Let me preface this by saying we are in the middle of a full exterior remodel (siding, paint, roof,…read moreattic insulation, gutters, etc) and I have been dealing with contractors nonstop for the past 6 months. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), our 25 y.o. 5-ton A/C unit decided to bite the dust during the roof construction. I was weary of the experience I had just gone through in selecting a roofer and painter, but knew we had to "do it right" and invest in a heat pump system for long-term piece of mind and cost savings, (2,700 sqft single story home in Fair Oaks). 3 HVAC contractors came by the house - the first gave me the corporate high-pressure spiel and was way overpriced; the second was competitively priced but not interested in answering my questions or helping me with the $3,500 rebate afforded to me as a SMUD customer; the third was Andrey at Corsair. Andrey was a breath of fresh air - literally, I suppose. Not only was he flexible when I had to cancel our first appointment last minute, he showed up when he promised to, answered all of my detailed questions (lots of texting back and forth long before I signed any paperwork), offered to handle the SMUD rebate paperwork, provided a competitive quote, gave me several options to choose from, was wiling to fix mistakes I had made installing my own mini split in my detached office, happily pivoted when (mid-install) I requested he also replace the insulation in my ducting, didn't complain when I asked him to install an A/C unit cover I had ordered (free of charge), and then subsequently asked to move it again, AND got the job done in a day with a polite and professional crew. What else can I say: Andrey is a class act. Home ownership would truly be more rewarding if everyone in their profession were as passionate and dedicated. You cannot go wrong with Corsair.

Ten replied with their favorites and I took screen shots because I needed that too. I called all and picked 3 to get their estimates. Right from the beginning, the Prestige guy stood out! My sons insisted I get written estimates from all 3 so that took time. And, I had 1 son insisting he could fix it. That took time convincing him that he was wrong. When I finally could commit to Prestige, things began to happen and last Wednesday the crew arrived at 0630, worked 7+ hours straight and they did a super job with the installation - and part of my AC unit is on my roof! I would stay away from this business…read more 1. I have doubts about their technical skills because they could not identify the issue with our air conditioning system. All they sought was for the unit and a few other items to be replaced by the Home Warranty provider. 2. Most of the time, doesn't communicate, refused to take my call or message. It took days to schedule a follow-up appointment/visit. Poor customer support. 3. Never listened to our concerns, hardly explained what the issue was and how are they fixing it. 4. The new unit they replaced didn't work properly and he simply accused the warranty company for purchasing subpar unit that didn't meet California's standard, and yet they had it installed. While it took nearly weeks and numerous visits to replace the unit and address the ensuing problems, my kids endured the heat of last summer. The AC still isn't functioning properly, so I had to file a new claim. I would say, avoid this company.
