I strongly recommend staying away from Hillsborough Auto Sales. I bought a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze…read morefrom them for my younger sister after we specifically asked whether the vehicle had any issues and were told that it did not. Within only two days, the vehicle began idling roughly, the check engine light came on, and my sister noticed a strong oil smell and oil leaking around the engine. We gave the dealership an opportunity to fix the vehicle. They claimed the problem was the fuel injectors, said they repaired them, and returned the vehicle to my sister, telling her it was "good to go." That same day, smoke began coming from under the hood. The following day, heavy smoke entered the vehicle through the air-conditioning system while my sister and her newborn daughter were inside. This was dangerous and completely unacceptable. I had Midas perform a diagnostic inspection, and they found oil leaking from several locations, including the valve cover, timing cover, oil pan, rear main seal, and oil cooler housing. Their technician specifically documented that these were "not fresh oil leaks" and that the vehicle had been leaking for quite some time. Despite this, the dealership refused to take responsibility, provide a refund, or cover the necessary repairs. I am including photos of the oil leaks because people deserve to see the condition of the vehicle we were sold. Returning the vehicle after an unsuccessful repair and saying it was safe to drive put my sister and newborn niece in a dangerous situation. Based on our experience, I would never purchase another vehicle from Hillsborough Auto Sales, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I reviewed the information on carsunlimited.com and honestly thought it was too good to be true. I am happy to say the entire experience exceeded my expectations. The quality of the vehicle, the ease of buying, and the level of service throughout the process and afterward were above and beyond. Allen, Jamie, and Justin are exceptional. As time has passed, a couple of typical things have come up with the vehicle, and the support I've received has been outstanding. In a world where getting straightforward, honest information is rare, Cars Unlimited has been a dependable foundation I can trust. Their commitment doesn't end at the sale -- and that ongoing support has been truly invaluable. Choosing them remains one of the best decisions I've made.

I wished I still had the pickup today, but things happen for a reason. I do look back on his website from time to time to see if he has anything else interesting to buy. Was contacted by them about 4-5 days from this date, and we got to talking via text. Uber convenient for me. When I came in, he already had everything ready. I had applied for credit online, so I had a jump start with that. Went out and test drove it, came back, pointed out an issue, they got right on to fixing it. They did their best for me. Very professional, very personal - everyone in that office greeted me, whether they were working with me or not. I spoke with at least three of the guys for at least 15mins. Not just about the deal either, but they struck up engaging conversation, and they had a great sense of humor. They weren't haggling me. They seemed like they really wanted to help. It wasn't just about getting the money. I wanted to walk out with the car that day, and they wanted the same thing. We all made it happen. I would recommend this location and these guys to anyone. I'm so glad that I decided to go with them instead of the dealership. No haggling for prices, they work with you and they really want the best experience. Good selection of cars, very clean and professional, quiet, comfortable lobby, water and coffee available.

I have been a customer of Toyota of Tampa Bay since 2013, and happy until my last interaction,…read morewhich was a purchase of a 2026 bZ. I bought my first car from them in 2013, a Camry. The salesman, Alan Brodsky, was excellent. He was informative and helped with a military discount. No wonder that he was perpetually their salesman of the year. My second purchase from them was replacement Camry in 2023. Alan had retired, but a woman who had worked with him was my salesperson and seemed to work in Alan's style, low pressure and helpful. In the last week of May 2026, I brought my 2023 Camry in for a free car wash. While I was waiting, the woman who had been my salesperson in 2023 came by and said hello. TBH, I didn't recognize her, but my memory isn't so good after age 70. I told her that I was just here for a wash, but was thinking about an electric car replacement for my wife's Subaru 2016, since we had just gotten solar panels on our home. She showed me bZ and I asked if I wanted to drive it. As my Camry was not out of the wash yet, I said sure and went for a drive. Then they wanted to sit down and sell it to me. I said no, I was just here for a car wash and just was talking while waiting for the car to get washed. Also, I would have to consult with my wife since it's would be her car, and I don't even know if she wants to give up the Subaru. They asked me if I wanted to drive the car to my home and have my wife look at it and drive it. I called her, got her OK, and I said OK. She did like the car. Then we came back and again the pressure was really high to buy it right then. I told them that I didn't research this at all. Normally prior to buying a car I would look at reviews, find the dealer's invoice price, find trade-in values for the Subaru, and when my research was all done, I would come in in the last day of the month, which is when dealerships bargain the most. Despite all that, the next thing I know I was in the room with the person to do the sale. Perhaps I could describe her as a very effective salesperson. Or, someone who was took advantage of a 73-year-old whose judgment and executive function may not be as good as it used to be. I never knew what the dealer's invoice price was. I didn't know until later what the Subaru trade-in would be on Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book. When I walked out, I couldn't have told you what the cost of the car was that I just purchased. Normally there are some negotiations back and forth, and the salesperson has to go back to the manager in the rear. The only such thing was her asking if there was anything she could do that would sweeten the deal. I said how about extending the warranty on my 2023. She said she'd never heard of extending the warranty on a different car then the one being purchased, but the manager approved it. We never talked about invoice prices or military discount. All in all, I'm happy with the car but just not happy with the sales experience On another issue, the bZ has a lot of display options. I think that Toyota should have an expert in operating the car sit down with you for 20 minutes and go through important operating issues. Of course, it's all in the manual. But it's a big manual. One of the things that they should have warned you about, but didn't, is that a Li-ion battery should not be charged to 100% routinely. Just like in cell phones, which tells you that you should charge only to 80% most of the time to maximize battery life, the charge on the traction battery should be kept between 20% and 80%, except for the occasional long trip where you need to charge it to 100%. This is not noted prominently anywhere. I research it online. I called the Toyota service department and they had no idea if limiting the charging to 80% was recommended, nor how to limit the charging. I found it in the manual and you can set the charge limit to 80% or whatever you want. They need to have somebody sit down and take you through the car everything from charging issues like this, to adjusting the height of the tailgate, to customizing the seat and mirror positions to the two drivers using both facial recognition or keys.

