Not so sure how to rate this place bc I came here on a late Saturday evening after eating at Mikiya next door. I wanted the matcha cheesecake but he quickly replied, "matcha sold out!" I should've just left but I felt obligated to make a purchase. I ordered the ube and original and it was quickly bagged and handed over. They must make a bunch a refrigerate it. I asked him how long is it good for and he said three days in the fridge. I tried a piece of each the next day at our hotel. It appeared a bit shriveled and soggy. Not sure how it's supposed to taste but it tasted very eggy but not too dense. I was expecting a more airy and sweet flavor vs eggy? Maybe I have to sample it immediately next time I purchase one and they better have matcha!

Service was quick and efficient. I ordered the original cheesecake. It was super fluffy, but also moist at the same time. Unsure how they're able to get it fluffy and creamy at the center. It was so good. I should've gotten other varieties. The store is small small definitely a takeout place.

When we walked in, the first thing the guy said to us was "What you want?" I was really taken aback by that but I ordered the cheesecake tarts anyways because they were on sale. Aside from that, the guy didn't look at us or speak to us at all during the encounter and he just asked us to pay. After we paid I asked for a bag to hold the cheesecake tarts and he stuck the bag at me. That service was really weird and unfriendly. Cheesecake tarts are good but the service was not nice.

Not a fan of this location. Located in Boston Chinatown, so I expected a tiny takeout spot with limited street parking or get here by MBTA. Go downstairs and you will see a small display. Compare to other Uncle Tetsu locations I've been to, this has gotten to be the worst. Cheesecakes are not the same size. Taste and textures lacks, when compare to other locations. However, this is the one and only Uncle Tetsu in Massachusetts so how does one compare? As you can see from my photos, their matcha cheesecake is significantly smaller than their original. I purchased 4 cheesecakes from this locations on the same day to give out. I have purchased many other cheesecakes at other locations in other states. Their egg tarts are more on the eggy side. It's fine but not to my personal liking. Maybe I was craving for a typical Hong Kong style dahn-tart. Just disappointed in their cheesecakes. I was traveling back home from Houston and wish I had gotten a bunch from Houston and brought it back home to Boston.

Uncle Tetsu is a tiny, takeout-only spot. The two times I visited, there was just one employee working, and she was hustling to keep everything moving smoothly which I can appreciate. The matcha cheese tart was creamy and delicious. The matcha cheesecake was light and airy. I also tried the caramel pudding which reminded me of the egg pudding you get in boba drinks - so good. Would definitely come back to try more desserts.

Location is a bit hidden but not hard to miss. To get to the shop, you need to go down some steps, so not accessible friendly. Spot was clean and offers it simple menu of cakes, tarts, and tofu pudding. There is no seating and had a small ordering section for to-go. Street parking is something to be mindful of because Chinatown is a hassle. Ordered some and kept in the fridge since we were already full from dinner but we really wanted to make sure we grabbed some easy tarts. They hold up very well in the fridge. The TARTS are just mini cheese cakes! Delicious and creamy! The chocolate tart was good and wasn't overly overpowering in chocolate and was perfectly subtle. It was my favorite~ the original one was also good and have no complaints ~ I definitely need to come back for the cake version!

Rating: 4.3 Stopped by quickly after dinner to grab some cheese cake but was very full so decided to try their cheese tart. It's a very small shop located on the streets of chinatown. You may miss it without the sign. You go down a small stair and small section of the shop is allocated to place order. They have cheese cake, tarts, tofu pudding and few other products. We just got their cheese tart. One original and chocolate. We were too full to eat that same day so we decided to keep it in a refrigerator overnight and tried it the next morning. The tarts were pretty good. Nice cookie like crust and sweet and savory cheese filling. I personally liked the original but my partner liked the chocolate on better. Chocolate one is not fully chocolate flavor and has some cheese flavor mixed in. Seemed to hold pretty well over night in refrigerator. The service was ok nothing special. Overall the place was pretty good. I'm interested in going back to try their signature cheese cake.

" A slice of Heaven " This cheesecake is fluffy , moist and just delicious. It's like cutting into a slice of heaven . I absolutely was not expecting this . But hello Japaneses Cheesecake. This cake with tax was about $16.00 . Parking is difficult but manageable. The service could be better the cashier is not chatty at all. The vibe is friendly and welcoming.

This has been all over social media so I had to stop by: I got the -original cheesecake: I liked this a lot, it was fluffy, cheesy and not too sweet ($14.95) for the price I thought it was reasonable. Making these takes a lot of eggs and they're easy to mess up! -matcha and original cheese tarts: I personally wasn't a fan of these because the tart was so so hard. The filling was a bit too sweet for my liking. ($3.95/one and $21.95/6 pieces) I would personally stick to the regular egg tarts from your local Asian bakery. Staff was very nice and friendly. The store smelled sooo delicious when walking in.

Always my guilty pleasure. their cheesecakes are so good. Typically I order their original cheesecake and am quite happy. This time I switched it up and ordered the matcha flavor and it was delicious! Unlike other cheesecakes these are much more airy and light. Still flavorful, but doesn't leave you as bloated in the same way a more dense cheesecake would.

