Latest transit through EWR went well with a stop in the United Club. It was quite busy but still so much more inviting than the Clubs in SFO. Hopefully the renovations in SFO will also result in a new and improved Club. Food was mostly good this time for a quick fill up of the stomach between flights. Pesto broccoli chicken, rigatoni pasta, and roasted vegetables were the hot food options and tasted like the menu description. Faro salad with Brussel sprouts, squash and cranberries was nice and light. However the chicken banh mi was very disappointing with its dense bread and bland flavors. For the most part visitors were respectful except for one lady on her speakerphone talking the whole time about her apartment hunting in NYC. read more

Reviewing the United club, this is not the Polaris Lounge which is only for Polaris seated ticket holders, this is the normal one in Terminal C, next to Gate 123. Came back again to this lounge, and still left nothing to be desired from me. The food on this sad Saturday evening was a chicken dish, root veggies and either rice or pasta. On top of it all, when I walked to initially sit at a booth table top, it was still dirty and there was no one around to clean it up! While this club "looks nice" I am disappointed by the cleanliness and the food options, leaving nothing to be desired. read more

Hands down one of the best United Club lounges I've ever been in. Big, spacious and modern, we were able to find seating despite the heavy foot traffic this lounge intakes. There are plenty of seating options to choose from including booth tables, larger leather lounge chairs, bar seating, communal tables, sofas, single seats, and dining tables. And most (if not all) are in close proximity to charging ports. The tables and seats are also all in great condition and kept clean with staff constantly making their rounds to collect dirty plates and wipe down surfaces. LOVE the large variety of readily available food options here as well including various pre-made sandwiches, burgers, wraps, hot foods, salads, fruits and snacks. There are also a ton of beverage options as well such as your typical tea and coffee options, juices, and touch-screen soda machines. In addition to the bar if you prefer alcoholic varieties. Staff here were all very friendly, and the bathrooms are sizable (no lines) and kept clean. If you are flying through EWR, highly recommend giving this United Club lounge a try. read more

You can enjoy a hot or cold meal, grab a drink (they have alcoholic and non-alcoholic, hot and cold, caffeinated or low-octane), or just relax while you wait for your flight. This location has tons of options for seating, including these wonderful booths-for-one if you are looking to decompress or be productive. It is absolutely beautifully kept as well--clean, well-organized, and extremely comfortable. Think Heaven's lobby. The service is also excellent. Everyone here is kind and helpful, connecting you with what you need, whether it's a refill, extra pickles, or some help navigating the airport. This United Club was disappointing. It was very hard to find seating, and the lounge felt badly overcrowded. At times, they were even turning customers away, which says a lot about how packed it was. Some parts of the club were also hot and stuffy, which made it hard to relax before a flight. The seat I eventually found near the dining area was so worn out that it was torn. There were also lines for the bathroom at times. For a lounge, especially one people may be paying to access, this was not a comfortable experience. United needs to do a better job managing capacity and maintaining the space. read more

This United Club was located at the Newark International Airport. We arrived shortly before they opened. A line was forming as we waited. They opened promptly at 5 AM. We helped ourselves to yogurt, granola, and a little bit of fruit. It was nice and relaxing in there before our flight. read more

I've been to this lounge twice with single-use passes, so maybe my expectations were a bit higher than someone with a membership, but both times were pretty underwhelming. The food was a letdown. Some items were borderline inedible, like tough and super dry chicken in a cold pita, a Reuben with big globs of fatty meat, a salad with dressing that was essentially straight olive oil... The free cafe barista service and bar are nice features, but you're only getting lower-end options complimentarily there. The customer service wasn't that great either. After my flight was canceled and rebooked to the next day, they wouldn't reissue or refund my one-time pass, and didn't seem to care much about the situation. That said, the interior is spacious and the bathrooms are clean, which does help make the wait more comfortable. Just not a lounge I'd go out of my way or pay for to visit. read more

