Not the best United lounge in Newark. Of course my favorite is Polaris but I can't get in without an international business class ticket. So I opted for this one which I had a free day-pass and this was the closest to my gate. It was a pretty big lounge. With an open bar and food. I arrived for the breakfast, which was a typical American breakfast, eggs, sausage, little eggs sausage sandwich, oatmeal, yogurt. No fresh juices just fountain drinks. Really bland and nothing really to my liking. Then I actually caught the beginning of lunch, which changed over at 11:30am. So I was able to grab some tomato soup and warm veggies (carrots and corn), which was good. Bathrooms were clean. Check in was super easy. Food was bland and nothing special. read more

We had a longer layover on the way to Jamaica, so we were able to use this lounge. It was early, and breakfast started while we were there, and the line was HUGE!! We waited a bit and it shortened up. Honestly, it was very mediocre food. I am a breakfast girl, and nothing was good or worth going back for more. For free airport food, it's fine. Again, it was early, so I didn't really want anything at the bar, but it was packed! My husband eventually got something and got me a mimosa. It was very crowded and very loud, but still nicer than being in the main airport. There's a freestyle machine, which is nice. It also had a line. The bathroom was nice for an airport. This lounge was not nearly as nice as the new one in terminal C. But we weren't going across the whole airport for it though. Overall, meh. It comes with first class and we had a layover, so it was nice to use. read more

It's a new Club and you have some views of planes. There is the usual United food and it's always chicken! There are some healthy vegetables and salad which is nice. This location becomes quite crowded. Some of the seating is not the most comfortable but United has spaced the seating throughout. read more

Nice lounge to wait in before your flight. There's a bunch of seating with plugs available. Good view of the planes on the runway. There is a full bar, coffee station, and hot & cold food. The United Club in Terminal C has way better food selections but this lounge isn't too bad. The bathrooms are kept clean and the women's restroom has 4 individual stalls with doors for more privacy and space. Definitely more comfortable to wait here than at the gate. read more

United has rebuilt or added United Clubs in Newark. The terminal A Club does not have the best layout or access to the food. However, it is new and certainly nice. It is also the Newark Club I find the most crowded - maybe United runs more flights out of terminal A than expected. I was very disappointed with my experience today. The front desk associates were extremely rude upon my arrival and made me feel unwelcome from the moment I walked in. Customer service is often the first impression of a business, and unfortunately this interaction fell far below expectations. A little professionalism and courtesy would have gone a long way. Got a day pass for $59. It's run down, small, food selection was terrible. There was only 1 elevator to get up to the 3rd floor so there was a line to get on to the elevator. Also since the lounge is so small and united uses Newark as a hub, it was crowded even at 7 in the morning. Definitely not worth the $60 price tag. I have access to the American Airlines Admirals club but unfortunately since I'm flying united, I can't access the Admirals club but the AA lounge is soooo much nicer read more

We were at the club right at the opening hours of 5am before our 6am flight. The club was clean, most breakfast items and drinks were already put out. Was little disappointed to hear the breakfast sandwiches would come out at 5:30an, so kissed out on them. Otherwise I had a wonderful relaxed time here again before boarding my flight. read more

Vegan food choices are limited. The bartender was especially rude. This review is for terminal A United club lounge. I tried to show my bartender my ID as is required by law and he made fun of me saying I look old "I know you're over 21" in a sarcastic tone (I'm 24) and didn't want to see it. I have a baby face and I felt insulted. Was hitting on me too, after seeing I wasn't interested he was rude next time I asked for alcohol and gave me a hard time. This review is for United club terminal A. I'm a military veteran, and I had a pass. The woman, who I could barely understand would not allow me in. I showed my military information and she REFUSED me entry. And she also said she was "very American", which I doubt. First, United delayed my flight by several hours, and then, the woman (who could have easily accommodated me), refused a Premier United, US military service member entry. Damn Shame!! read more

