Definitely a solid happy hour cocktail. Of course, I had to check out the oysters! I tried both the Garlic Butter and Cajun Creole oysters. Both were flavorful and worth trying, but if I had to choose a favorite, the Garlic Butter stole the show! The buttery, garlicky goodness paired perfectly with the oysters. The Cajun Creole had a nice kick, but the Garlic Butter had me wanting another round. The atmosphere was nice for unwinding after work, making it a great spot to stop in for happy hour. Decided to join some friends for happy hour and we decided on Unforgettable located off of Washington Ave. They offer a decent array of cocktails, eats, and if you enjoy hookah, that too. On Mondays they do a Oyster special during their happy hour. A spacious place with 2 floors, ample seating, and nice decor - we had a good time. Patio seating is also there but was not available during the time we visited. Coming right after work (on a Monday) there weren't too many people there so we did expect our food to come out quickly, but there was still a wait. Cocktails were good but options are limited during happy hour. I selected the Soulfood Eggrolls - filled with greens, oxtails, and Mac and Cheese, French fries and an Apple Martini. Food menu, much like the drinks menu, is limited during happy hour. The Eggrolls weren't as flavorful as I thought they would have been, they were just ok. You do get a good portion for what you pay. Though there were barely any cars in the parking lot, and a sign for self-parking, they still wanted to charge for valet which was odd. I am writing to share my review of Unforgettable Kitchen and Cocktails based on my recent visit. Overall, the food was better than average, but I found the ambiance and atmosphere to be an issue. The establishment feels like a hybrid between a club and a bar rather than a traditional restaurant. Upon entry, bags are searched by security, which was unexpected. Once inside, the music volume is extremely high--to the point where it was difficult to have a conversation with the person sitting next to me. It even took the waitress some time to hear our order correctly due to the noise level. Regarding the meal, I ordered the Atlantic salmon, greens, and crab fried rice. There was a slight mix-up as I was served asparagus by mistake. For my drink, I had the non-alcoholic Strawberry Guava Refresher, and for dessert, I chose the bread pudding, which was delicious and earns an "A+." The interior is beautiful and great for photos, and there are both upstairs and downstairs patios. However, with the hookah and loud music, the venue feels more like a "kickback" or a pre-club spot. While the decor is lovely, the concept is a bit confusing for a dining experience, and it is not a place I would visit often, if at all, again. Staff; food; ambience.... 10s across the board! We made reservations two weeks prior for my cousins birthday who lives in TX but we all were traveling from VA. Reservation process was easy and the uber to the establishment was great. They offered valet parking in their secured lot for $10 and security was great. The check in process was super easy and staff was great. Our server was super cute, fun and efficient. She memorized our orders with changes and all. That was impressive! The decor was beautiful flowers everywhere from the time you stepped in even the bathroom. Perfect for a girls day and lots of pictures. We ordered a mimosa tower and hookah which came out fast. Not sure if it's a Texas thing but the attendant for our hookah came every 20ish minutes to tend to our coals and repack the hookah if needed for no additional charge. Virginia would never. This was so good. The food came out right after and this was EVERYTHING! If nothing else at least get a takeout order from this establishment. Between the three of us we had jerk lamb chops; eggs; potato; shrimp and grits and oxtail and grits. All absolutely delicious not one complaint. Food was so hot and fresh. There was a Dj during the time we were there for brunch and he really kept the energy going. He played everything from the 90s hip and R&B to current. He was super interactive with the tables which made it so much fun. He played cheetah girls at one point and everyone sang at the top of their lungs. Honestly, if you're looking for a lit brunch this place was a vibe! Parking: We ubered, but they have a small parking lot where it looks like you can self-park or opt-in for the valet option. Not sure of the price. Service: We made reservations for a Sunday afternoon, but when we came in around noon or so, there wasn't a wait yet and we were sat immediately without having to offer the reservation details. Our waitress (can't remember her name) was friendly and very attentive. Anytime we needed something, she wasn't hard to find and brought what we needed. Food came out super quickly as well. Ambiance: Very cute decor inside and opportunities for photo-ops. They also offered bottle service and signs for those that were there celebrating their birthdays! I came here with a group of 16 girls for a Galentines brunch. There were so many things that were either hit or miss. The whole vibe is giving gentrified day lounge/club. There are some cute photo op places like the mural at the entrance or the floral wall near the restrooms. Very "let me put this on my IG story." The food is tasty. Savory food is a little too salty and sweet foods a little too sweet for my liking, but if you're craving food that is