It's not a very big place but they have a couple of regular tables and bar tables for customers. Decor is cute and the whole Uncle Tea name makes it feel a little like family. Weird, huh? MENU The first time we stopped by, they ran out of boba an hour before closing. The worker promised that the next time we visit, she will not charge us for boba! We didn't expect her to remember, but she did when we came around the week after. Of the drinks we got, I really enjoyed the Jasmine Green Milk Tea! Light and refreshing and they come in the cute cups! The Hokkaido Milk Tea was not that impressive, but I did enjoy the Oolong Milk Tea. I wasn't impressed with the boba because it tasted bland. However, I really enjoyed their teas. SERVICE The lady working was very nice. We stopped by the shop a few minutes before closing because unknown to us at that time, they close earlier on weekdays. Very delicious drinks! The atmosphere is pretty down to earth and relaxing. Service is friendly. Currently 10% off all drinks with check in! What gets me coming back has to be the drinks! We tried the golden orange (their signature drink) which was very refreshing and perfectly flavored. I usually like my drink rather at least 50% less sugar or no sugar at all but without any adjustment in sugar, the drink was delicious and thirst quenching without being too sweet! Next I tried the matcha creama which is matcha milk tea with a thick layer of sweet cream. I wanted to try the cheese creama but they ran out - so if you want to try it, come close to opening time (we came at 9pm). The matcha creama tasted very creamy and flavorful but it was on the sweeter side however I was warned that this is more like a dessert drink. I did enjoy the drink but I thought it was delicious only when you drink the milk tea with a sip of the top layer of sweet cream. They recommended 3 ways of drinking this (see picture) and drinking the tea with the cream was the best in my opinion (the first option in the picture). Would have been more if not for the first time 20% check in. They also have a stamp card. It's a pretty solid drink. They have really nice boba imo so I would spend the extra $. The bobas not overly soft. It's soft when it gently lands on the tongue, but is chewy in the center, but not rock hard chewy like when you freeze a boba. The tea, however, was pretty washed out. Barely any flavor. Friend got the regular boba milk tea. It didn't taste like milk tea since the tea taste in this one was waaaay to heavy. They'll need to find a better balance. But if you're a heavy tea person, go for the milk tea. The stores environment is nice. But small. Two big tables. A few bar seats. And a few high seats as well. Service is at an acceptable pace. Parking here is pretty hard with other stores in the plaza. So we parked in the residential area when there was no parking around. Inside the store was pretty nice, not very spacious, but spacious enough to sit and relax for a bit. I ordered the Rose Milk Tea in hot and the regular milk tea with Tiramisu Foam. The Rose Milk Tea taste wasn't what I expected at all compared to other Rose Milk Teas I've had before. I particularly didn't like this Rose Milk Tea flavor. The regular milk tea also tasted a bit different, but definitely better than the Rose Milk Tea. I love the Tiramisu Foam and glad they have that as an option. Came here twice. The first time, no complaints. The milk tea w/ boba tasted like chocolate milk honestly. Came here again a few months after in the middle of the day (maybe between 3pm-5pm) and they told me they were out of boba and it would take a whole hour to make. I have visited the shop 2 times over the past few months. First time I went, I was a confused over the drink selection and the personalization options (some drinks can change sweetness and some you can't). Regardless of this, drinks were pretty good and I remembered that. My second visit, I ordered a milk tea with boba but was told they sold out of boba and they wouldn't have the next batch ready for 45 min - 1 hour. Uncle Tea is hands down my favorite study spot. They have free WiFi, cozy seating, and with the exception of people waiting for their drinks, it's really not too crowded. Heads up, they only really have one accessible outlet, and very limited seating. The parking lot is a mess. They share a small lot with multiple other businesses. If you're lucky, you'll be able to snag a spot. If not you'll have to park across the street which isn't the most convenient. Their golden orange drink is easily the best thing on their menu. UNCLE TEA is located in a large shopping center on AMAR that has its own large and free parking lot. There was no line when we got here which was a bit surprising for a Saturday afternoon. And so we did and I must say the tea place was a good try and was good however my order experience was the worse and we ordered online like many places that we have and did so 15 minutes before arriving. Waiting in line and mind you we were the only people in line and took them 10 minutes to help me and indicated O had an online order and they check and was told it would be ready for another 45 minutes. Crazy wait time for nobody else in line and only a few others waiting around. The order said 3pm ready and it was 2:30pm, I said really it's an online order and was informed there was many orders pending. So for the benefit of the doubt we came back at 3pm and we were helped in a couple of minutes and again the only in line and said we had an online order. No sorry for the wait , no sorry for not remembering we were here earlier for the online order and no even the courtesy how long the order would take even thou we order online more than 40 minutes ago. Glad I took a chance on Uncle Tea! This was especially perfect on my friend and I's first visit smack dab in the middle of summer. I personally prefer boba with the Strawberry Matcha Milk Tea. Cheese tea lovers rejoice. Uncle Tea also has those drinks on their menu. Or, you can choose to add cheese foam as a topping to any drink for an additional $0.70. Their cheese foam is standard. I like mine to be a little bit more cheesy and salty, but that's okay. I'll just stick to White & Brown (Koreatown) for my cheese foam obsession. If you do