and a birthday party. They deserve raises. If Tom was still the owner, the chef would be fired for dissing the servers and customers. There's nothing worse than walking into a restaurant being ignored by employees who don't seem to want to be there. I stood at the door for five minutes while the waitress was assisting other tables, and the bartender was more interested in opening a bottle of wine than acknowledging the fact that someone walked in. After five minutes of waiting, the bartender decided to look up, I asked if I could see myself or how this worked she said I could choose my own seat, rolled her eyes and continue to open her wine bottle. I then sat down and decided after another 10 minutes of sitting at my table I'd rather give my money to people who would like to be at their jobs and serve. It's really sad how bad Customer Service has gotten it's a lost start. Remember people if you don't like your job quit and do something else. read more

I never write 1 star reviews but if I could I would give a ZERO. My bf and I went today morning and he ordered 2 waffles. 1plain Belgian, 1 strawberry, eggs and bacon. It was super busy! Ordered the food at 10:50am. 11:10am rolls around, no one called his name... 11:20am, nothing... 11:30am still nothing... 2 girl employees at the front let him know his food was almost done but it was nowhere to be seen. On the counter were untouched togo boxes filled with food but we just assumed it was for someone else. Please tell me why HIS food was CHILLIN ON THE COUNTER FOR A WHOLE A$$ 20 mins and NO ONE CALLED HIS NAME???? She proceeds to tell him, "the chefs in the back didn't put a ticket on the order so they didn't know who it was for." They apologized and offered to make another order. Thanks for the apology, truly.. but respectfully who wants to wait another 15 minutes after waiting 40-50 minutes? To top the cake, we opened the box and order was WRONG.... we ordered 1 plain, and 1 strawberry. In the box there were 2 soggy waffles, 1 strawberry and 1 completely different waffle. At this point no one wanted to eat it after spending $40+ on the meal. To the manager, please evaluate your system if you don't want another disappointed customer. My tummy is happy and full!!!! This place was recommended by Yelp of course thank you, and it did not disappoint it smelled clean and good when we walked in. The waitress was super great and nice and very attentive we never had an empty cup of coffee you can always tell a place is good if your drinks are always full. I had the croissant breakfast sandwich with home fries man oh man it was good especially when the cheese melts right off the bread mmmmm.My husband had the pancake breakfast and the pancakes were cooked just right. I used to frequent this business a lot before, and decided to drop in recently. Unfortunately, this visit was not like before. The food was mediocre and so was the service. Steak was over cooked and the french toast tasted like cafeteria food. We were told to sit anywhere (just like before), but it took approximately ten minutes for a server to come by, give us our menus and take our drink order. Another ten minutes went by and our waitress came around to take our order. The food was ready quick, but the quality of the food was poor. No refills for coffee were provided, nor for water. It's unfortunate that a spot that used to be amazing went downhill. Customer service is poor and seems nonexistent. read more

The reason for one star, which is deserving, I went for dinner with a friend. The male waiter was exceptionally rude. Not I'm having a bad day rude, more like this is who I am, how I am, and I don't care. It astounds my why a person like this would think this behavior acceptable, would ever be hired to work dealing with the public, would even want a job in which your ability to be liked determines how much money you make. What's the purpose of the front of the building AND the menus advertising BREAKFAST LUNCH & DINNER but when I walk in here and try to order fish & chips they say they can't serve it? My sister tried to order chicken Alfredo - can't order it. Apparently they don't serve certain menu items until 4pm. Had I known that half the menu wasn't available I would've eaten somewhere else. Pathetic. Wasted my time walking in this dirty establishment. Tables are dirty & sticky at that. Save your money & eat somewhere where the menu isn't restricted. read more