My 80-year-old stepfather, Tom. a Vietnam combat veteran, handled all of the negotiations. I only signed the paperwork because I trusted that everything had been honestly disclosed to him. Afterward, I discovered that an almost $3,000 Premium Protection Plus (PPP) package had been bundled into the vehicle price. This was an optional product yet it was never clearly disclosed during negotiations. Had we known, we would have negotiated completely differently and may never have purchased the vehicle. The vehicle also had multiple areas of damage. When I filed my BBB complaint, Carly McCall, Executive Assistant, told me the dealership knew about damage before selling me the vehicle, that it had not been certified, and that the damage was supposed to be repaired before the sale. I have filed complaints with the BBB and FLHSMV and am looking into additional complaints regarding the treatment of an 80-year-old Vietnam combat veteran. This is not how an honest dealership should conduct business. Customers deserve transparency- not hidden optional products and vehicles sold before known issues are properly addressed. I strongly caution anyone considering Toyota of Tampa Bay.

I updated it I purchased a 2020 Kia Optima from Gettel Stadium Toyota on Saturday, 8/2. While the…read moresales process was pleasant, the post-sale customer service and quality control have been an absolute nightmare. The very night I drove the car home, both a "Check Brake Light" warning and a "Service Required" message appeared. I brought the car back the next morning (8/3), where a technician simply reset the light, adjusted the housing, and sent me on my way. By the following morning (8/4), the exact same safety warning returned. Hoping for a real fix, I scheduled a service appointment for Wednesday, 8/5 at 6:00 AM. I arrived early at 5:55 AM, only to sit in the waiting room for four wasted hours because the technician didn't show up until around 10:00 AM. Their second "fix" consisted of merely bending tabs inside the housing. Unsurprisingly, as soon as I pulled into my work garage later that afternoon, the "Check Brake Light" warning came back on for a third time. When I called to request returning the vehicle due to a persistent, unresolved safety defect on a car I had owned for less than 72 hours, Gettel's attitude completely shifted. I was dismissively told the deal was already funded, that an intermittently failing brake light is "not a safety concern," and that I was on my own to take it to a Kia dealership for a diagnosis. On 8/6, I took the car to an authorized Kia dealership. Kia diagnosed the defect immediately: the light fixture itself was faulty and required a $330 replacement. To make matters worse, Kia's inspection revealed that basic pre-sale maintenance Gettel was supposed to perform before handing over the keys was completely ignored, leaving me facing additional unexpected costs right after putting $3,000 down. Gettel Stadium Toyota passed off a vehicle with an active electrical and safety issue, forced me to wait four hours for a non-existent repair, and completely washed their hands of responsibility the moment the check cleared. Do not buy a used vehicle here unless you are prepared for immediate mechanical issues and zero support. I am fully willing to amend or remove this review once Gettel management makes this right by reimbursing the $330 repair bill for the brake light assembly and completing the overdue pre-sale maintenance at no additional charge to me. Until this is resolved, I will continue sharing this detailed, documented experience across every major review platform, my social media channels, and local community networks. The response received so far has been to call the generic service number. I've been transferred to the "manager" 3 times today, no answer and have left several voicemails. I will continue to post reviews daily to different platforms until some form of resolution is presented. Received an email communication from the general manager who said I would receive a call from the service manager Saturday, 8/8 to discuss the issues further and still haven't heard from that manager. Continuing to spread my reviews on the dealership until some resolution has been reached.