Definitely one of the better clubs United has. We go through EWR a lot and this club has really become a welcome spot to spend some layover time. They have upped their game on food and amenities for sure. Plenty of things to eat, not just a couple of cookies like a lot of other places seem to offer. For the most part the staff is wonderful. It's only the staff clearing dishes super loudly because they have earbuds in that detract from the experience. Management should either put a rule in place or enforce that rule if it already exists. Of all the United Club lounges, this one is my favorite. It is spacious, has a variety of food, shower suites, and even an espresso bar staffed by a live human barista. I especially like the booths that line along the wall. It is great for getting work done. 1 star off: The only weird thing about this lounge is that the shower faucet handle for hot and cold temperatures was installed in reverse...for all the shower suites! The first time I used their shower, the staff did not inform me of this, so I only got cold water. You turn the handle clockwise a little bit for hot water and a full turn for cold water -- very counterintuitive. *face palm* read more

Glad I got a chance to stop by - Newark is currently a disaster with their runway situation so definitely worth lounging here but expect it to be busy and crowded especially in the late morning/early afternoon. Some charging ports were out of service and some areas could use some cleaning/bussing a little sooner with how many people are here. I paid $59 for a day pass, not worth it. Lounge in Terminal A at EWR is small, food selection is terrible, and everything is run down. Chairs are worn down and lounge is small so it's crowded even at 7am. There is only one elevator to get access to the lounge so we had to wait in a line to even get onto the elevator to get up to the 3rd floor. Eggs were watery and cold. Coffee was not good. I'm an AA card holder but since I am flying United this time, I couldn't access the Admirals Club, but the AA lounge is so much nicer at EWR. The only upside is that being in the UC lounge is still better than sitting on the uncomfortable chairs at the gate, hence the 2 stars. read more

Since my friend and I were flying business, we were able to check out the lounge. This one is a decent size. Tho we did walk around a bit in order to find two seats as we wanted to sit by the bar. They had a modest amount of food offering - soups, salad, sandwiches, entrees such as chicken, etc. We mainly drank so I can't really comment on the food. The sandwich I tried was fine. I think it was a pesto something? The food area never got too crowded or busy, so it was easy to grab stuff. Same for the bar. I stuck to bubbles / champagne the entire time. Friend tried their beers, a bloody, etc. Fun fact. That paper plane cocktail you see in pix from this lounge on Yelp? It does not exist in 2024! My friend sent me up to the bar numerous times to ask different bartenders and no one knew what I was talking about. So great elusive Paper Plane Cocktail, I never got to try you. Cuz no one knows how to make you! I guess it was only circa 2019? Nice place to kill time if you have free access. They have the automatic gates, so you can just scan your boarding pass and get in. Best United club so far. I was just at EWR's Polaris lounge two weeks ago on my way to Dubai, this is WAY BETTER. I really loved its deli sandwich section. Also loved the salad and soup bar. All in, a way better version than the Polaris lounge in EWR. I also loved the barista section. I had a matcha latte with oats milk and later an iced cappuccino. I am headed to Brazil in a few weeks. Will skip Polaris (which last time was filled with loud frequent travelers bragging about their trips - so freaking loud - I am a Global and find United business travelers fall into two categories- the subdued ones the obnoxious ones, this Polaris club in EWR attracts the latter) and head over to this brand new United club. read more

We wondered around 4-5 times... before we finally squished into seats at a large communal table. Food was good. This is my favorite United Club I've been to yet. Location: Terminal C, Gates 120-139. Adjacent to Gate C 123 & across from Gate C 130, head up the escalators to check in. Entry: Attendants at the desk to check-in or you can use the self check-in scanner which is quicker. The Lounge: This Club is the biggest one I've been to. There's so many places to lounge- couches as you walk in, I've seen people sprawled out asleep on them. Lots of single couches, desks, there's a huge dining area with plenty of table seating. So many rooms! Lots of charging stations between seats as well. Food: There's a hot buffet that has a fair selection of food. There's also a sandwich area with a large selection to choose from. There's a coffee bar if you're wanting a fresh cup and of course a large bar with plenty of alcoholic beverages to choose from (premium drinks are not free fyi). I love that they have water dispensers you can fill up your personal water bottles with. Bathrooms: Plenty of stalls and always kept so clean. There's also a family restroom and they even have showers here. Service: The are always attendants roaming around cleaning up, very attentive. The food is constantly being refilled. The bartenders are brusque but quick. Overall, definitely a great place to relax at before your flight. It does get crowded at peak times but it definitely beats the crowded gates and overpriced terminal restaurants. read more

