I wanted this to be a stellar visit, but it turned out to be a visit where I seemed to have been forgotten. It was a long day, that when you add this experience into it, made it just a tad bit worse. Full disclosure, I came here for the Gordan Ramsay Street Burger, which is housed in the same space, just on the lower floor. When I walked in I was asked whether I wanted pizza or burger. Burger it was and then I was asked if I wanted to sit at the bar or table. I looked at the bar and saw how packed it was and said table. I had no idea at this time that there was a lower floor and another bar. If I would have known this, I would have said bar for that area, because what I got into, was really not what I expected. Should have been a red flag I picked up on. I was led to my table, a two top, and given a menu. I looked over the menu and had my selection picked out. I sat the menu down and waited for the server to come and take my order. However, this is where I should have known it wasn't going to be a good experience. While waiting other tables were sat and I notice my proximity to all the arcade games. The amount of times people played the basketball game gave me a headache by the time I left. So, back to those other tables that got sat after me, they were seen by the server before me. But he did eventually come and take my order. He was only going to take my drink order, but I told him I knew what I wanted to eat as well. I gave him my whole order, a water, a Sprite, and the Backyard (basically their version of a cheeseburger). I sat there and waited for anything to show up to my table. The tables sat after me were receiving their drinks and refills on those drinks. Nothing yet for me. I hadn't seen my server since he took my order come to my table. I saw him go back to other tables multiple times. Then a food runner brings me my burger (amazing food, but this review is solely for the service). She looked at me and asked if I needed anything else. I replied with I'd like my drinks. Stressing the S. She goes over to the server station and comes back with a Sprite, before I could say I ordered a water as well she was gone. I continued to watch the other tables and try to drown out the constant noise from the arcade games in hopes that the server would come back. He never did. I finished my food and rationed my drink until I was finished completely. This was when my server finally came back to the table. He asked me how everything was. I told him truthfully that the food was excellent, the service sucked. He gave a half-hearted apology and disappeared for the rest of my visit. When I said he disappeared, he had someone else, I assume the other server for this lower area, bring me my check. She went through the directions on how to pay and before she left, I asked to speak to a manager. I never do this, but this was just a horrible experience. The manager came over and I told him about the whole experience. I even stressed that I did not want the server to be in trouble. See, even though I was ignored, I paid attention to the fact that they only had two servers for this lower level. With my server having to oversee the bar as well. He assured me he was not in trouble but they would have a talk with him on when to ask for help. Honestly, manager man, I saw you serving food to this area, so you were well aware of this situation. I was about to pay before he showed up by using the QR code, but he informed me that they were going to comp my meal for the poor service. I was super excited to learn about this place and to order to eat while I binged some Gordon Ramsay shows! The Mambo # 5 was just weird. The sauce was okay, but strong. I realized it tasted like a more tangy McDonald's Big Mac sauce. The crispy chicken on top was good, but the sauce was not good after a bite or 2. The truffle pizza- amazing. Very glad I got meatballs on it. It had a great taste with the pear glaze. However, it was super soggy and watery- per the pictures. That demoted it for me. The Margharita pizza is a bit basic and boring, and highly recommend a specialty pizza. The Margherita pizza is very plain and doesn't have much flavor. I got 1/2 classic Margharita and 1/2 with onions and eggplant. The side with the toppings was the way to go! The seasonal limited-time Truffle White Pizza hit the spot! The roasted mushrooms, creamy white sauce, and truffle honey paired really well with savory and sweet flavors. While I was curious to try it with onions and added to 1/2 pizza, I actually didn't miss the onions on the other side. While the Charred Eggplant with garlic pesto and tomato sauce and pine nuts was flavorful, I noticed something was missing..cheese! , I wish there was some cheese. The Vegan 'Nduja & Zucchini with