For a restaurant in a mall food court, my meal was surprisingly good. I had the poki bowl with greens as the base and instead of two different types of fish I had double ahi tuna. The fish was fresh and the combo of toppings was fine. It was sort of bland; perhaps another sauce would have perked up the bowl. The service was fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable. I'm not sure if it's because my friends and I ordered through DoorDash, but this was the worst poke bowl I've ever had. I got the ahi tuna and salmon bowl with house spicy and pineapple wasabi mayo sauce, and the fish was barely coated in the sauce. I didn't taste any wasabi from the wasabi mayo sauce, and my friends who also got the same sauce agreed with me. Therewasn't any spice at all as well. It felt like the fish had just been tossed in a very light dressing of sesame oil. The fish wasn't the freshest and the scoops of fish were so small compared to other places I've had. The imitation crab is just shredded up with no coating, or at least none that I could taste. The best thing about the bowl was probably the seaweed and corn... I have been back here and actually tried their poke bowls and their fruit tea drink again. I got to say though, I was quite impressed with the food and service I received from the workers. Ahi Tuna and Salmon: This is my go to choices for poke. Though I do love Spicy tuna a lot, this combination just hit the spot for me. All the topping paired well with the fish choices and the sauce was not too salty but gave it a lot of flavor. The price is a bit high, but the overall quality is not bad, especially being located in the mall. Strawberry Green Tea: This fruit tea is still pretty good. I enjoyed the green tea flavor more than a black tea, and the boba was squishy and delicious. Can't say much more than that. Decided to walk the mall on lunch break and wanted to give this poke place a try. Everything taste fresh without any fishiness and the fish and vegetables stayed cold which it should be. Odd and exception was the sushi rice was hot. I had a hard time holding the bowl as I took it "to go" and the bottom of the bowl was so hot (not warm). I am surprise the fish and vegetables stayed cold, but I did get half rice and half mixed greens could be the reason. The greens was the layer that kept the fish and other items from being warm. I know its a poke bowl restaurant in the mall but its actually really good. This is my sons go to for food if we are here. We get the number 1 with white rice. Both of my kids really like this one. The food is good quality. The rice is flavorful. I don't know how they do that. Its an easy dinner for us for sure. You have to sit with the other mall diners but its fine. I got half spring mix and half rice, the rice was well cooked and salad was refreshing. I love how much green onions were added, as though are my favorites. Service: Fast and friendly. The way to order is confusing as its not your typical how to order poke. You pick from list and the employee adds them while you wait, rather than tell what you want down the line. I'm not too picky when it comes to boba, although if I do not like a restaurant's boba, I won't go back for a second try. This place is okay if you want something simple, and it's not like there are better options in Sunvalley Mall (not a fan of Surf City's boba and haven't tried Boba Time yet). 0/10 Dittos. The quality over the years has severely decreased. Probably one of the saddest poke bowls I've ever had in my life. I used to go here all the time when they first opened and really liked it, but 2-3 years later it's not so good anymore. The rice was hard/stale, seaweed salad and salmon did not taste fresh. Both of them were mushy and the salmon was incredibly fishy tasting and still had lots of chewy string parts. Atleast their sauces still taste good lol. The workers were also really slow even though there were no customers. EDIT: I ate this for lunch and I couldn't eat dinner because it made my stomach super upset. I've had poke from many different places and it has never made me feel bad. Really don't recommend this place, I know it's the only poke place in the area but just wait for freshbox to be open again. Well, I was in a "poke" mood this visit to "Uncle Sharkii" and after pre reading some of what the "Yelpire" had to say about this establishment, I was definitely feeling "hokey" so it was easy to "turn myself about" and go see what this place was "all about'. I have to say sometimes the "Sunvalley Mall" be having some treasures at times and I'm happy I got to finally experience "Uncle Sharkii" finally. I would step out on a limb and say this is my new favorite "poke" establishment. Let me tell you why it ranks above the rest IMO. "Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar" Location - Concord, Ca (Sunvalley Mall) Food/Drink - Uncle Sharkii Bowl, Honeydew Milk Tea Price - $20.31 (with tax) Uncle Sharkii: This establishment is located in the "Sunvalley Mall/Shopping Center" in the food court on the lower level of the mall. It kinda sits in its own space detached from some of the other vendors and they do to-go or food court dining options with "The Vid" restrictions of course. I choose on this visit to get my order in a to-go format just in case I got full, but decided to sit in the food court to enjoy my meal. Here is what I thought of my choices.... Uncle Sharkii Bowl $11.25 - This bowl is the signature poke bowl, it carries the namesake of the establishment and it's basically all the ingredients in one bowl. They offer 4 protein choices Tuna, Salmon, Shrimp and Scallops. The Uncle Sharkii has 3 of the four. I choose rice as my base, house spicy sauce for my marinade, and Sriracha Mayo which is one of 3 choices (see my pics) for my poke sauce. It also has onions, cucumber, corn, non pickled jalapenos, fish row, green onions and seaweed as other garnishments. Let me just say.....This bowl is a certified banger!! Delicious!! Like I've had similar bowls from other poke bars, but this one I think is the best one I've had thus far. I'm a huge fan indeed. The best part is they didn't skimp on any ingredients, flavorful and pretty epic. Honeydew Milk Tea $5.25 - By milk tea standards, this was pretty average. Had a good taste and wasn't all loaded with a crap ton of ice as some boba joints like to do. Good. Overall: I would say "Uncle Sharkii Poke Bar" is a solid 4 out of 5 stars for me. I liked my poke bowl and milk tea from them. The service is pretty good and they're quick at getting your food to you. I like the fact this establishment has a rather simple menu and of course a catchy name. Visited location for lunch. Linda was super friendly at the counter and made suggestions as I had no idea what I wanted. She asked what meats I liked and whether I liked them raw or cooked. She asked if I liked spicy or no spicy. She asked if I liked rice or veggies. Once she finished her questions, with a great beautiful smile, she said, "I'll put something together for you." The food was so delicious, I looked forward to every bite. The chicken was full of flavor, the rice was sold and fluffy, and the veggies were crunchy and cooked perfectly. They offer Boba, but I got an iced water and a zero coke as I'm not really a Boba kind of person. I will have to try the Boba next time as I saw customers adding Boba to their meals.
