Line to get in was crazy long but I made it. Even got a free bottle of water while in line. The store was clean, bright and easy to browse. All the staff inside were kind and helpful. My favorite was the Doraemon X Uniqlo collaboration. Grabbed some Doraemon T-shirts and even managed to grab one of the last limited edition Doraemon Plush! Victory! The price of the t-shirts were pretty inexpensive. Quality of t-shirts were very nice. Glad this store finally made it to Hawaii! read more

COVID safety measures are commendable. Sanitizer at the entrances, sanitized shopping bags, limiting the number of shoppers, and social distancing at the checkout line. But they are back to not participating in the app, like it was when they first opened. Last time I was here, there were signs inviting shoppers to download the app and now back to not participating. What is the deal here? When they first opened I was told it was because the register system was incompatible. Now what is the excuse? Beautiful store with some really cute, functional clothing. BUT- Customer Service: I received a gift that was from UNIQLO, & came in to exchange the size and color. First I asked someone upstairs if they had my size. She checked her scanner and said they had some but it was downstairs. She was great- She went down to get it for me and came right back. After she walked away, I tried it on but noticed there was a stain on it. Instead of finding the same girl and asking again, I went downstairs to check for another one myself. I couldn't find my size but there was a higher rack near the ceiling that I couldn't reach. I asked a different guy downstairs if they had any more because there's a stain on the one I was given. He said they have more in stock but it might be upstairs. He left to go check and I stood there for a good 15 minutes. He came back downstairs with no jacket in hand and started working on something else with his co-worker. Uh, hello? We made eye contact and then he remembered that we were waiting on him. He said they actually don't have any more but they were trying to get the stain out. Fine. He went to check on it. Another 10 minutes and he came back and DID THE SAME THING. Walked by us like we weren't waiting on him. My fiancé approached him again and he was like "oh there you are" like he hadn't just walked right past us. Apparently they couldn't get the stain out so he told us to come back, but couldn't tell us when or even give us a definite time frame. I was so irritated so I just returned the gift. Good thing I was with the person who bought it for me so we could get our actual money back and not settle for store credit. I literally spent 25 minutes just standing there when all the dude had to say was "sorry we don't have it" or "sorry we can't get the stain out" and we would've been on our way. read more

I have been obsessed with Uniqlo ever since I slipped on my first pair of Airisms from the Osaka store. I have to say that as soon as I saw the fact a store was opening here I got super excited! ... Then I went into their Uniqlo pop up store and thought that was what they meant and oh man what a big giant disappointment that place was. NEVER FEAR!!! They just opened a full blown store this past week and oh man it is everything I have dreamed of and more. Low prices, good fits, fun designs, and they even have an aloha themed line of clothes just for this location. The even bigger shock was looking up at their video walls and seeing the fact that they took the time to film some local promo clips here in Hawaii on a Kalo farm. Pretty sure I will be coming here frequently for all clothing needs from now on... The only down side was that the staff was tooooo friendly trying to give me a bag every 3 seconds.. I'll pass that off on the new store excitement though. They are on the 3rd floor now in front of the Nordstrom so go check them out! read more

The workers here are friendly and helpful. Many of the designs and cuts are simple, but effective comfortable and affordable. One of the details that I love is the pockets on many of the t-shirts and dresses. But beware that many of the items are "line dry" and can otherwise shrink a lot. Just a no. I purchased items in New Jersey a few days before Hawaii opened. Well the two stores are not connected and to return items from New Jersey, I would have to return them to a North American store or ship it back to the warehouse. They said this is stated on the website. I'm sorry, but it says that here in Hawaii but it does not state that in New Jersey prior to the existence of the Hawaii store. I understand this is by no fault the customer service agent or the store manager, but I am reviewing the chain as a whole. I can't imagine anyone paying very close attention to the fine print that a chain store isn't actually connected. However, I hope if anyone does come across this review, they are aware the stores don't accept cross-store returns. read more

The store itself is nice, clean and brightly lit if that's the sort of thing you're into. My biggest gripe with this store boils down to just 1 thing: sizes. If you wear a size larger than large, save yourself the irritation of having to dig through piles of smalls and mediums. They do not carry sizes larger than large! Anything beyond that and you'll have to shop their website instead. What insanity is this? It also helps to see workers looking rather glum. They don't seems to like being there or maybe it was because we did not look the tourist types, so we weren't worth assisting in anyway. I love Uniqlo Japan and was very glad that they opened a store in Hawaii. However their alteration service needs improving and here's why. Uniqlo now sells all of the men's chino pants in one length 34". They offer an alteration service to shorten the pants for free. The altered pants I received was much shorter than when I had it fitted. Normally they do not refund or exchange altered clothing. However they agreed to replace my pants and do the alteration again. The second time the pants were too long and the quality of stitching was poor. I went to a professional instead and what I paid to have three pairs altered could have bought me an extra pair. Please improve the alterations department or sell your pants in different lengths. read more