I write with a report on the showers at the United Club at EWR. I refer to specifically the facility at C123. I used it less than an hour ago. I was impressed. My use case is unusual. This morning, I came via a redeye flight, and I ultimately am en route to suburban Washington, D.C. I am doing train to plane because I got a great deal using frequent flier miles on the former leg, a price point I could not improve upon with a direct flight even accounting for the trouble I am putting myself to, and someone else is reimbursing for the latter leg. I put in too much leeway to guard against a late flight, and I have an hour plus of hanging out, even after morning ablutions. Last year, I flew 105 times. That means I am experienced with this routine, though I typically do not freshen up at the airport, benefitting from a full bathroom en suite at the office. I walked in. The attendant said it would be a fifteen minute wait. They have an area that mimics a spa. I went outside for a bite to eat -- and, a digression, that was an excellent knock off of a McDonald's sausage McMuffin sandwich. I'd estimate the delay to be less than half what was stated. I only needed to scan my boarding pass and I was allowed in. A guy went by wearing a University of Michigan sweatshirt, my alma mater (professional school, and I grew up in the vicinity), and we exchanged "Go Blue!" exhortations in the proper call and response. The shower was clean, spacious, and had what you'd expect: soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, a W/C, but nothing fancy. The towels were folded up, on a rattan stool. I was glad to be able to clean up. I also am obsessive about brushing my teeth. What is really as important as the shower itself, however, is the respite, a private space in which to take a moment to catch one's breath before facing the challenges of the day. read more

It is a lot more spacious with less people in it (probably because it's a bit of a walk from TSA security compared to the other one). Service was great, and staff were helpful. There are two newly renovated United Clubs in Terminal C at EWR. For this trip, I was able to head to the one by Gate 123, up the escalator. The other lounge access is by Gate 74 - there's no lounge access for the middle section of the terminal so if your flight is out of that one, it's a bit of a walk to the lounge and you have to plan to walk to you gate, so give yourself time, but it's very much worth it. The space is massive and also gorgeous through and through - it's decorated beautifully with a TON of seating. There's a full bar with bartender making drinks versus other lounges where it's a serve yourself with limited options - plus, there's a full coffee bar as well, which is a great touch! There are limited free drinks, but you can buy things not included in the complimentary alcohol for a very minimal upcharge (depending on what you order). The buffet had a lot of variety plus there were premade breakfast sandwiches that you could also get. Everything was FULLY stocked. The staff was attentive and friendly as well and the lounge was busy for a Thursday at 10:45 AM. The bathrooms were spotless and they also have shower suites as well if needed. All in all a great space that has been beautifully renovated - makes the ones that haven't look extra sad. Will continue to come back here before all flights! read more

Not the best service, I sat at the bar "willing to tip as usual of course" but the bartenders had a horrible attitude. I felt like I was begging them form their attention and felt like both were rude, I asked my friends maybe I was overthinking but they all agreed that they were extremely rude and sarcastic. The only nice person at the bar was the bar back, very attentive and we also noticed the bartenders being rude to him. The location is big with plenty of seating and a nice view. Food was ok, the standard breakfast options with eggs, sausage, bread and some sandwiches. Lots of drink and coffee options and bathrooms were clean. It's worth a visit if you have passes but I wouldn't pay $59 to spend a couple hours since thrrr are nice restaurants on this terminal. read more

The United Club at Terminal C near gate 123 offers a touch of luxury with ample food choices. I loaded up on soft shell tacos with a choice of two meats (chopped carnitas and tinga chicken), black beans, white rice, guacamole, and the usual toppings and sauces. I also saw a sandwich counter, salad bar and desserts on part of the buffet line. The deluxe coffee machine offer a wide variety of cafes, espresso and other hot drinks. The cold beverages were served by juice dispensers throughout the lounge areas as well as fountain machine located in the dining room. The wait staff do a good job of cleaning up tables quickly after guests leave. The bathroom was nice, clean and modern. There are shower suites available separate from the bathroom but just beyond that area at the end of the corridor to the left just before you enter the buffet area. I'd happily try out the United Club again, when I get another complimentary one time pass. The annual subscription cost per person is $650 or one-time passes run ~$150 per flight. Too rich for my blood plus I don't fly often enough to warrant the subscription. read more