indulging then you will like it. However, how is a main entree $15, but a tiny side of fruit $10?? Make it make sense. Price gauging on certain items is not cool, just make it fair across the board. Food was 4/5. Our server Semira was soooo sweet and handled our large party extremely well and with so much grace. Loved her. But then there were things that were just off. What is with the chairs for the tables??? Why are they too short for the high tables but then too tall for the short tables?! No one can eat comfortably without hunching over or feeling short (unless you are in a booth.) Super uncomfortable for eating. My biggest annoyance was the loudness of the music. Don't get me wrong... the DJ was fire and the music selection itself was poppin. I love that girls felt comfortable enough to have fun and twerk in some areas!! However, any brunch place should not have music so loud that I have to yell at the person sitting next to me. You can still have the music loud enough to where it's still fun, but people can talk. Last but not least- the mimosa towers. This was our biggest disappointment overall. We ordered 5 towers, @ $55/ea. That's $275. If a group of 16 girls is paying this much for alcohol, we better be stumbling out of that place (especially considering only 13 of us were actually drinking.) Visiting from Philly we wanted a day party environment but with delicious food and cute aesthetics for photos and Forget Me Not did not disappoint. Since there were 7 of us, I made a reservation for a Saturday at 11:15am. The reservation process was easily made online and I received a text message to confirm. When we arrived, we were promptly escorted to a table. We had the option of a booth or a low seated table with two smalls sofas. The issue with both was the lack of space for the seventh person. So we requested another option that took us upstairs. We were then seated at a table in front of the glass railing that overlooked the first floor. The seventh person had a seat but little access to the small table but she made due and utilized the seating space to hold her food. Not ideal but we worked with it. The food was fantastic and great portion sizes. This place did not get a five star rating because they REQUIRE you purchase a mimosa or casamigo tower. The number of towers depends on your party size. For 7 people, we were told we had to pay for a minimum of 2. We wanted to stay so we paid the cost which broke down to $21.66 per person since only 6 of 7 people drink alcohol. We would have preferred to buy individual drinks of our choosing which you can do in addition to the drink tower. The other reason this place did not receive a five star rating is the lack of space for larger parties. No matter where we were placed, the space was going to be an issue with everyone ordering food and having a drink tower (two in our case), it was not going to be comfortable. We enjoyed the food, danced to the mix played by the DJ, and received wonderful service from Chanel. I recommend this place for what it offers but for 2 hours (the maximum amount of time you are allotted at your table) you can endure a little discomfort because overall, I believe you will have a good time. I'm from NYC and had heard about this brunch spot, so of course, when I visited Houston, I had to try it. I was on a group birthday trip, and unfortunately, the experience went from bad to terrible. First, only five of us arrived initially, and we ordered our food right away. The rest of the group arrived about 15-20 minutes later and placed their orders as well. As their food started coming out, I noticed that my friend and I, who had ordered first, still hadn't received ours. I mentioned this multiple times to the waitress, yet nothing was done. It got to the point where someone in my group felt so bad that they gave me their food to eat--which, to be fair, was tasty. By this point, I no longer even wanted the Sliders and Caesar salad I had ordered 45 minutes to an hour ago. My friend still wanted her burger, but I was full from eating someone else's meal. I asked to speak with the manager due to the poor service, and the response I got was, "Are you joking or were you serious?" Why would I be? Instead of the manager, the owner's young son came over, which I never asked for, and he did nothing to address the situation. They decided to offer shots as a "gesture"--but only tequila, despite several people in my party not drinking tequila. I asked if we could have half VSOP shots instead, just so no one would get sick mixing liquors, and was told no. To make matters worse, I burned myself on the hookah, and instead of asking if I was okay, two employees immediately questioned how it happened. The first thing I needed was ice, not an interrogation. After repeatedly asking, one employee finally brought me some. At this point, between the terrible service, the burn on my arm (which the picture is posted), and the overall experience, I was over it and ready to go. You would think that, given everything that happened, the dinner would be comped--but nope. Instead, they told my party that the hookah had nothing to do with the dinner. Uhm... I got hurt in your establishment. If I decided to sue, I'm sure it would suddenly matter, right? It's not about the money--we all have good city jobs and could pay without an issue. It's about the principle and doing what's right. This place is clearly money-hungry and lacks professionalism. You know, I really do try to support