(attached) After accepting the quote and leaving my vehicle with him for the weekend, I was informed--without any work having begun--that the price had suddenly more than doubled. Vinny said it's for a rack for the amplifiers. When I expressed concern, he further stated that he couldn't provide an exact cost until he began the work. He attempted to downplay his initial proposal as merely an "estimate," despite it being presented as a formal quote with a detailed plan. I've never worked with an owner--particularly one who claims to have four decades in the industry--who couldn't provide a project cost within a reasonable margin of 15-20%. To see the price double after receiving a written proposal is deeply concerning. When I voiced my frustration, Vinny offered no apology, instead referencing his customers have "open wallets" and boasting about a $90,000 project currently underway in his shop. If you're comfortable with vague pricing and shifting estimates, this shop may suit your needs. However, given the abundance of reputable alternatives, I strongly advise against choosing this business. My experience suggests a lack of transparency and reliability, which could result in significant wasted time and unexpected expenses. Everyone knows a quote is a firm price & an estimate is an educated guess. Once a quote is accepted, it's usually considered a contract.

I wanted it done once, done right, and done by somebody who actually cared about the finished product. My first stop was a highly recommended Sacramento-area shop. They had my project hanging around for nearly two months before ultimately telling me they couldn't get the installation done. I tried another highly rated shop after that. Nothing particularly wrong happened, but after talking with them, I just didn't have that feeling that made me comfortable handing over my vehicle and a couple thousand dollars. Then one afternoon I walked into Audio916. Before I had even spoken with Sean, I overheard him talking to another customer who wanted an inexpensive off-brand radio installed. Sean explained that he simply doesn't operate that way. What caught my attention was essentially this: "I only install high-quality equipment. I'm not going to put something in your vehicle that I wouldn't put in my own." That told me everything I needed to know. When it was my turn, I explained what had happened with the other shops. Sean wasn't intimidated by the installation for one second. No BS. No sales pitch. No scratching his head. He knew exactly what needed to be done, explained the equipment he recommended, explained why, and gave me an extremely fair price. A few days later, he called and said all the parts were in. I dropped off my 2017 Ford Expedition. One day later, I picked it up. When I saw the finished installation, it was honestly like Christmas morning. ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE: NEVER TRUST GEEK SQUAD WITH IPHONE REPAIRS…read more Even though they are an authorized Apple service provider, dealing with the Geek Squad at this Vacaville location for an iPhone warranty repair has been an incredibly frustrating, incompetent mess from start to finish. I dropped my phone off on 8/16. I had already completed all advanced troubleshooting myself (restore and DFU mode) to fix a boot loop unsuccessfully. The Geek Squad agent, Abraham, couldn't get it to work either, so he determined the device needed to be shipped to an Apple service center. He did warn me that the turnaround would be 3-5 business days and that all my data would be wiped. If I could do it all over again, I would have walked out right then and gone straight to an official Apple Store. Why? For starters, Geek Squad does absolutely nothing except act as a useless middleman to ship your phone away. Unlike an actual Apple Store, Best Buy doesn't provide a loaner device, which left me digitally stranded without a phone for a full 10 days. Had I known they were just going to mail it out and let it drag on, I would have handled the shipping to the service center myself to avoid this massive delay and inconvenience. Instead of the promised 3-5 business days, the process took a full 10 days. According to official carrier tracking, the repaired phone was physically delivered back to the store and signed for by a Best Buy employee named Roman on 8/24 at 10:29 AM. Yet, when I went to the store two days later, they claimed they didn't have it. They tried to give me the runaround, making up nonsense excuses about needing to call Apple and have them provide a "new serial number". After I spent hours trying to call the store (Best Buy does not route any of the calls to the actual store), and escalated the issue to Apple Support to demand accountability, the store finally called me back with an excuse claiming the phone was "misdelivered to the PetSmart next door." Absolute BS. A courier doesn't drop off a secure, signature-required Apple service shipment at a pet store. They clearly just misplaced it in their own house and lied to cover up their internal tracking mess. To top it off, Apple swapped out the logic board, so my data is completely gone. At least that is one thing I can't blame the store for, but definetly some poopy icing on an already decaying cake. Geek Squad's internal logistics are a total joke, their communication is nonexistent, and their customer service is built entirely on excuses. Save yourself the massive headache and go straight to an actual Apple Store or handle the mail-in process yourself directly. Best Buy repairs plain suck, and I am staying away from Geek Squad for good.