get a cheese foam drink here, they give you a spoon. Why a spoon, you ask? I actually am clueless myself. I was informed the right way to drink cheese tea is to drink it the same way as you would a glass of foamy beer. You have to sip from the cup, allowing the cheese and tea to mix in your mouth. How to know you're doing it correctly? If you end up with a cheese milkstache, that's how you know you've succeeded. This place can get pretty packed but most people just order their drink and leave. I don't like writing bad reviews, but I had a pretty bad experience this past weekend. It was my first time there and I've been wanting to check it out since the last time I was here it was still the Black and White Cafe. I ordered three drinks, two of which I requested no ice, but they still put ice in them. I told the lady about them and she took out the ice in one of them and just returned it to me without filling it up in place of the ice. The other one she just put on the side and I was wondering why it was taking so long. I had ordered a fourth drink since I found out about the check in discount after I placed my first order, so I waited and got my fourth drink, but she still didn't return that drink to me. It seems that she had completely forgotten about it and I had to let her know that the drink that she left there was mine. Later, a guy helped me with that drink, took out the ice, and filled up it. I'm glad that he filled it up and not just took out the ice and returned it to me. If you ever request no ice, make sure to double check your drink! I tried a Milk Tea Tiramisu Milk Foam with boba. It doesn't taste very unique to me and the boba itself was too sweet for me personally. If you get this drink, remember to stir and mix it up! It's not my cup of tea so I wouldn't get this again. I also sipped the almond milk tea that my family got, but it wasn't very flavorful. I would not recommend it. The almond flavor is barely there. My family also said that the jasmine green milk tea didn't really taste like anything either. The fourth drink that I got was the Uji Matcha Sea Salt MF. I'm so glad I got this because this was the best out of the four drinks that I got. It's very flavorful and creamy, and the pudding I got with it was very good too. If I were to ever go back, this would be the one that I get. The inside is clean and kinda spacious, but not a whole lot of seats. This place is also pricey compared to most boba places and they only have one cup size for the milk teas and another cup size for the milk foams. Recently hopped on board voluntarily for my sister's recent cheese foam craze addiction/infection, and so here I was tonight, looking for a little bit flavorful caffeinated post-dinner dessert tea at Uncle Tea. 100% absolutely true story: this location was selected semi-randomly, because 1) it was still open at 8:30 pm, and 2) it's got a semi-cute logo. A bit creepy at first, tbh. So good job graphic designer! (Actually, the logo grew on me the more I stared at it. The hypnotic Uncle Tea.) First thing first, savings. Make sure to check in to get a 20% off discount at your first visit. When paying, obtain a stamp card common to these Asian tea places; collect 10 stamps, get a free drink. (If you already have one, THEN BRING IT. That's always the hard part.) Menu was simple: Pick your drink, add toppings and/or caps. Both ice and sweetness levels could be adjusted. I bought myself one of the signatures, a Pink Lady, which was a strawberry green tea, with strawberry pieces and chia seeds added. My sister recommended me to add a cheese foam cap, (I wanted to try the tiramisu cap, but she assured me, this would make sense and taste better.) I got my mom a Golden Orange (orange green tea with mint garnish), another signature drink. Side note: The one young lady that acted as the cashier and the mixologist was very quick in taking orders, collecting payment, and making our drinks. All that work for one girl, and she did everything so quickly. I tip my hat to ya. Back to the drinks... Both were DELICIOUS! My mom's Golden Orange, I only took a sip, but it was tart, refreshing, light, and just the right amount of minty. Perfection. I may just attempt to make this at home... or come back to purchase one another day. Latter is probably the safer choice, lol. And my drink? Oh ho, it's actually exactly like a dessert you could drink. Indeed, my sibling's right: cheese foam complemented my drink very well. You know the dessert strawberry cheesecake? Or the ice cream flavor by the same name? It felt just like that, with an appropriately strong hint of tea added into the mix. The cheese cap (or crema) almost had a caramel scent or taste to it, which boosted its sweetness. It was thicker in texture than foam that I'd tried in the past. Each tea house seems to have their own version of foam cap, and Uncle Tea's was most definitely decent enough to win me back as a potential future customer. A great insight: another Yelper described it as more sweet, less savory, and much akin to cream cheese frosting. You know what, SPOT ON. The drink portion of Pink Lady was sweet, and imo, it could go a little less sweet. I didn't adjust the sweetness level as recommended by the same young lady, but as is, it's pretty good, too. You can find uncle tea in one of the most underrated strip malls in the 909/626 in respect to asian inspired dishes. Filipino, Korean, Thai, Indonesian, Vietnamese, you want it, it is here. So it would only make sense that a boba place find establish itself and, lo and behold, uncle tea. Came here a little bit before closing and, like most boba places, the kitchen was already closed and some drinks were already sold out. However, even 30 minutes before closing, a long stream of customers made their way to the counter to order a drink. The crowd here is predominantly younger, and reflective of the population of the area it serves. As a high school teacher less than a mile away, that's cool to see. Prices are in line with the area, and as most places their cups quite nice and their logo is on point. I ordered their jasmine milk tea with crystal boba and thoroughly enjoyed my drink. The green tea the ladyfriend had was oversteeped, but it could just be we arrived on the later end.