black owned business but yall make it really hard and constantly remind me WHY I never want to. We initially had a reservation for 24 ppl for 1:30. Most of our ppl were late, and they require a party to be here in full in order to be sat. Understandable. We finally decide to sit with the amount of ppl we have at the time, which was 12. The hostess was kind enough to sit us in a spot that will seat 17 despite us being short a few ppl. While we are waiting to be sat, there is a full on brawl outside the front door. You see security and staff rush the door. They for some reason bring parties involved in the incident inside the restaurant. Mind you, the lobby is full. Nonetheless, We are sat, and told that our clock of 1.5 hrs starts as soon as we are sat. It's 2:15 pm. We are then approached by a server and told that this table was not for us and that we would be moving soon, she would come get us once the next spot is open. They were going to sit another party next to us. The spot they sat us and decided to divide has now been cut in half and no longer able to accommodate the 17 ppl. So we wait, and we wait and we wait. Mind you our 1.5 time limit is ticking. No one comes by the table. We finally flag the hostess down at 2:45 asking what the plan was? She said we were going to stay here and the server was confused and that our time would start over at this point. So we continue waiting.. 3 pm that same server comes over with water and says that the plan was still the same, we are moving. Waiting on another party to get up, which this party is across from us and it doesn't look like they are moving anywhere anytime soon. Then Made aware that the space they have reduced is not going to fit all of our ppl and our group is steadily increasing, she said there is nothing they can do.. time is still ticking thou, we have no drinks haven't been able to order and no one seems to know WTF is going on. The manager strolls over and tells us the same, but adds that actually the table they sat us at, is going to decrease again in size and one of our tables will be moved over to accommodate the next party.. we are still sitting here parched at the time. Everyone from their team continues to repeat the same verbiage and yet, no one has moved us and our tables has yet to be serviced. Being told the hostess sat us in the wrong place and they are going to have to move us, blah blah. I will update this review once we forward with the Experience.. be back! Lol It's 3:10. We now learn that they over booked their large parties today. And instead of allowing us to just remain here as we are already here, they are trying to sit a large party with the same amount of people at this time in this same spot INSTEAD of finding another spot for the large party that is in the lobby awaiting a able. Whew Chile, it's ghetto here 3:15, we were finally able to order and get things going. 3:50 the other party finally shows up and it happens to be friends of the server.. she even sits down to have drinks with them. I guess the young lady she was saving the table for, didn't want to sit over here and I could see her tell her " you better sit here, I have been through too much today to get you this table!" Bruh! all of this for an employee, I'm assuming given the amount of staff who came over to hug her and or bring shots over to take with her. Mind you had they just started ON Time with us, our 1.5 hour would have been over by now and she would have had more room as it looks like the space they were fighting so hard to accommodate for her is also too damn small for her party Per usual, they don't split checks, fine whatever. We asked my sister if anything was going to be done to compensate for the time and lack there of service we received today, she was told that a party of our size would have automatically been sat on the patio and she allowing us to stay inside at the table that was provided for us initially.. Oh absolutely. We're ending with grace... and a little sting. Here's the full version with a sharper closing line: I used to genuinely love this place, which makes writing this review disappointing. Unfortunately, something has changed -- and judging by recent reviews, I'm not the only one noticing it. We visited during Mardi Gras week after seeing the promotion for Fat Tuesday and a "free pound of crawfish." While the pound was not actually free (which we were fine with), the issues started from there. When our crawfish arrived, the portion was noticeably smaller than what we ordered. We were told they had run out, which might explain the shortage -- but instead of adjusting the portion or clearly communicating that beforehand, we were given the option to either send it back or pay for the smaller amount. When the bill arrived, however, we were charged for the full amount originally ordered ,not the reduced portion we received. After questioning it, I was told the crawfish had been properly weighed in the kitchen, and that management had been back there watching it be weighed. I ultimately had to show a video I took just to have the charge corrected. There was also a mandatory sausage add-on. For $5, the portion was roughly an inch long. I genuinely thought it was a garnish. Earlier in the evening, our table ordered boudin balls listed as fried. What arrived looked nothing like the description. When we politely asked about exchanging them, the manager approached without introducing herself and opened with, "What are you trying to do?" She later added, "How do I know you're not going to send anything else back?" which felt unnecessarily defensive considering we were simply asking for what was described on the menu. It's also worth noting that the restaurant was not busy. The manager had time to remain seated in a section rather than actively assisting guests, which made the lack of resolution and professionalism even more surprising. When the crawfish charge issue came up, we were initially told removing it wasn't possible because it was "policy." I didn't see that policy posted anywhere. Why would I pay for something that I never received? In what world does that make sense? This used to be one of my go-to spots, but based on this experience and what others are saying , unforgettable or whatever you are going by now is a hard NO. read more