vegan meat, zucchini slices, pesto, onions, mozzarella cheese (I paid extra), topped with balsamic vinegar had a spicy kick! While the pizza looked like a beautiful work of art and the flavors blended fairly well together, the spiciness of the vegan meat overpowered the pizza. I do appreciate the creativity of the pizza and enjoyed the crunchy crust (it wasn't bland and didn't get hard when I reheated in the oven). The manager (Jonathan?) was pretty weird. Sending multiple people away saying it's reservation only. I went online and saw I could make a reservation right away and did so. This is actually a combined Street Pizza/Street Burger Gordon Ramsay restaurant that serves both burgers and pizza. I got the Hell's Kitchen burger and it was very good. My date also got a burger and seemed to enjoy it as well. The prices were reasonable all things considered. There are arcade games in the basement as well as a photo booth that was unfortunately out of service. There were a lot of kids occupying the arcade games but I suspect that won't be an issue later in the night-we were there pretty early. read more

When my friends and I ordered the two pizzas, both 'Nduja and Classic Margherita, they looked almost identical when they were given to us. However, the spicy 'nduja made all the difference and that itself was able to allow the two to be distinguished. In my opinion, the classic margherita was very mediocre. The tomato sauce had a weird artificial taste. There was very little fresh mozzarella so neither the flavor nor the texture was there. The basil pieces were so tiny that it didn't offer any flavor elevation. The 'nduja pizza had more depth to it because of the spiciness, which in a way also elevated the flavor of the tomato sauce because even if this pizza had almost the same ingredients as the classic margherita pizza, the tomato sauce did not taste artificial. I also felt like $18 for either pizza was slightly overpriced because the pizza slices were thin, which made the 12 inch pizza contain less ingredients than there normally would be for a pizza of such size. The only thing that could have made it a better experience would be if Gordon himself came and tossed a pizza on the table. I have been here several times and had the burgers, the pizza, and the wings. The wings are a must order; the sauce makes me mad they don't sell it as a take home. The place's atmosphere is casual; there are often games on and video games in the lower level. The staff move at a European pace. so take your time and enjoy. Their manager is top notch. The "social hour" here (what they call HH) is from 3-6PM Mon-Fri, and if you live/work in DC, it's pretty much a no-brainer. The "Hotter Than Hell" fries? A1. Somehow a basket of French fries coated in a gooey cheesy mix of hot sauce and peppers comes together beautifullyyyyyy. They're sooooo yummy. In terms of drinks? This is a review for the burger part of this place. On DoorDash (maybe others too?), there's now a thing called "Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay." Just another new delivery-only bullshit operating out of this spot's kitchen. Two burgers (which included fries) and a 6-piece wing was over $60 total for delivery. We had high hopes. But Gordon himself would never these things to be delivered. The burger to bun ratio was off. Much more bun than burger. Now, this happens often. But he has, literally, yelled at chefs about this. So that was a let down. All of the burgers are advertised as smash burgers. So each burger has two patties, which is nice. We were feeling fancy, so we went for the more "unusual" choices. I had the blue cheese burger with red ions and balsamic glaze. George C. got the burger with mushrooms. The burgers were good. Just not great. And not worth the price. We expected more. The fries (which come with the burger) were meh. Undercooked and not seasoned in any way. Any dipping sauce was an additional $3 for a teeny tiny half-filled cup. We also order a 6-piece of the wings, at the hottest level. Spoiler: they were not hot. They barely had any sauce on them. And the drums were overcooked and the flats were undercooked. Dipping sauce? Not included, that's an extra $3. What little sauce there was did seem tasty. It just... Should've been so much better. Gordon needs to come secret service this restaurant and figure out whatever is going on. Still giving it 3 stars because the burgers were good. Better than Wendy's, for example. But they fell short of the many other quick casual places around town. And the burger ratio just felt sloppy. We ate the burgers. We weren't unhappy about it. We just weren't happy either. Street Pizza by Gordon Ramsey. This take of a "sports bar" by Gordon Ramsey is a good addition to