New, hip clothing store in Ala Moana, near Nordstrom. From the outside it looks tiny, but inside it's actually huge. Three floors up huge. I didn't get a thorough look around but from what I did see there is one fitting room on the first floor. Kids clothing on first floor too. Second floor is small but lots of anime character shirts for men. Third floor is where the checkouts are. Seems like both first and third level have both men's and women's clothing so I couldn't really understand the layout. On the third floor when we went to check out there's a stanchion to lead the queue but not very well. Overall I think the store could use some work in signage. I don't think there were any signs or directory telling what's on what level. For the brief time I spent in there picking out shirts for my kids, seemed like there's no rhyme or reason to the store's layout. I got highly confused with one of the signs in the anime tee shelving. I went up and down the stairs at least 3 different times, even took pictures of the shelves to try and understand exactly which ones were included in the sale. The staff were all helpful and friendly even after all my frustrations with the sale sign. With sale prices and quality of the clothing it's really good value for money. Even the regular prices seem affordable and fair as well. I do have to say though, it's a trap having all the registers on the very top floor, well played UNIQLO. read more

What is there not to like about Uniqlo? Uniqlo is my go to store for basics. The sizes are asian sizes so the products are not overly large. I guess that says something about the current culture and society that we live in which needs to "super size" it. The prices are reasonable and styles are plentiful. Also, the down jackets are amazing. Note that some styles sold at stores are regional. And although a store/region sells the same product, you may not be able to return nor exchange due to the product sku not matching or in the inventory. But besides that, happy shopping. read more

So was just into Ala Moana NEW store located near Nordstorm. I would like to thank the Local guy that helped me, but seems that the higher ups need to get with Hawaii's style or READ there own return policy. Manager and/or Assistant Manager argued the fact to return $0.11 cents on a gift card and/or return it in cash. Instead he wanted me to purchase more items so he didn't have to go thru the trouble of doing so. Local guy already had the $0.11 cents out of the register so he finally agreed since I was getting irritable after spending over $75.00+ which was given to me as a gift. Yes, it wasn't much but a principal of Customer service and knowing your own terms... All returns made with a gift receipt will be returned for a store merchandise gift card. Here's what is listed on the Uniqlo website: Returns will not be accepted without an original purchase receipt. All merchandise must be returned in the original selling condition and include the original product packaging, tags, and labels. Ordered 2 items online after receiving them the items were not that nice. Went to return them store person said he can't take it back as it was a new item they didn't have in stock. Had to send it back in the mail with Uni glo deducting 7.00 return fee .. wanted to return several more items which also did not fit clerk did not want to give us a store credit we had to purchase a store item at the time of return'. They didn't have the pants I wanted so I lost out and got something else that I really didn't want. Sized right for Hawai'i I had never been, but my sister gave thumbs up to Uniqlo because they carry lots of S & XS, and their lines are clean. When I found that the new Hawaii store had unique items, I had to check it out. The tank dress with built in bra is genius! And cotton to boot. Some interesting graphics. Lots of rayon and rayon blends. Not bad for fast fashion. If Ikea went in for fashion, I have the feeling it would look a lot like Uniqlo. Help was nice, but not obtrusive. They were very helpful in the fitting rooms, and remind you to lock the dressing room doors. I wish they had some mirrors outside the individual rooms, so you could get a better look at yourself. read more

Uniqlo has the worst return policy during Covid-19 pandemic. They would not allow try on at the store. After spending over two thousands dollars of Merchandise, they won't allow to return one items that did not fit because the one tag is missing. Each trip back to Japan always included at least four different stops into several Uniqlo stores. The affinity I have for this company led me to believe... Why, in the one of the most visited destinations of Japanese tourists -- Hawai'i -- has a Uniqlo store not made itself home? In 2017, news came out that Uniqlo would be opening its first Hawai'i store, on the island of Oahu, at Ala Moana Center. I was beyond excited. Early this year their pop-up store opened, which carried mostly graphic tees, and a few other clothing options to tease the opening of their main store. On September 28th, the main store opened and you can bet I made it. Uniqlo offers nothing but quality-made clothes at very affordable prices. They carry clothes for women, men, and children. Shirts, blouses, tshirts, shorts, jean, pants, jeggings, warm clothing, underwear, sunglasses, and exclusive to Hawai'i -- aloha shirts. Of preference are their long sleeve shirts, undershirts, shorts, jeggings, and underwear. I still proudly wear my clothes from my first visit five years ago. The staff is friendly, happy to offer assistance and answer questions. Their uniforms are on-point, especially the yukatas. The store is beautiful. Everything about this store is a great representation of Japan's ethics. I love Uniqlo! read more

I was minding my own business and picking out christmas gifts for my family and the store didnt have the AC on because its always broken. I lifted my mask for a SECOND TO BREATHE AND NO ONE WAS EVEN AROUND ME . One of the workers said REALLY LOUDLY "I NEED YOU TO PUT YOUR MASK ON " . How we supposed to breathe with the mask on in here when theres no AC ?! You might as well close the damn store at that point until the AC is running. read more

