My name is Mi and I am an addict. Second place I visited today for a cheese foam tea. Not going to lie, but totally decided to visit this place because of the cute logo and name. Doesn't hurt that they serve their drinks in premium plastic cups and lids. Now we tried the crema premium oolong tea and the pink lady, which is a strawberry drink with chia seeds. You can choose to add a crema (cream top- available in cheese or tiramisu flavor) to any drink. Strong tea flavors in both drinks, which is expected in an oolong tea, but a little surprising with the pink lady since I thought this was primarily a fruit drink. Now, onto the most important part, the crema - this is a more desserty type of cream. More sweet than savory, almost like a cream cheese frosting, but definitely not just a run of the mill type of cream wannabe cheese foam. I appreciated that, and was more and more into it the longer I sipped the drink. The texture of the cream is amongst the thickest of all I've tried, no complaints there. Service was fast. The server took our order and made all 4 of our drinks in a considerably short amount of time. Thumbs up for a short wait! Overall 4 stars since this is a solid drink place! I asked for 25% sweetness. There was A LOT of boba, 99% I slurped my drink, I always caught at least 1 boba. The sweetness was good for me. It wasn't bland but wasn't too sweet either. I ordered popcorn chicken today and let me tell you, it was SUPER hard to eat due to the amount of grease that was on the popcorn chicken. It looks like they cook it and just put it in the box. It's not your normal type popcorn chicken where it's crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside...its just pure SOGGY and covered in oil. And the worker said theyre popcorn chicken is premade so not sure if its already cooked or pre-seasoned but either way it was just gross....I couldnt finish it. This used to be my favorite drink place to go as it's close by where I work. I haven't been able to visit much during the pandemic. I've recently resumed working on site part-time on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there were a couple of times I took a detour to this place to get my favorite milk tea after I get off work, the place was closed early. On all webs they says the place closes at 8pm, but there was couple times I dropped by 20~30 min before 8, I couldn't get in. There were staff inside doing cleaning or something but they just ignored me when I knock. I don't know if they have changed management in the place over the past year or whether the store hours has not been updated. This is a total bummer. read more

This was my second time coming here and I still don't think this place is the best. It's very so so and their drinks are very sweet so if you don't care for quality tea flavor then this is for you. There's only one size available and it's a large which is fine. I went last night ordering 3 drinks. I was a bit upset about my drink because I ordered a Hokkaido milk tea w cheese foam and boba. I saw the barista making it and she forgot the boba and I noticed there was barely any cheese foam as tho she just gave me what was left in the container. so after she gave me the drink I kindly reminded her that my drink was supposed to have boba and so she scooped out the top half of the drink to get rid of the ice so she can make room for boba. And since she scooped out the top, you'd think she'd add the foam that must've been scooped out as well but when I told her that if they were out of cheese foam then I'm fine w sea salt foam and she responded w, "I already added the foam". I didn't wanna have to explain that she had scooped it out and I paid for every additional topping so I'd like to see it. I took my order and that was it. I just won't ever come back again. It's tea mixed in with orange juice, and I feel they don't use those artificial fruit syrups flavors. We also ordered the original milk frappe at 75% with pudding and brown sugar. It's still pretty sweet, so I'd suggest going 50%. It reminds me of those frosted milk drinks at half and half. The whole store smelled like bleach when we walked in. So I guess they clean regularly. I hate to be the party pooper, but I had high hopes with their 4 stars. We went on Friday night and place was dead. That should've been the clue (3 other boba shops we went that same night were packed + long lines) Decided on jasmine milk tea with light boba. Drink came out in reasonable time. There's really not a lot of boba places in the West Covina/Covina area that are all that great, but if you're looking for more innovative drinks, Uncle Tea is a solid spot to check out! I had the Ovaltine Tiramisu Cheese Foam Milk Tea, and the Thai Green Milk Tea. I'm not a fan of cheese foam drinks normally, as I find them overwhelming, but I really enjoyed this rendition. The coffee flavor from the tiramisu complemented the Ovaltine milk tea perfectly! I would actually get this again. If you're not super into sweet drinks, I would recommend this 1/2 sweet! I thought it was perfect that way! The Thai GMT is a good way to satisfy those Seaside Bakery cravings without having to drive all the way out to Newport Beach. Unfortunately, I do prefer the one at Seaside because the tea flavor is a lot stronger, despite being too sweet for me. The sweetness was perfect at Uncle Tea's though! I just prefer a stronger tea flavor. Despite Uncle Tea being a bit of a ways away from my house, I would definitely swing by again to try another drink! read more