A brand new lounge in the new EWR Terminal A. Probably the best feature is the location on the Mezzanine with a great view of the tarmac through huge plate glass windows. Everything else is on par with amenities featured in most United Clubs at this point. (full bar, nice selection of food, etc) The signage is not great, as I walked past it twice before I found the stairway/elevator. And the exit gates are placed a good distance from the entrance gates - not insignificant when you are trying to stuff your face and run to the gates. Compared to the old school United Clubs, this one is pretty posh, but I withheld a star as I thought the staff was pretty surly -- like as if they live in New Jersey or something! read more

This United lounge is so crowded on a Monday afternoon, they are not admitting anyone for a day pass. So that's what your "first class" ticket gets you on United: little or nothing. And anyway who would want to sit in a lounge that's jam packed with too many people?! There are better options, much less crowded, in the terminal among the hoi polloi. read more

It's a united club. At Newark Airport. Keep your expectations low and you'll be happy as a clam. The folks at the front were nice and explained the policies in a matter-of-fact NJ manner. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The chips were not stale. All the fresh snacks like sandwiches and pasta salads were wheat-based except a very basic salad (with dressing with some unpronounceable ingredients in it) so if you're gluten-free there not much for you at this time (late 2021). Lovely view of the back of some jetway or a park long lot or something. But like I said, it's a United Club at EWR. So much better than sitting out in terminal A. read more

I was recently in the Terminal A United Lounge and it was so crowded. I had to look quite a while for a seat and never bothered to even check out the food because it was mobbed. It was also very noisy so not the pre-flight respite I was looking for. When I went to the terminal, I was disappointed I had not just spent my time there. Terminal A is full of great food, drink and shopping options and had more available seats with less chaos than the United lounge. Next time I will skip the lounge and just hang out in the terminal. read more

The lounge has recently been reopened after a short renovation. There are new fixtures and furniture which are much more modern and comfortable. The layout has also been slightly modified with a more enhanced seating area in the back of the lounge with additional windows. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only knock is the food options, while better, are still not on par with other lounges in the United system. Still, it is a huge improvement of the previous location. read more

Terminal A is not my favorite place to sit and wait on a flight, its remote location requires a ride on the air train or a bus ride, the air train requires you to go outside of security and although the bus ride doesn't require you to go outside of security it is so out dated and just something I don't care to deal with. This overcrowded terminal is never a pleasant experience so having a club in this small terminal is always a welcoming sight when I'm force to come here. The club is small but always staffed with friendly faces and provides a quite relaxing place to wait for your flights. read more

BE FOREWARNED.... Terminal A is divided into several sections AND THERE IS NO SHUTTLE OR WAY TO GET FROM ONE SECTION TO THE OTHER I arrived at 5 am for a flight leaving from gate A14...I was hoping to get a quick breakfast at the club before my 6:30 flight...After passing through the totally convoluted and time consuming Newark Airport Security I arrived in Terminal A only to be informed that the club was in the other part of Terminal A and that there used to be a shuttle but there wasn't one any longer. So to get there I would have to go back out, pass through security into the OTHER part of Terminal A and then pass through security AGAIN to get back to the part where my flight was leaving from. Needless to say I bought a cup of coffee and stayed where I was. Keep this in mind if planning to use this lounge. read more

