Unfortunately, my cut did not match the picture and it took about 5 weeks for my hair to grow out. So for my third cut; I showed a picture from my first cut and requested that style. It was way off. If you show a picture of the style you want and the results are way off, it's time to find a new shop. I was respectful, said my thank you and left a tip. To add insult to injury, my mom even noticed that the cut was off.

I showed the barber pictures, his wife translated, and he SEEMED to understand but at no point did he let me view myself from a mirror, thereby giving me little-to-no opportunity to give him some guidance. It sucks that haircuts cost almost $50 with tip but by me paying half price, I got half the quality. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for. You should only come to Yao's if your haircut only requires clippers because the moment this barber picks up scissors, you're doomed.

They all may be excellent barbers but except for Myrna and the other woman working there, the lack of basic courtesy is a valid reason to never go back or recommend this shop to anyone else.

I moved down to LA about two years ago and was bouncing around barbers until I got booked with Daniel (IG: danieldabarber211). He gave me the best haircut I've had since moving down, and I made sure to stay in touch with him ever since. He has a great attention to detail and a true passion for the craft. Not only are his cuts the best, but he's also one of the few barbers who actually took the time to learn about me and my interests during the cut (a lot of other barbers I've had tend to be quiet... which I may be partially to blame since I am a bit of a shy guy). It really transformed my experience of getting a haircut from a chore to something that I look forward to. The barber shop itself is very open and clean, and feels more like a place for friends to hang out in rather than a strict business. They have a pool table, beverages, and even weights lying around for those who are waiting around. For all you get, the prices they charge are fairly standard and totally worth your money. read more

I am always very punctual on how I would like my haircut depending on the occasion and he is always patient with me on what style I'm really trying to achieve. Rico is the only barber I go to and I travel all the way from North Hollywood. Worth it everytime. Shop is beautiful, cuts are beautiful. Make sure to book ahead because they do be busy and booked up. I recommend trying out this shop as all the barbers are good. read more
