We have been coming here ever since they first opened the new location on Francis. Very nice family ran business with delicious food. The fact that you can get a big giant fluffy pancake with your breakfast is pretty amazing. If you haven't added the sweet cream option yet, you are really missing out. Almost all of their bread options (including the buns) are homemade and sooo dang yummy. They also have weekly burger specials and did I mention fresh baked mini pies and other sweets 'n goodies? It is not fancy, but we don't require fancy either. For the people that do, there are plenty of overpriced sub-par places to go visit instead, if that's your "thing". We personally all LOVE it here and enjoy our visits with Rosie, her mom, and Uncle Rusty when he pops out from the kitchen to say hi. read more

We were greeted right away by a very casually dressed server who quickly brought the menu and water. I was surprised at the prices as this is a diner and I expected it to be a couple of dollars cheaper than the popular breakfast place north of Francis. We wanted to try the country fried steak but at $20 dollars we decided to split it. They were nice about that and actually plated it on two plates. The CF steak was fine, the gravy was barely seasoned, the hash browns were fairly crispy and the over medium eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuit didn't look great but was tasty. Only after we ordered did I ask about a lighter menu and our server said they have one and she would read it off her phone. I think that would be a good way to get what you wanted in a smaller quantity. The salad bar wasn't big but we didn't have it as the iceberg lettuce was pale yellow and not appealing. It's not the best food but they have a lot of room. It has a full bar that was empty. Seems like you could work remotely in it and enjoy a few beers. read more

Any pictures older than February 2025 are not current photos. Cuz they moved from downtown to the new Francis location at that time. Our last visit was on Easter (aka Resurrection) Sunday. We all tried the chicken fried steak, which was thick and delicious! I had the breakfast one with pancakes. Two HUGE dinner plate sized fluffy cakes came with butter & syrup. Next time, I'll add strawberries but wanted to taste the plain ones first. The others chose corn and mashed potatoes with sausage gravy. Huge portions! They both took more than half home for later. I skipped the eggs with mine and took home one of the pancakes for breakfast the next day. I'm really enjoying this place! Yes, it's very informal, so if you don't like that, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE and stop ruining it for the rest of us!!! read more

Both items were pretty sparse.. The hash browns I got seemed like it was just what was left over on the grill and barely covered the bottom of to go box and the omelette had meat and chx on one half but not the other. Definitely not gonna give them another chance. read more

I've given them a try at the old and new location and both times I've left vowing to never go back again. I'd love to support a nearby family business, but I'm not being fooled a third time. You can find better diners that are just as dive-y and worn down, I'm sure. Each visit, parts of the order were forgotten/super delayed and the food was just okay or not great. The menu apparently doesn't list all of their options, though it was nice that the waitress let us know about them when we were having a hard time deciding. I was looking forward to the salad bar and was completely shocked when I walked up and there was NO CHEESE OR OLIVES. When I gently brought this up to the server she told me "we must be out." Also, the cottage cheese was a dry clump. I had originally ordered unlimited trips but once I realized that it was the saddest salad bar I have ever experienced, I asked her to change my order to a single trip. Ultimately, I took one bite of what I could cobble together and the ranch dressing (I think? None of the dressings were labeled) tasted like it had been made with Miracle Whip. That's a hard no for me, so for one of the first times in my life, I let the waitress know that I would not be able to eat it at all. And yet, when I got the check, she still tried to charge me. AND THEN, when she brought back our corrected check, she made excuses about the cook being too busy to put the missing condiments out (we were two of four people in the entire cavernous place), gave me attitude, and suggested that they could have gotten the missing options from the back "if I had asked." Girl, please. As someone who has worked in food service, retail, and customer service over the past few decades (and is always polite to my servers, even if things go sideways), if it was available in the back and you can grab it, that's what you should do when it is brought to your attention. Instead, I got a petty lecture when it was too late to fix it. One extra star because the fries were good. read more

My husband & I had strawberry waffles. The waffle was fresh, strawberries probably frozen style & real whipped cream. It was good. Served with maple syrup. Looks and sounded like it was under new ownership. Not much ambience. Only a few customers including us. Service was friendly. We regret our choice to stop in for breakfast. The omelet was super bland, the hashbrowns were under seasoned and then after putting ketchup on them we couldn't eat them because it turned out the ketchup had gone bad. As we were cashing out at the end the server hovered over and watched making us feel obligated to pick one of the suggested tip amounts rather than write in an appropriate amount. (Any restaurant that suggests higher than 25% on the printed ticket is out of their mind, let the guest decide that) And to end it all the server dropped the F-bomb on us. Super unprofessional, pretty slow service. The place just opened up within the year and it looked worn down and falling apart already. read more

Food 8/10 The first time we came here I got the eggs Benedict and it was way too salty for me. i think it was the ham they put on it. The second time around I made sure to avoid ham and ask for no additional salt. Which made the food so much better. Service 10/10 Everyone is so nice and accommodating. I also love when they circle back to pour more of your coffee inside your cup. Ambiance 7/10 typical diner vibe. Last time we came the video camera was shining a light directly on our table which was a little uncumfy. The diner is right in front of a motel so there is a lot of activity, glass on the ground outside in the v small parking lot. Overall, I like it. We had lunch - which was good but could have been better. Pretty sure the rolls were homemade -- a plus but they were underbaked. I had the French dip, husband had the Philly cheese steak. Fries were crispy. Looking at other diners, I think breakfast is where they really shine. We will try them again for that. Service is friendly but laid back. It's local to us now and a good weekend breakfast place that is not packed has been a had find. Family owned is a plus. Inside is a work in progress. Decided to stop in and check out the new opening of a restaurant that was in dt Spokane, . We split a Ruben sandwich and fries ,fairly priced and quite good , like i stated the have just moved into this location , there was no music playing or tvs on ( which the tv part I don't mind if it on) so ,very quite had the vibe of a church basement , our waitress was quite chatty , Seamed to be just her and mom running the place ... besides the cook ... food came out in a reasonable amount of time , when I asked the waitress about music she said most of their clients like it quite so they can read ... My friends and I wanted to get breakfast, on a Sunday, at the height of the Sunday brunch rush. Found this great diner in downtown Spokane. There was no wait for a table and the food was delicious. Their hash browns are perfect. They have onions in them, they're crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. The English muffin was perfectly cooked (not overly cooked) and had melted butter in every nook and cranny. The veggie omelette was tasty. For just $1 I added sausage to it so I could get all the veggies and still get the sausage. If you're looking for a breakfast place that you can easily get into on a Sunday, this is it. read more

Feels like a small town diner in a hallmark movie lol with friendly staff and what seems to be a fair amount of regulars. Comfortable spot for a solo diner. I got there at 1pm on a Sunday (they close at 2pm) and there were plenty of seats so I was seated in a comfy booth by the window but they have counter seating and regular tables too. Got a half order of the jalapeno sweet cream pancakes ($6) which was huge and had a nice kick to it. Also ordered a breakfast burger (~$10) which had a perfectly (to me) cooked egg with plenty of gooey yolk and a side of toasty hashbrowns to soak up said yolk. I wasn't a fan of the amount of cream cheese in the burger and the bread was kind of cold, so I wouldn't order that again but I'll be back to try their spumoni ice cream (they were out but I was stuffed anyway!)! read more

Good old-fashioned American diner. We had breakfast. It was excellent food cooked well. They had home-made sourdough toasted bread cooked from scratch. Amazing. The two sweet cream pancakes were as big as a plate. The sausages were thick and juicy. They also have Thomas Hammer coffee. It's a very nice place to eat.