Having had this several times now, I can confidently say that I still recommend this place!!! I recently ordered this for my colleagues at work, and they loveddddd it!!! Not only was it delicious AGAIN, and brought a lot of cheer to our work day at the hospital. I still haven't been to the physical location, so I can't comment on its ambiance, but the service and quality continue to remain very good!

I remember when Uncle Tetsu opened in Toronto around a decade ago. The craze had people lining up out the door for hours. Back then they only did the regular cheesecake for $10 CAD. So when uncle tetsu finally opened in Boston, I was 1) over the hype and 2) pleasantly surprised by their diverse menu. For one the prices have really risen, the cake now costs close to $20 USD. They have a lot of other small sweet treats. I saw a deal on UberEats and decided to try something different. The cake size from what I recall from almost a decade ago has definitely shrunk. But the chocolate cake was so soft, so airy, exactly how I remember it. The tarts tasted a little eggy for my taste. I don't like tasting the egg in my egg / cheese tart. Would I be back? Maybe. The cake is still great, but you can get the same in the frozen aisle for $5 at Trader Joes. Like I said, over the hype.

My partner and I got a cheesecake and single Madeline - TASTE: 4/5 - the cheesecake was light in sweetness. Didn't really get the honey flavor in the Madeline, was just alright TEXTURE: 5/5 - we microwaved both items, per the packaging instructions, which was a must. The cheesecake was super light, fluffy, and bouncy -- I was actually impressed lol. Wish the Madeline was more moist though PRICE: 4/5 - subtotal was $18 SERVING SIZE: 4/5 - the cheesecake is fairly small, and easy to devour for a small group SERVICE: 4/5 - empty inside when we walked in at 6:30pm on a Friday. Order was packed quickly ATMOSPHERE: 3/5 - most of the small, brightly colored space is dedicated to the open kitchen. No tables or chairs for dine-in TAKEOUT: 4/5 - the packaging is cute, and the cheesecake is actually wrapped in a cheesecloth or similar material PARKING: 4/5 - got a metered street spot near Essex St x Harrison Ave

Whether you're here for high-end sushi, creative small plates, or comforting kitchen dishes, everything is executed at a very high level. We ordered a massive spread, and almost every single dish was a hit. The Raw Bar & Sushi: * Oysters: These were 10/10. Incredibly fresh, perfectly halved, and meticulously cleaned--not a single piece of shell in sight. We loved them so much we had to go for a second round. * 8pc Omakase & 6pc Aburi Set: Both sets were fantastic. The Aburi (torched) set is a must-try for that smoky melt-in-your-mouth texture. * Uni Nigiri: Even my wife, who usually avoids raw fish, was won over by how creamy and fresh the Uni was. * Tuna Tataki: This was the only "just okay" dish for me. It had good flavor, but I think it would have been elevated with some shredded daikon and a colder temperature. Kitchen & Family Favorites: * Foie Gras Appetizer: Rich, decadent, and a perfect way to start the meal. * Sea Bass: My son absolutely loved this; he finished the entire portion with rice. * Snow Crab Roll: An excellent option for those who prefer cooked rolls. * Tonkotsu Ramen: We finished off the meal with a hot bowl of ramen, which was the perfect savory "topper" to a great dinner. The Experience: The service is efficient and the wait times for food were surprisingly short given how much we ordered. One of the biggest takeaways was the value. The pricing is very fair for this level of quality; back home in Nashville, a meal like this would have easily cost significantly more. The Verdict: While I would love to see a few more small, refreshing salad dishes on the menu to balance out the richness, I left extremely happy. This is a top-tier dining experience and a definite "must-visit" whenever I'm back in town!

XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! Overall I am beyond happy that I picked this spot for my birthday- I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Will definitely be back!

So we sat at the bar and grabbed a drink while searching for a place to get an actual dinner where we could find last-minute reservations. Shojo in Chinatown came up with great reviews and after looking at the menu and seeing that we could get a reservation, we headed over. It was a short walk from the Ritz and Chinatown is just such a fun place with great energy. When we walked in, we knew we had made the right call and were easily able to switch our reservation from a table to bar seats, which is always an added bonus. The place is low lit and the music is on the louder side, but nothing was excessive to the point that we didn't enjoy our time there. We ordered a variety of drinks while there - a Toki Highball draft, a spicy tequila drink with lemongrass, a few different types of Japanese whiskeys as well (they have a really extensive list). As far as food goes, they categorize their menu into Snacks, Baos, and Rice, Noodles, and Dumplings. There's a lot of vegetarian friendly options, which is always a plus for me. My highlights were the 7 vegetable stir fry, fried eggplant bao, edamame dumplings, and the Thai veggie spring rolls. The salt and pepper calamari was also really great. Everything was terrific and really unique. Service was good - not great, but they took notice of empty glasses and were quick to bring out food, so I have absolutely no complaints. Shojo is somewhere I'd absolutely return to when staying in the area, I'm really happy we all turned what would have been a very touristy, depressing experience into something with a WAY better vibe and time!