I flew into Houston to see a once-in-a-lifetime R&B concert that featured nineteen classic acts from the 80s and 90s and got my heart broken due to the concert's cancellation. Therefore, I decided to go to Forget Me Not to see R&B singer Lloyd perform there. Parking in the main parking lot and valet costs 20.00 and 40.00, respectively. However, we parked in the grass field across the street, a short walk to the venue. Security and staff were professional and welcoming upon entry. Forget Me Not is a nice-sized club with upstairs and downstairs with sections all abound. There are so many sections that we wondered how Lloyd would perform because there's no stage or performing area. Lloyd would have had to stand on a couch or in the DJ booth to perform. What makes Forget Me Not memorable is the aesthetics. The nightclub/restaurant has a beautiful flower-covered wall, and beautiful photo opportunities are all over the club. My date and I took several pictures, and a photographer took photos of us, too. After the photographer took our pictures, a lady brought us four photogenic framed pictures, and my date and I had the arduous task of selecting the one we wanted. We agreed on the winner, and the picture and the nice frame provided excellent value at 20.00. Afterward, I asked the lady to have the photographer e-mail me a digital copy, and she took a photo of the picture we selected, and the photographer emailed me a copy. The venue was cramped and packed because unless you had a section, there was not much open space to stand. Fortunately, the staff allowed everyone with a wristband to go upstairs, so we went upstairs and had an excellent balcony view of the DJ and Lloyd and fellow singer Sammy when they arrived. The DJ played great music from the past and present, and I felt he did an excellent job of keeping the party going. My date and I left before Lloyd performed a ridiculous 20 minutes before the club closed. However, in LLoyd's defense, he wouldn't have been able to bring a live band or perform to his capacity ( Lloyd puts on an excellent live show) due to Forget Me Not not having a designated performance area. Forget Me Not chose the right name because you can have an unforgettable time and create unforgettable memories if you take photos there. I had not seen the flower wall beforehand, nor had my date. However, our outfits matched the wall perfectly, and we may be a match for each other for a lifetime. I highly recommend Forget Me Not. We enjoyed ourselves, took beautiful photos, and indulged in timeless music. I suggest you come photo-ready to capture some unforgettable pictures of your own. read more

Came here for a friend's birthday brunch. We dressed up as old ladies which was fun. We got many shout outs and I love that they have opportunities for you to get free shots. Love the aesthetics of the place very well decorated. Service was fine. No complaints with that. The food was really good which I was shocked. I ordered the catfish and grits. My only thing is I wished they gave you more sauce I had to wait for my waitress to come back around before I could finish my meal. The ambiance is pretty good. The food was okay. When it came out it was Luke warm. The utensils seem cheap. I had a steak and was not provided a steak knife so a lot of my food was wasted since I could not cut the fat away. The waitress was okay, but did not check on us enough. Forget me not I think not...really enjoyed our experience here. The birthday shout out was so pretty and cute!! The seafood gumbo was as delicious and made me happy like I did a little dance in my seat and was pissed I accidentally left my to go bowl lol. Our server was AMAZING!! We were celebrating our birthday and she made it that more special and made us feel important from beginning to end. We didn't even plan on staying as long as we did here but the R&B Friday night is definitely a vibe and my kind of scene. Yall!!! I'm so confused. What is this place trying to be? I have never been asked for 10$ for self park and 25$ for valet, then been patted down and then asked if I had a reservation. Mind blown, like where am i? Then the music is insanely loud. There are jumbo TV's everywhere like a sports bar but it has flowers everywhere. The girls are dressed like they work at hooters and they have hookah. Im confused, is this a upscale restaurant, sports bar, or a club? I ordered the Valentines crab cakes, they came out promptly but was way too salty. The old fashion was disgusting and the Henny Colada was diabetes in a glass. We got a hookah that wasn't pulling and the crab fried rice was just ok. It was more like rice cooked in chicken broth and some crab added.
