Visited Le Cafe Bakery on 06/29/2026 after deciding not to eat another cafe spot in the area. I visited Le Cafe due to following up on a TikTok post that gave good reviews regarding Le Cafe. I placed an order using the kiosk there. I was in high hopes for the food to be delicious because the food reviews and images advertised it well. It wasn't too busy for a Monday afternoon. It was a quiet atmosphere. However after trying the food and drinks I can honestly say I probably won't be returning. I paid $43.00 just for few items and it was underwhelming to say the least. I took one tiny sip from my drink and asked to have it swapped for something that I would enjoy only to have been given a hard time about swapping the drinks & the drink I wanted it changed for couldn't be made & so after a while of pleading for a different drink , I asked for something else and it was just as gross as the first drink I tried. I swapped it for a caramel latte. Their beverages choices are minimal so if you're wanting to try something new I suggest not getting a drink if you're not 100% if you're going to like it . The drinks are all almost the same price ($7.25-7.55) , there's also an additional charge for iced drinks ? I had the hot ham and cheese and it wasn't "hot" at all. My partner got the other croissant and it also wasn't that great. The tiramisu egg tart was flavorless. Honestly not entirely happy with paying $43.00 for something I didn't entirely enjoy.

Extremely disappointing. I really don't know how Google Maps users gave it a 4.7? Bostonians, please eat something better... Caramel Cheese Croissant Tart: My top pick before trying it, I'd give it 4 out of 5. The cheese filling was molten and fragrant, but the downside was that it dripped all over my hands... the filling was way too watery and runny!!! The tart was cold, and the crust was hard and dry. Taro Mochi Milk Egg Tart: The crust was even thicker, cold, and hard, a common problem with petal-shaped tarts. But the more serious problem was its extreme blandness; the sweetness was almost entirely from the taro and glutinous rice itself, which greatly diminishes the aroma. Classic Milk Egg Tart: To be honest, by this point I had lost all desire to eat the crust. The filling was also completely not sweet enough, with no egg or milk aroma.

New bakery that caught my eye because of the gorgeous egg tarts! There's an order kiosk in the front and a few small tables. They also have lattes. They're running a special of buy 2 egg tarts and get 1 free. It didn't show up as free on the kiosk so I just asked them about it separately but the cashier asked for us to put it on the kiosk next time so they can keep track of their sales- I guess next time, let them know the third one isn't coming up as free before paying? I ordered a hot HK milk tea and it was very strong tea flavor and not too sweet. I like my milk tea a little creamier and sweeter but this would be good for someone who prefers the strong black tea flavor. We ordered the blueberry, taro, and soy milk egg tarts. All of them have the egg base on the bottom topped with the flavored cream. The soy milk and taro both had some mochi on the bottom. My favorite was the soy milk, and the taro tasted the sweetest out of the 3. The shell is basically flaky croissant, so a little different than normal egg tarts but still good! The bagels were really interesting- some had osmanthus and the other had rose fermented rice. It's definitely a unique offering!

The interior of the store was a pleasant surprise--quiet, clean, cozy. Having the choice of kiosk vs ordering directly was nice! The cashier greeted me right when I got in and was patient with my indecisive scrolling through the kiosk. Everything about the service and ambiance was great!! Loved that there was such an extensive array of drinks and baked goods! I got the rose bagel and cocoa chocolate with added boba, and my friend got the osmanthus jasmine milk tea and taro mochi bagel. Both of us agreed the drinks were a bit too unsweetened; my friend's osmanthus jasmine tea had good floral presence, but my cocoa drink lacked rich chocolatey depth and the boba was definitely subpar considering all the boba options around us in Chinatown. We both also agreed the bagels were super creative but lacked flavor and didn't have the bouncy texture of well-made bagels. Will be back to try other drinks and see if they're any better!

Tried out this hidden gem in Chinatown! Their taro mochi egg tart was PHENOMENAL when heated - definitely will be trying the others soon. The ube matcha was just okay - I've had better matchas and unfortunately couldn't taste the ube as much as I'd like (but it was very pretty)

Iced Rose Lychee Milk with Sweet Rice Wine

I tried two drinks already, and both are great. Strawberry Frappuccino tastes way better than Starbucks. Iced rose lychee milk with sweet rice wine was refreshing with a strong lychee taste. The bagels are beautiful, but more on the sweet side than savory. I ordered a pistachio bagel. Don't expect the bagel to be hot, but still soft. I will come back, but I'm still 3 minutes away from work. I wish there were a hot pastry.

Got there 930am. No pastry is available so dont open if pastry is not ready til one hour after!!! This really pissed off!!!! This drink pissed me off too! They didn't caramelized the foam for my creme Brulee Latte!!!! Don't sell it if you didn't do it correctly!!!!! A guy walk in at 935am using the kiosk ordering his pastry. He paid, and when the lady got his order, the lady that work there tell him pastry IS NOT READY AFTER 1 HOUR!!!! That's beyond unacceptable!!!

