Country Fried Steak with hash browns, over medium egg, and biscuit
Conni M.

We were greeted right away by a very casually dressed server who quickly brought the menu and water. I was surprised at the prices as this is a diner and I expected it to be a couple of dollars cheaper than the popular breakfast place north of Francis. We wanted to try the country fried steak but at $20 dollars we decided to split it. They were nice about that and actually plated it on two plates. The CF steak was fine, the gravy was barely seasoned, the hash browns were fairly crispy and the over medium eggs were cooked perfectly and the biscuit didn't look great but was tasty. Only after we ordered did I ask about a lighter menu and our server said they have one and she would read it off her phone. I think that would be a good way to get what you wanted in a smaller quantity. The salad bar wasn't big but we didn't have it as the iceberg lettuce was pale yellow and not appealing. It's not the best food but they have a lot of room. It has a full bar that was empty. Seems like you could work remotely in it and enjoy a few beers.

Ham Or Bacon Or Sausage & Cheese Omelet*

Both items were pretty sparse.. The hash browns I got seemed like it was just what was left over on the grill and barely covered the bottom of to go box and the omelette had meat and chx on one half but not the other. Definitely not gonna give them another chance.

This place consistently puts out A+ food and service that matches! Today was the corn beef hash and was fantastic. Definitely house made, not glopped out of a can! Big tasty chunks of real corned beef grilled together with diced tasters. Biscuit and sourdough toast were also house made and nearly perfect! Coffee was hot & plentiful which I *always* appreciate. Do yourself a favor, skip Frank's and start here!!

The huckleberry mimosas were the initial attraction and while not bad, not the highlight- a little too light on the champagne and a little too heavy on the muddled huckleberries. I would definitely go back.

What a fun experience! A must in Spokane…read more This restaurant is inside of an old dining car and has been in business since 1931! The inside as shown in my picture is very charming and old timey. Allow time to wait for a table unless you are just one or two like I was and able to grab a seat at the bar. I was able to sit immediately. The staff is very amiable and the hostess made the recommendation that I try the Caprese Benedict, which had fried tomatoes in place of bread, fresh basil and blood orange balsamic drizzle. They offer the option of one or two Benedict, which is nice if you aren't super hungry. They also give the option to smother the hashbrowns and cheese, which I obviously opted into. The menu is absolutely massive though, so if Benedict's or even breakfast aren't your jam, you should be able to find something that suits your fancy. Also worth noting that they offer a very wide variety of gourmet flavors of house-made juices (7 or 8) for mimosas, like honeydew melon mint which I tried as a soda with soda water since I was driving.

It looked like they were using olives to try to cover up how the dish actually looked, which was mushy and gross. Somehow it tasted worse than it looked. The BLT had scant bacon, tons of lettuce, a few pink flavorless tomato slices and tons of bread. It fell completely apart due to not enough mayo. All I tasted was dry day old bread. The waitress kept leaning over a booth wall and across me, to present things instead of walking around a few steps to the table to complete service. She literally was knocking things off my plate in order to keep leaning over the booth wall to deliver things. She then would just laugh and continue this weird reach thing for anything else she brought including the check. It was really bizarre. The final audacity was the total of our lunch which ended up over $40. It wasn't worth $4. I usually give an establishment a few trys before giving up on them but in this case we will never be back.

When we walked in it looked so cute and well taken care of. As soon as we were seated our waitress got our drink and meal orders. I ordered the Turkey Club which came with ham, turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, on sourdough with french fries for $19. My husband ordered the Uncle D's Burger which came with onion rings, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, on a brioche bun with a side of french fries for $18.00. Our food arrived quickly and everything was fresh to order. The Club Sandwich was impressive and tasted delicious. Everything was assembled fresh and the vegetables were still crisp. As for my husband's burger, he said it was cooked to medium well yet it still retained its moisture and was perfectly seasoned. He enjoyed the crispness the onion rings added and said the barbecue added a nice tangy flavor. As for the prices, we thought they were a little steep for brunch but still a fun experience. We wish our waters were refilled but other than those two things, not bad.
