    Honey Walnut Prawn Salad

This place came highly recommended as an authentic Chinese restaurant. At first, I was a bit thrown off by the strong cigarette smoke in the restaurant (their smoke break area is an open space that directs the smell and smoke directly into the restaurant). We decided to stay in slight if the smell. Our server was very nice, prompt and informative. We ordered the honey walnut prawn salad and Peking spareribs which were both delicious. I had a glass of wine and my husband ordered an old faishioned which his said was just "ok". All-in-all, we would give them another chance. Both dishes were worth another try, for sure.

    Mu Shu and Mongolian Beef

Mandarin Triple Crown Taste was goon but the cornstarch made was really thick and clumpy, especially in the broccoli. Mu Shu Taste is good but there are around 4 wraps which isn't very much given the price. Mongolian beef Really on the salty side. I don't recommend ordering this without a large amount of rice. We had noodles and it was too much salt and didn't mask the flavor much. Singaporean noodle Noodles had a good amount and good curry flavor but the meat pieces are a bit dry Service was slow but ambiance was nice. Not a big fan and I feel like the food isn't very authentic, which is usually what I look for in a Chinese place.

    Chicken Chow Mein Skinny Noodle

Beef seemed a little overcooked and small pieces in the Broccoli Beef, Chicken Chow Mein pieces of chicken were also on the small side. Overall, just ok.

    Fried Rice [3.5 stars, $13]

Very tasty food, but rude management. We spent over $1000 and were treated very poorly. Will not return!!!

Do they do Peking Duck? Maybe for a special at Christmas?

Yes, Peking duck is on the regular menu although I think they need a little notice ahead of time unless you're willing to wait a while.

Their prices are reasonable for the quality of the dishes your service. The place is small so having family dinners in the restaurant would be tight but they are so efficient in having your take outs ready for you to enjoy at home. Staff is friendly and they work hard. I always tip well because I appreciate the great food my family and I enjoy.

I accidentally found Kung Fu Kitchen by reading another Yelper's reviews who was at the same Stretch Zone I was trying out in Clayton. Like others have mentioned, the shrimp is plump and succulent. I enjoyed the shrimp in my chow fun. The chow fun itself had good texture albeit too much soy sauce. The Hong Kong noodles were beautiful to look at and had everything you can imagine on it. There were two kinds of mushrooms, chicken, beef, sweet peas, shrimp and bok choy. The sauce in the Hong Kong noodles was not very strong but the amount of high quality toppings made up for it. The dry braised green beans had good crunch and there was a generous amount but the flavoring was also on the light side. This is good for people on low sodium diets. Both the Hong Kong noodle dish and the green bean dish were generously sized but the chow fun dish is more of a one person dish. They come on nice bright white plates. Prices were not cheap but it is the norm for the area. We paid close to 60 dollars after tip for three dishes at lunch and had some leftovers. They have very good lunch specials on the weekdays that give you plenty of food for about 13 dollars a person. People near us were enjoying their lunch specials. However, I advise taking to go on hot days because it was 95° inside the restaurant and there was no AC. I was wearing a thick hoodie today and it was pretty hot the entire time I was eating inside.

Really, no notes (I know from me that shocks most of you; granted you're justified in your expectations of such). Service is a little on the slow side but everyone is really nice and working hard so no dings there. One thing I'd love to see on the menu is steamed green beans with garlic. I adore those with XLB. Overall is it a Din Tai rip-off? I wouldn't say that, more like an homage for half the price and without the two hour wait. You won't leave disappointed or hungry. Give Dough Zone a shot.
