The food option is very very very limited and boring. It is one of the worst air port lounges.

I believe the lounge was updated in August 2024. Overall, it's fine. Traveling Business Class EWR- FRA. (On to Hamburg). I'm kind of ticked off at Lufthansa in general as it relates to this trip but back to the Lounge. Small, but effective. Do you come here to eat? Not if you're a foodie so I'm not offended by the offerings. A soup, some warm dishes (think vegetarian small plates), various salads and a few sandwich options. It's fine. Seating options range from comfortable leather lounge seating to cafe tables / chairs. Nice beverage self-serve options. "Spa" water, a bottle filler (or grab a glass) for sparkling or still. A soda option and of course a bar. Standard (minimal stocked) bar. Clean area that is constantly serviced for dish pick up and very clean restrooms. I booked this flight solely for the purpose of the aircraft. (As I have done in the past). I love the Boeing 747 double decker. And I booked specifically for the upper deck. Lufthansa is a Star Alliance partner and I am a United frequent flyer. United booked my upper deck seat and Lufthansa changed me to the lower deck. (Still business class). When I called Lufthansa they advised I would need to pay extra to choose my seat. (What!?!). Lesson learned. I will not be flying Lufthansa again. (They could not care less read more

This lounge is right after security on the left side. The lounge was very crowded. I could hardly find a seat. The food bar was small and I didn't see many non-alcoholic beverages besides water and the soda machine. However, the cheesecake brownies and the creamed chicken and mushrooms was pretty good. read more

I stopped by the Lufthansa Senator and Business lounge before my transatlantic flight. Since EWR isn't a Lufthansa hub, their lounge is small and modest. The lounge is further divided to the right for "Senator" and the lower-tiered Business lounge. Both offer the same standard buffet with self-serve alcohol and soft drinks. They offered Heineken, a local IPA and a smattering of wines and liquors. The buffet had a hot and cold options and was okay. Staff was pretty good about clearing plates and glasses when guests were finished. read more

The lounge is not terrible but definitely mediocre. Or maybe I've just been to much better ones. The choices in Terminal B are limited. It is small and it was very crowded when we came in but in about 30 minutes it got less crowded. The bar is self-service and good for a drink or two while you're whiling away some time. I wasn't hungry so I can't comment on the food but I didn't see too many folks eating either. The food area didn't have too many choices. This is obviously the best lounge at Newark airport besides Polaris lounge, but compared to Lufthansa standards, it is very lacking. It also doesn't help that it's not easy to access for Star Alliance Gold members visiting from Terminal C. This is a shockingly small lounge and gets VERY crowded between ~4-6:30PM due to flights to Frankfurt. Staff are nice however don't do the cleaning rounds as often as needed. Food options are surprisingly good overall. Marginally better than SAS options across the hall. Lightyears better than United Club. There's a fair amount of somewhat gourmet options: sandwiches, grain salads, two soups, hot food/protein items, 1-2 desserts, and snacks such as chips or trail mix. All prepared options seem to rotate quite often, each week or even by day. It's buffet-style however is watched over by chefs to help with quality control (eg: mostly nothing soggy or too greasy/salty). This is in regards to Senator Lounge side. There is 80% the same on the business lounge side, however hot food items over there are more casual. They range from wings to egg rolls, potstickers, pretzels, etc, and choices vary greatly based on time of visit. Beverages are self-serve and almost all are top-shelf. There are two types of scotch, for example. The "champagne" for the longest time has been Campo Viejo Cava Brut. Also there's a soda fountain, mineral water, German beer, Tazo teas, coffee machine, etc. No showers. Free (but slow) wifi. Tip: As of writing this, guests departing from terminal C and wanting to visit this or SAS lounge in terminal B shouldn't, unless they have minimum 1.5 hours to spare & don't mind a 10 min walk and going thru security again. You'd have to re-enter security at C after leaving B, rather than the airport simply offering an airside shuttle between B to C (despite offering shuttles from C-A, A-B, & A-C). It's really strange, but just a heads up. read more

This lounge is probably the worst amongst the Lufthansa lounges. I am frequently in Frankfurt and Boston, but also have been to Dubai and Munich. So by comparison, Dubai and Newark are at the bottom. It is still great for New Jersey, but not a great club. read more

Provided no information of current lounge status, and gave my family hard time to access even though of my United 1K and Star Alliance Gold status. This is a solid lounge in terms of food and drinks. Unfortunately it is a little small and you are often left waiting for a seat. Hence the 3 stars, otherwise it's far superior in terms of amenities than a United Club. Here is a tip: in EWR you can access Terminal B with only a domestic ticket. Just be prepared to go through a security line with no TSA pre check. Though they do give you a card that allows you to keep your shoes and belt on, and go through the metal detector instead of the body scan. There are two lounges right next to each other, the Senator Lounge and the Business Lounge. Upon entering I was told that the Senator lounge is for first class and star alliance gold customers and that the business lounge is for business class passengers. As a star alliance gold member I was able to access either lounge. The attendant at the front of the lounge scanned my boarding pass and informed me that I was allowed to enter either lounge (I was flying domestic on United). He also informed me that my flights get was out of terminal C and that I would have to take the air train. One in the lounge I found that the food and drinks in the Senator lounge were slightly superior to the business lounge. For example there was a proper roasted meat with large portions in the Senator lounge, and mostly ginger food in the business lounge. Though to be fair most of the small food items were the same. Of note, the alcohol in the Senator lounge was higher quality, there was better whisky, congnac, and champagne at the self serve bar. A portion of the seating area in the senator lounge is reserved, I can only assume that this is for Lufthansa elites or for people flying a particular service class. Or maybe the Illuminati, I will probably never know.... I would certainly recommend going to this lounge if you have the time. read more

Lounge is way too small considering they take passengers from all Star Alliance airlines and most leave around the same time. We has Austrian, SAS, TAP and LH flyers mixed in. It was crammed and no seats were available.When I found a seat, the outlet actually worked which in itself is worth a point. Food offering was decent, though mid-pack for International flights. There were hardly any healthy alternatives or greens. Since EWR terminal B is so crappy in general, perhaps the Lufthansa lounge in JFK is better and worth flying from there instead. Summary: One of the best airport lounges available if you have access to Star Alliance (so SAS or United and you're all good). Food is good, no need to find food outside. Atmosphere: Very German Scandinavian, efficient, bright, modern, clean. The super sniffer did no pick up any odd smells which is always amazing given the amount of traffic in these lounges. The Food/Beverage: Selections are great including some of the juices available. There is a better selection of meats and col salads. The Lounge: I like that they put some thought into the placement of charging stations. Plenty of them throughout the lounge area. While I think the decor is slightly dated, it's not nearly as dated as some of the other lounges throughout the airport. Like maybe 5 years dated, vs something out of the 80s or 70s. What a great place to rest, relax and nosh while waiting for your flight. Used this between UA and Icelandair Saga Class flight to Heathrow. Enjoyed the small sandwiches, nibbles such as chicken wings, freshly baked cookies and selection of juices, sodas and alcoholic beverages. It's one of Lufthansa's worst lounges by far that I have ever been to. I wonder why it can't be the same caliber as they are in Germany...It's so over crowded and the food is mediocre. 2 stars because at least people kept coming around to clear trash every 15 mins or so. Overcrowded, with minimal food selections. The 2 food staff work extremely hard but the reception staff up front have all the warmth of an ice cube. Food looked good, but we didn't want to stand toe to toe to get it and stand to eat it. They sent us across to the SAS lounge. Same problem. We left and sat in the general boarding area.