Upon seeing the overall 4.5 star rating, I was excited to check this place out. Sad to say, I was disappointed and can't understand how the overall ratings are so high. Everything from pricing to quality was subpar. Most of the drinks on the menu were around $5 each. Sure the drinks come in hard plastic, but for the price they charged, I expected better quality. Ordered the Milk Tea Tiramisu Creama and Hawaii POG with agar boba (initially). The total for two drinks exceeded $10, which was really pricey. This was also after checking in on Yelp for 10% off. They also charge $0.50 for using a credit card if your total is under $10. The Milk Tea Tiramisu Creama was super thick and chunky at the top. The milk tea wasn't smooth in taste. The Hawaii POG contains passionfruit, orange and grapefruit. The first few sips were okay, but got more and more sour that it became unbearable. The agar boba had a crunchy but wrinkly feeling and wasn't to my liking. I ended up switching the Hawaii POG to Golden Orange. The manager was nice enough to make another drink for me. Although it wasn't sour, it wasn't too great either. It tasted like orange, but the tea flavor wasn't quite there. The inside of the store seemed pretty clean and bright, but paying over $10 for two drinks is just too much. Quality is not great and I feel there are better drinks with lower prices elsewhere. Skip the hype and get a better deal elsewhere. read more

So I just got out of Uncle Tea. I come here quite often because I have a 8 and 6 year old that love their Oreo latte, and I usually order their green tea frappe. This time I walked in with my boys as a treat after their long day at school. We are usually greeted with friendly staff, however this time we had a terrible staff member that took our order. I don't know what his name is, but he is thin, and has red hair. His attitude was very rude because my son asked him if we needed to wear our mask to which he replied, we prefer you too, but I won't have any contact with you so this time it's okay. Now what he didn't know is my sons have been wearing these masks for 2 years, they are so happy to finally be able to take them off because they wear them all day at school. What he also isn't aware of, is we already caught covid and I am fully vaccinated. He should really be trained on how to treat people walking in there to give their business. I'm sure the owner wouldn't appreciate losing more of their customers because of his poor attitude. After taking our order, another lady walks in, with a mask on, he takes her order and had the audacity to make her drink first. She was confused if it was her drink or mine ready because she clearly knew that I had been there longer, she asked him if it was my drink and he said no. So she took her drink and went on her way. When our drinks were ready, he simply placed them on the counter with our straws, didn't even say a word to us. My son said, mom I think our drinks are ready, which they were. I've never had such a terrible experience here and I've been here many many times because I also love to order cozy Thai cuisine right next door. The drinks come in a cute tall cup that I've never seen before. The cups look like the regular coffee cups, but in a taller skinnier version. Differently designed than the usual cups, nice to hold because it feels more like a water bottle size. The smoothies though, doesn't come in one of those cups. The milk teas do. Made this my new go to Tea place in town. They offer different types of drinks besides the classic boba and milk stuff. Now it's the new thing Crema, basically cheese foam to top your drink. I tried some out of the norm items and haven't been disappointed. -Golden Orange is refreshing -Lem Lem to me was alright, little too sour for me. -Crema Ovaltine now this one I like, but it's quite heavy. good Ovaltine flavor for the British in you and the cheese top made that much richer. I came to Uncle Tea not too long ago and I gotta say, this place really knows how to serve amazing boba! Their tea ratio is top-notch that you can actually taste a good amount of tea without taking away the essence of boba milk tea. I got their Vietnamese Coffee and Hokkaido Coffee while my girlfriend got the Jasmine Green Milk Tea. Simply delicious! I wish this place was a franchise so I don't have to travel too much to try more of their drinks, but I definitely don't regret coming out to West Co for Uncle Tea! I got the spring special "Strawberry Matcha Green Milk Tea" with boba. The strawberry was incredibly sweet and overpowering, even when mixed diligently with the matcha. The boba was okay. I was excited to try this place since black and white was no longer here. I came here on a Wednesday at around 2 pm. My friend and I walked in and stood behind a couple in line. The guy behind the counter took the couple's order and turned around to start on the drinks. He eventually turned around and saw that we were ready to order. I ordered the matcha milk tea with the creme and my cousin ordered the matcha milk tea with red bean. After we sat down we realized that the poor guy was by himself. He was in and out of the kitchen making food and drinks at the same time. It was just way too much work for one person especially when after we sat down, a couple more people slowly lined up at the register. It took almost 25-30 minutes to get our two drinks. Mind you, there was no one before the couple in front of us. Their food actually came out after our drinks so they waited a while. I mean I do see that they have a " now hiring" sign in front so maybe that's the reason why the poor guy was alone. Other than that, drinks were okay.