DC. The pizza was very good and had top quality ingredients. The wings also surprised me as to how good they were, the quality of wings was top notch. The customer service was alright, while the servers were nice it was weird because we did not have one set person helping us, it felt like we were talking to someone different every 5 minutes. Also, the bartender was the one taking our order even though we were at a table, so it was hard sometimes when we had to wait for him to finish making drinks for us to ask for something. He did make us drinks which were good. The restaurant itself is very nice, with a bar and a bunch of tables upstairs while downstairs having another bar area (which was closed) with arcade games and a pool table which were free to play. The ambiance definitely had a sports bar feel to it. While the food is a bit pricy due to the Ramsey name, pizzas being almost $20 each and a 6 piece wing being $14, the restaurant itself and what you're getting with it made it worth the visit. read more

I am a fan of Ramsey restaurants and have tried numerous on the west and east coasts. This restaurant is located in China Town with great proximity to events, venues, and entertainment. I was definitely disappointed though. My husbands burger was juicy and beautiful, but mine was so hard and dry that I couldn't even eat it! I asked for it to be remade, but eventually opted out of eating here entirely. I couldn't believe they let the burger leave the kitchen this way! Anyway, the fries were GREAT! We enjoyed it! Toppings were fresh and the crust was crunchy! Next time I would add red pepper flakes for that flavor contrast it lacked. Service was friendly. It started well but could have been better. We called in an hour early to see if they can fit 14 people and they stated they could but with two separate tables. That was fine with us. But once we set down and used the restroom downstairs, it seemed like they could have fit all of us together in their bigger basement space. However, all was fine until they started missing items during service. My dad's drink was missed and we couldn't get hold of a staff for a while as they were just running around and focused on their aspect. One of our tables also got pitchers but no glasses to go along with it. Lastly, at the end we asked for a pizza box and got a deeper non-pizza box. Small things like these led to my rating. Also note that it wasn't particularly busy when we visited the restaurant. Food - 1.25/2 We order few of the pizzas and couple of the vegan bites. The vegan bites were okay. Sauces were decent in taste. But the pizzas were a letdown. Margherita pizza was my favorite but could have used just a bit more cheese. There were few slices with no cheese or barely a speck of cheese in there in one of the margheritas. The eggplant with added cheese was also okay. It has potential, especially if they added the balsamic drizzle on it. The vegan Nduja, I had high hopes. But there just was some bitter taste to it that didn't sit with me well. The dough/crust for all were great. They were not overly oily but could have used some crunch to it. All the pizzas sagged but were not supposed to be NY style so that was odd. Setting - 1/1.5 There is ample space in this location with basement having some additional tables as well. They very well could have fitted us in one long table downstairs but they missed the mark there. The mumbo #5 pizza was absolutely excellent. Flavorful and perfectly cooked. The "hotter than hell" wings could have truly been passed off as a very good mild wing that those who didn't like heat could easily endure. I asked about the outdated signage up front and they said it still applied. When I ordered I asked again if the specials were still a thing...and the waitress said yes. Got my tab and the beer was full price. When asked, they said it was "only on modelo." My friend and I stopped by on a late night dinner on a weekday. They feature an arcade and a pool that are free to play. When you walk in theres a DJ booth, large bar + games to the left. Then a wide open dining area with an open kitchen to the right. We ordered everything from the mumbo wings, Caesar salad, sticky toffee waffle, corn + chorizo, pepperoni pizzas. The ingredients were fresh and the crust had a nice char to it. Shoutout to Blake for taking great care of us. He was so attentive, welcoming and knew everything about the menu. We really enjoyed our experience here. It was an elevated pizza restaurant with a nice variety of menu items. Each dish had something unique about it. The restaurant itself during dinner time is very dark and theres minimal lighting. I would definitely come here to enjoy some games, watch some sports and enjoy some pizza. read more