They partner with other well known brands, icons, artists, etc to create limited edition clothing lines that you have to buy now or say bye. While I have waaaaay too many shirts, I still walked in and came out with a shirt. Ugh. So weak. But who can resist a t shirt where the pocket is the iconic Japanese wood block print mountain??? Uniqlo pop up at the top of the escalator by center stage is a great marketing tool to get the public excited and informed about their real store opening in the Fall by Nordstrom. They have a large selection of t-shirts. Many different collections, some include mid century modern iconic designs, Disney, Japanese designs, pop culture, etc. Each around $15. They seem to be pretty good quality also. The line can get long but does move rather quickly. Can't wait for the flagship to open later this year. read more

I've always had amazing experiences at UNIQLO. However, I recently went and realized that would be my final time ever buying from them again. Jessica, with the bad acne, decided to take her frustrations of the day out on me. She badgered me and spoke to me in the most condescending way. Which by the way, she was not even my cashier. She chose to present herself into our conversation, just to raise her voice at me and not help me find my items. I will never be a customer of UNIQLO again. This is right across from North Face, on the Nordstrom side. There are 2 levels with a variety of clothes that you are used to seeing in other Uniqlo stores. The difference with this one is that they also sell Hawaii exclusive clothing, which you will not find in any other Uniqlo stores. The prices are reasonable for certain kinds of clothing. The materials of their clothes are good as it is of the Japanese standard. Check it out if you like good clothing for reasonable prices. Some of the sizes are just too small for an average American. Personally I like the clothes they sell and I would go back to get more but I feel like customer service could use some major work. When I walked in the greeter yelled "Welcome!" but quickly looked down at the clothes in front of her. It looked like she was opening packages of maybe shipment? I've been there a few times and when I'm looking for something in a huge store with three floors, it could be hard finding something especially when things have been moved around. I passed by many of the workers and not one offered to help. We make eye contact but they would walk away quickly as if they're too busy doing something else so it made me feel uncomfortable to ask for help. Other workers were too busy folding and looked like they didn't want to be there but more so I could have spent more money if I had the help I needed finding what I was looking for. I also shopped a few days after the Kaws event and I stood with a crowd waiting for an associate to come by and help us get sizes down from the higher hanging section. No one came to help but one of the customers got irritated and grabbed the ladder near by and started handing out the sizes everyone was looking for and when I got my shirt and turned around the associate was in an aisle folding shirts. As the crowd started to clear she then walked over to grab the ladder and put it away. I used to work in retail and all they would stress to us is good customer service. Uniqlo seems like they don't care about their customers. I only rated 2 stars because I like the clothes. Adding on to the bad customer service, Hawaii is in a heatwave right now, why is the AC not working? I walked in last week and it wasn't working and again today and it wasn't working. Worst customer service and no Aloha...I got to the store 1 MINUTE after close...still saw people shopping in the store so I asked the sales girl if she could let me in because I knew what I wanted (having called the store ahead to make sure they had the item.) She said NO, you can come back tomorrow at 10 am when they reopen. I get it...the 1 minute thing...close is close...but, I work at an airline and just got off of work where a family of 10 missed our door and flight closure. With ALOHA, since we just closed, we reopened to allow them to board...now that's ALOHA and good business practice. I think they need to train their staff with better customer service and thinking skills, especially since its the holiday season! read more

I've only written a few yelp reviews ever, but today's experience was so bad I have to share this feedback. Uniqlo is one of my absolute favorite stores, in fact my first time ever in one was when they first opened their US location in San Francisco and I was there opening day by chance, and instantly fell in love, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out they were opening here in Hawaii. This was my second time in the store and while I spent a good amount of money there, I was disappointed. First, the store had no air conditioning. For a 3 story store to have literally no air in the store, when its record breaking heat and temperatures, is just bizarre. No signs, nothing. It felt like a sauna. After being in the store for only 20 minutes, I had to cash out because it was so that hot. Second, I like that they have their prices and item description above the display so it's easy to navigate throughout the store. What's disappointing is in small print it shows the size range that the item comes in. For the items I was looking for, the signs had 2XL for shirts and even for pants. As a 6'2 guy, this was a breath of fresh air to find a place that makes sizes I can fit and not look baggy. That changed when I went to look for my size. The sign says it goes up to 2XL but all I saw was LG as the biggest. I started to get upset because I could find literally nothing, and when I asked an associate if they had the sizes in the back, the response was "We don't carry that size in store" and my jaw dropped. I kindly pointed out the sign showing the range and she just reiterated that they don't carry it. She didn't even offer to go back and check or seemed to care. It honestly made me feel horrible for even asking and slightly embarrassed. Third, the customer service staff could use more training. While I was greeted at the door, the staff was busy folding and making the displays nice, which I get, I used to work in retail and know how important it is to keep everything tidy. What was frustrating was I had my arms full of items I wanted to purchase and would be in an aisle with 3 associates restocking and trying to pull a pair of jeans from the bottom of the stack and was struggling, and not one of them seemed to ask if I needed help, they literally just looked at me and continued with what they were doing. When I got to the register and placed everything on the counter to pay, the cashier looked flustered and went uhm ok, that's a lot of stuff, you have 8 items is that right? And got flustered for some odd reason and then said something to herself and said "you know what, never mind, forget it", and I'm standing there just wanting to get out. Overall my experience was not the best, and I think I'll just stick to ordering online. read more
