The cutest storefront off Hoffman St with outdoor seating. We came during the week on a Wednesday morning before 9. We experienced a minimal line and a spot to sit inside. The staff were nice. Plenty of options on the menu. My husband and I got the Caramel Silk. Very velvety and sweet - I typically like black coffee, but it was a fun treat. We split the Almond croissant - which seemed traditionally made with day old croissant and sweet frangipane filling; it fondly reminded me of my visit to Tartine in San Francisco. I snagged a drip coffee of Love Wins to go. Sadly was too acidic for my taste and tasted slightly burned. Overall, it was a nice stop before walking around downtown Saugatuck. read more

Amazon! I didn't even get to take a picture of all our food, that's how hungry we were lol. Tried 2 sandwiches, the ham and Gouda croissant was to die for, I added bacon to it and the spicy aïoli. The other sandwich I can't think of the name but it was also amazing full of toppings. We also tried one of their specialty lattes with caramel and white mocha, very good! The vegan carrot cake was very moist and full of toppings, they did not skimp on any walnuts or raisins. I liked Uncommon Coffee Roasters so much, I went there three times in two days while staying in Saugatuck! The inside is cozy and warm, and there's quite a bit of outdoor seating space. The employees were friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed the lattes I had throughout the weekend. You can get your drink hot, warm, or iced, which I thought was interesting - I'd never seen a "warm" option before! They have many different bags of coffee for purchase, it was tough to choose. I went with a half-caf blend for Nate since he sometimes makes a cup of coffee in the afternoon. On my second visit to Uncommon Coffee, I ordered a breakfast sandwich, aka one of my favorite foods. They had a few options but also a build your own section. I ordered egg, sausage, cheddar, and pesto aioli on a croissant. It was fantastic! The croissant was soft and flaky but not crispy so it didn't shed little croissant flakes everywhere. The egg was nicely cooked and the cheddar was melted. The pesto aioli added nice flavor, and the sausage patty was delicious. The whole thing was super hot and fresh - I actually burned my mouth because I was so excited to dive in. It was a perfect breakfast sandwich and I even thought about getting one for the drive home - I didn't, and I'm still kind of upset about it. Since we were last here, over a year ago, Uncommon Coffee really upped their baked goods game! I was so great to see the space overflowing with sweet quick breads (gluten free, too!), several types of muffins, scones, croissants, bagels, cookies, cakes, etc. They also added a few more syrup flavors (including lavender!) as well as some additional drinks on tap like kombucha, switchel, and nitro cold brew. During this visit I had their seasonal cold brew flavor with cinnamon and vanilla, an egg sandwich, and a banana pecan muffin for later. My husband got a lavender latte and the cherry almond scone. We stopped by here for a caffeine fix Sunday morning and I'm glad we did. The baristas were very nice and patient despite how busy it was. We ordered the lavender mint latte and a regular latte. Both were delicious and you could tell the beans used were high quality. There was ample seating available inside, however the patio was packed given the amazing weather. UCR was great. Absolutely gorgeous seating options, both inside and out, it's a great place to grab a cuppa and chat with friends. The staff were wickedly-friendly and helpful on multiple visits. We traveled with some gluten-free needs; and the first day they'd sold out of GF options by the time we arrived, and the staff kindly suggested ordering ahead online for the next day or that they'd even set something aside if we knew we were coming back. First issue was that this small bit of breakfast cost $16! Second issue, and we both agreed, was that the muffins were somehow virtually tasteless and most unsatisfying. This place was really cute. I've been to Saugatuck numerous times but had never stopped by. We were meeting some friends who were also in from out of town, and my friend suggested we meet up here for coffee/drinks. I'm not a coffee drinker but I scoped out the menu beforehand and they have a chai tea latte on the menu, so that's what I ordered. It was a bit pricey but on par with coffee shops in my area (metro Detroit) - about $6 for a large with almond milk (non-dairy milks are an upcharge). My boyfriend got a fancy coffee drink which was about the same, maybe $6-6.50. It ended up being about $15 with tip and tax, which is a bit much for two drinks but oh well. They have a nice indoor area to sit, or you can choose to sit in the garden area out back or the tables in front by the sidewalk. Our friends apparently were already in the garden area, but had wanted a front/sidewalk table, which we had snagged, so they came around to meet us. Best coffee shop in Saugatuck! They may be the only dedicated coffee shop but they are absolutely wonderful! Tons of seating indoors and out, plenty of retail items and a huge menu of food and coffee drinks. My absolute favorite part is their dog order window. Since they don't allow dogs inside (besides service animals), they built an order window that you can walk up to with your dog. As for their drinks, I had an almond milk chai. It tasted nothing like chai however. It honestly just tasted like cinnamon toast crunch cereal. It was delicious but not at all what I expected. Espresso was nice and smooth. I didn't love their nitro cold brew though but I don't like cold brew that much. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend. read more