For an entrance fee of $59, $30 if you are in some way affiliated with the military, or free if you are riding with a superior fare, status, or credit card (often carrying a hefty premium), I think it is fair to have a rather strong set of expectations for an airline lounge. While the diversity, availability, style, uniqueness, cohesiveness, and amount of seating spaces and seats are a strong suit of this club, there is little else to positively comment upon. I encountered two courteous crew members, but the majority of my other encounters varied from standoffish to surly. Likewise, it is weird that a bathroom attendant constantly stands right at the entrance of the restroom. Is he also a security guard? A night club spritz and freshen up guy? The food and drinks are highly uninspired and lacking. To say they are nothing to write home about presupposes there is something to even write about. There isn't. If you are starving, efficiency-minded, or eat simply for nutrition, there are salads, lean meat, and soups to choose from. Taste-wise, the sweets are the best but that isn't saying much. I struggled to scarf down the grilled chicken for some protein, but it was as if they went out of their way to make sure it is as unseasoned, overcooked, dry, and unspectacular as possible. The key lime tart and chocolate cookies were relatively better, yes; but when compared to other like items, they function as the equivalent of $0.49 canned soup; with a sprig of canned tuna. I was excited to see a Coca Cola Freestyle machine but that quickly turned to tepid disappointment and sadness when I realized the flavor was diluted and lacking. Perhaps the filter had not been changed or they set it up to deconcentrate. Likewise, alcoholic beverages are depressing and an odd interaction came about in which a bartender asked for my order, looked at me and paused for a moment, then turned away and proceeded to give instruction to another bartender, one of three total who were present, to proceed with my order. I have the intuition that things were said at my expense but I cannot tell in entirety, as they conversed in a different language. The closing hours also differ from what is advertised... or they did when I visited. As I had to catch a flight in short order, that did not immediately impact me. The principle, however, stands; as would it have had greater impact if my flight was later. Suggestions to UA: fix everything I mentioned, and maybe have a pop-up or mini shop that advertises novelties, airline branded rarities, and partner items. Not only would quality of goods experience, but quality of experience as well; on account of increased interest and revenue. Anticipatory blah blah blah about costs. Preemptive rebuttal of "haw haw" and "sucks to suck [that you guys suck]". Recommendation to the consumer: don't go unless it is free or included. There's some goddanged nice lounge chairs in the terminal anyhow. read more

I have had lounge access through the United Club card for several years. That card now costs $525 annually, and the lounge access pass outright actually can cost more, depending on status with United. Since I don't travel for business very often, this card/membership can be hard to justify. I was considering cancelling it when I moved to New York. This revamped United Club in Newark sparked my loyalty to United and to this airport. The space is huge, and no detail has been overlooked. The cleaning is frequent to the point of being excessive. The food is delicious and varied. Sure, I still probably have to run the numbers and determine if this is actually worth the money for me, but recently I visited two "equivalent" "business class" lounges in Frankfurt and found that they were, in fact, in no way equivalent to this lounge. Truly love the new lounge at Newark International Airport!! So many tables, different sizes and shapes, available throughout. Lots of free bags of chips to ensure you don't go hungry on the flight. Good options of hot food such as sausage, eggs, egg whites and sandwiches. Abundant breakfast staples such as oatmeal, cereal and fruits. Coffee, orange juice, cranberry juice and lemon water will certainly keep you hydrated. Lunch includes various kinds of cold cut sandwiches, salad, cookies and brownies. A decent bar for those who like to relax before/after the flight. Charging stations at almost all tables/couches to ensure you are connected at all times. Definitely a great perk to get two free club passes every year if you sign up for the United credit card . You can also pay for the pass. The club has individual shower suites if you like to get refreshed before/after a long flight. Water pressure was great. Mon-stop cleaning throughout the lounge. First, we went to the pop-up location near Gate C93. It was very small and sad. It didn't even have any bathrooms. We decided to trek further down to the other location near gate C123. It was much more spacious and had a pretty good selection of food. I was surprised and happy that they even had showers since most United Clubs don't.
