This is a great place. But I do not like the way Sandy did my nails. The other nail techs are GREAT but Sandy not only hurt me but she also did not do my nails in the right shape. First off, this place is clean and nicely decorated. I decided to give it a try last night and I had the worst experience with a woman that attended me, she said her name was Hanna. I asked for a manicure with gel polish. After she soaked my nails in acetone and started to take off my ombre, she said its 10$ to take It off. I suggested that she should advise on the cost before she started the job and not during the process(even though other nails salon I have been too charge 5$ or some don't even charge if you getting your nails done there). She said she doesn't even have to tell me the cost because the prices are listed at the front desk, she continued to argue with me, was very rude and said if I don't like it I can leave...really? after you have soaked my nails in acetone? I told her that I don't mind the fee but her attitude is so unprofessional, she clearly doesn't know what customer service is. Then she asked me if I want to cut my nails shorter or just file. I told her I want to file them...she then said..its 10 $ more to file..WHAT??? Isn't filing your nails part of the manicure service... I ended up finishing my nails with someone else and she was super sweet and gentle, her name is Cindy, she did a great job. Finally found my favorite place. Jackie and Sandy are both excellent. They are professional precise and have great personalities. I try nail salons all over in oceanside. I am really picky about my nails. Jackie trimmed my cuticles the exact way I want. I have a lot of cuticle and she is not afraid to trim them way diwn. She takes her time to make sure the gel manicure is just right. Sandy did my super duper pedicure and again she was very thorough and precise. She made my feet very nice and clean. She takes pride in her work. The salon is decorated very nice and is more high end. Even with the better decor and excellent massage chairs the prices are very good. They are no more expensive than the mani pedi factory lie certain chains. The level of cleanliness and sanitation are top notch. They don't recycle everything is newly opened. I made the appointment online for 2 pm Thursday. I called to verify I had the 2 pm appointment. The woman said yes, it was at 2 pm. So I get there and 2 women are working on 2 women. A girl is waiting in a chair. As one woman leaves, they have her take a chair. Now I am waiting past 2pm. Finally, I am told to sit down in a chair for my pedicure. Another woman came in and said she had a 2pm appointment. She ended up leaving. The woman that did my pedicure barely talked to me, and when I tried to talk to her, she quickly spoke to me and I couldn't understand her very well if at all. She was fast, rude attitude, and I told her I wanted the Basic Pedicure for $23, she said "ok". Then at the end, she said something about it going up to $25 next time, and took my credit card and ran it for $26! I was going to leave 1 $3 tip with the $23 but not left $1 after being charged more than agreed to with $1 added to use the card. Never going back. read more

I love going here to have my nails done and eyebrows waxed. They always do a quality job and the staff is awesome! Jackie and Ivy are the sweetest and very talented! Don't even bother. Absolutely poor customer service. I walked in with my nail, hanging by the skin and was turned away. I was told, "We don't have time." I pleaded that I just needed my nail trimmed. The lady literally handed me the clippers to do it myself and said, "No charge". I explained that it ached and I didnt want to cause more damage to the nail. I told her I didn't mind waiting. I spontaneously had the urge to get my nails done and decided to see if any of the salons in my area had time for a walk-in. I had first went to Smile across the street from Unique but was told it would be a 30 minutes wait, so instead I went to check it Unique had any time for me. They were friendly and welcoming upon entering the salon, and thankfully had time to take me right away! I don't get my nails done super often, so it's important to me that when I do, I get a good experience and am happy with the outcome. My nail tech was Winnie and she was such a sweetheart! She let me browse my phone for nail inspiration and was very patient while I selected my colors. She even would move my phone to my opposite hand when working on my nails so I could continue to browse, which I thought was really cute of her. Winnie not only let me pick everything out exactly how I wanted it, which I loved, but she also produced exactly what I had envisioned. The price was reasonable, it was actually cheaper than I had expected! Overall I had a great experience at Unique, and can definitely see myself returning to see Winnie again in the future! I LOVED my experience here. I don't know where to begin with how much I enjoyed it. Tina did my pedicure and Ivy did my manicure. First of all, they asked me for my name and I heard them ask other customers too and they used it the whole time which was so personable. They included me in their conversations and asked me about myself and were so genuine about it. As we all talked we all laughed so much. They were so sweet. They took their time with the whole process and were thorough about each step. Ivy noticed my nails were thin and break easily at the end so she was sure to explain to me that I needed to coat the ends a little more and she made sure I was happy with the color before adding my next coat. Having recently moved to the area, I've realized that there are nail salons by the handful. This one is right down the street from my home and just AMAZING. I needed to get a mani-pedi for the Marine Corps Ball and they were very helpful. Mandy did an amazing job on my nails and I will definitely be going back again in the future. Under $30 for a deluxe spa pedicure was just what the doctor ordered and included the polish, as well. The other ladies there were also very helpful and were able to do practically any nail design you'd like, if you show them a photo of what you're looking for. They were extremely clean and tidy. It is hard to find a clean, cute, and inexpensive nail spa in Oceanside, but Unique Nails is one of them. Not only do they use new utensils every time they service you, they do an exceptional job at cleaning your cuticles and polishing your nails. I got a regular mani/pedi and the polish is still on even after a week, with no chipping. Jackie did an awesome job! I'm also not one to gossip while at a nail salon, and Jackie kept a nice light conversation throughout my services. I would go during the weekdays since they extremely busy on Fri/Sat. I have gone here for about a year, for my eye brow needs and when i had nails- this is where I went. After today, I will never be returning. I went in to get my eye brows waxed and they told me they were busy and asked if I could come back, I responded with no (because I work and this was the only time I could come in for a few weeks due to my schedule). When I responded with no, the woman responded with well we're really busy and won't be able to do your eye brows. SO I LEFT. AND WILL NOT BE RETURNING. I never had an issue there, but I don't appreciate rudeness and I don't appreciate to basically be told to leave. read more

I was so excited to come here because of the reviews and now I'm absolutely bummed that things weren't as great of an experience for me. Everyone was super nice!! The ladies who work there are lovely, however I was very disappointed how my nails came out. My toenails were cut uneven, they are all at angles that I had to straighten out myself. Not to mention there was gel polish everywhere! All over my toes, and they didn't do a very good job cleaning up the polish where my nail meets my skin. So it's already starting to pull up. My fingers looked beautiful but within a few days the gel started chipping and it's barely been a week and they are already starting to peel up. Normally when I get gels done they last a minimum 2 weeks, the ones I got here didn't even last a week. So sad it didn't work out for me. read more