Le Cafe & Bakery is a smaller, welcoming cafe located right on the edge of Chinatown, making it a convenient spot to duck into. We stopped by in the afternoon when it wasn't too busy, though more people did trickle in as we stayed. The space has multiple tables and, a real bonus, plenty of charging ports at the seats, which makes it a genuinely good place to settle in and study or just relax in the area. We tried two drinks: an oolong tea and a matcha. The oolong was pretty good, it had a clear, nice taste and didn't feel watered down or overpowered by sweetness. The matcha was a standout; it had a strong, authentic matcha flavor that actually complemented the strawberry really well. The one thing that took us by surprise was that they blended the matcha drink, which we weren't expecting. It was more of a texture shock than anything, but it didn't hurt the taste or consistency at all. It's a solid, low-key option in the neighborhood for a quality matcha or other drink, especially if you're looking for a place to post up for a bit.

I dropped by bright and early at 9am on my way to work to grab a drink and a quick bite. I was really looking forward to trying their hojicha lava bun but unfortunately they didn't have any in stock? I settled on a lychee cream cheese bagel and a strawberry matcha latte. The latte was solid though I could do with just a bit more/stronger matcha. The bagel was just ok. I will say that it's nice that they toasted it but the lychee taste was too light and barely distinguishable in the cream cheese and the bagel itself was mediocre at best. I'll likely give them another shot just to try their lava buns but pass on the bagels.

I was able to check out this place on a weekday morning after seeing all the hype about these delicious looking bagels in Chinatown. The inside looks like a nice cafe and they have a kiosk for easy ordering. I decided to get the strawberry bagel and HK milk tea latte. Unfortunately, felt very disappointed after trying the strawberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The bagel was dry and tasted like it was baked yesterday and cream cheese filled today. It was taken out of the front and put in the oven to be toasted or reheated, but didn't do much. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but the latte wasn't bad since it wasn't too strong of a taste. It was made with their espresso machine which didn't take too long. Overall, I would recommend trying a different bagel if you come to this bakery.

The blueberry bagel I had that day was absolutely superb, probably the best blueberry bagel I've ever had in Boston. A few days later, I craved that same blueberry bagel and made the trip back, which is a considerable drive for me. Upon arrival, I was told that blueberry bagels are not offered every day and are only available on Thursdays. I returned the following Thursday, but the experience was very different. I got blueberry, poppy, and a few other bagels to take home. Unfortunately, all of them were absolutely disappointing. They tasted extremely off and very different from the blueberry bagel I had previously. At home, my family ate about half of what we purchased, but none of us had any desire to finish the rest. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. It felt like a completely different place compared to my first visit just a couple of weeks earlier. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed.

Bagels were perfectly soft and the schmear was delicious! I wasn't sure how I would feel about the concept of ripping the bagels and dipping it into the cream cheese, but I actually ended up preferring it - less messy and more cream cheese per bite. Prior to visiting Boston, I did my research on things to do and places to eat. Every search for…read morebreakfast spots mentioned Mike & Patty's as a must stop for the best breakfast sandwich you're going to get anywhere. Enough said! I'm a huge breakfast fanatic, especially a good breakfast sandwich or burrito. This is the original location that was started by two friends and has grown to multiple other locations since. We took an Uber here from our hotel. I imagine if you drive over here, parking will be a challenge. It's almost easy to miss. It sits on a corner of a brick building with just writing on the windows. In all my research I did not catch that it is the smallest restaurant in Boston at only 175 square feet. It's basically a room with most of the space taken by the tiny kitchen. There's also a little tiny ledge on the window with a couple of stools for those who may want to dine in. Customers including us took turns walking in and putting in our orders and then stepping out to make room for more people. It had a steady line the whole time we were there. Hours are limited from 7:30-2 so don't delay. Customer service was straight business, kind of the norm in Boston. Their menu is breakfast sandwiches, a couple of burritos and some lunch options like a turkey sandwich, BLT, or a Rueben. For sides, they have hashbrowns or a plain English muffin. For a small menu, they do have quite a few drink options like coffee, tea, juices, and different flavored milks including banana milk which I have never seen. For their food, they use high quality ingredients from local farms and purveyors and have their own bakery for their bread. My eyes fixated on the Breakfast Grilled Crack mainly for the name, but also all the ingredients looked tasty. It was quality eggs, bacon, four cheeses on sourdough bread. I went extra and added sausage to it as well. I also got OJ to wash it down. We realized our only option to eat comfortably was to go back to our hotel lobby to eat. Even with the travel time, the sandwich was nice and warm and the bread was still nice and crispy from the griddle. This sandwich was indeed one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had. I almost felt guilty eating it because of how rich and cheesy it was. I would skip the hash brown next time. It did not travel well nor did it have anything special going on with it. Hands down one of my favorite meals of the trip that I would absolutely do again if I am in the area.