Very nice United Airlines lounge. The food service staff was excellent I give them a 6 out of 5. Always cleaning, smiling, refilling the buffet. The bar: NA since I was there for breakfast and didn't drink anything. The front desk I give a 2 because they were talking to each other rather than acknowledge me standing in from of them. I think that this is the smallest United lounge that I've ever been in so I'm sure it is crowded during peak times. However, it has been remodeled and it has the typical United "upgraded" snacks. And it is much better than the A gate area which is tiny and looks like it is straight out of 1960. Very hard to find. Unless this has been done over recently after the low star reviews, I don't know what ppl are so unhappy about. Sure it isn't terminal Cs united club but terminal c is a huge terminal, with long distance high passenger flights. It should be huge. This terminal A not only is nice, it's far from the poor reviews I've read saying it's outdated, nasty, etc. it's somewhat cramped, but the passenger turnaround is much lower bc it's a regional terminal......you come in, you chill, you leave. Done. Now for the club. It's very nice. Very updated, and always has someone milling about cleaning something.....there is actually someone now doing some cleaning. The chairs are brand new nice leather, large windows, and when my wife and I came (11:30am on a Tuesday) it's not crowded at all. The food isn't steakhouse food, people. I have no idea what's these ppl talk about when they get upset that the "cheese is 200 years old", etc. Wow, man......like I said, figure out WHY you're here. Regional service. Less than 2 hr ish flight times. Not a 10 ppl trip to Disney. You're in, go potty, have a coffee, get out have a nice trip buh-bye. The bar is stocked, the entire place is quiet (except for the one dude who is talking on his phone the entire time he's here with his hand over his mouth as if that's going to tone things down, then gets up to leave and goes "oh well I'll talk to you later bye" THEN leaves!! Does the terminal area have a no cell phone policy??). People are behaving themselves, the women up front are NICE AND NOT TALKING TO EACH OTHER EVERY TIME as someone else said. Jeez people. She did the smile and have a nice day to everyone coming in and leaving as well. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to terminal A and this club next time at all. In fact, I've been at terminal Cs united club many times, and every single time, there's the obligatory annoying group. One time it was a woman with a frikkin dog in a case who she thought needed to have people greet, once it was a family of four with two aaaaaaaaannoying kids, once it was a guy and his wife chatty on their phones as if people needed to know everything about their lives. I have been to the United Club in Terminal A a number of times, before and after its most recent renovation. As with all of the newer-designed United Clubs, there is a premium put on having seating with outlets - a big plus, since the older clubs are quite poor in that regard. However, the outlets themselves are clearly done on the cheap (not surprising given the way the company has been run in the past and how it is being run under Scott Kirby now), meaning that you may encounter a bunch that do not work or are too loose to give your devices a consistent charge. The new bar and food setup is nice, and there is definitely more capacity for seating than in the past. One thing I do miss, though, are the more private working areas...while designed more for business travelers, they were quiet, a little removed from the common areas, and afforded some privacy. All of the seating is out in the open now, which, while not a big deal (and the seats are certainly nicer), makes it feel a bit more generic. Perhaps one of the more puzzling aspects is that while the showers were ditched - a big point for some frequent flyers, but not for me, given EWR is my home airport and most people flying United Express flights are least likely to use the shower - the bathrooms remain really tiny, and, at least in the case of the men's bathroom, designed quite strangely. The airplane window-themed mirrors are a nice touch, but having 2 urinals and 2 stalls, while substantially increasing the capacity of the club, makes little sense. It's not a gripe limited to just this club, though...outside of the old United Club in the rotunda of Concourse F in Terminal 3, pretty much every United Club has an undersized bathroom, for whatever reason. While I appreciate the refresh of the club here - the previous amenities were just as old and tired as those in Terminal C and in some other clubs I have been to (like the dreadful old club in FLL that has since been ditched) - it doesn't feel like a lot of thought went into utilizing the space in any kind of thoughtful manner other than being a holding pen for those who don't want to suffer the indignity of sitting at the seats in the A2 rotunda. read more

Hey, this is actually a decent United Club. It's tricky to find, but I'm really glad United out a club in this otherwise dank part of EWR. It has the usual solid food options with the recent upgrades, and some nice quiet places to hide away. Not as much open space as some of the other clubs, but a good place to wait out an hour between connecting flights. Come on in! read more

I have to start this by saying terminal A is the worst terminal in EWR! Everything is crowded, the agents are yelling to get your attention - yuck. I needed a quiet spot! The club is hard to find and when you ask where it is you get a rushes answer. When you finally find it the staff at the desk are very nice. The bar area is an ok size and the club is divided into two rooms. The bar area offers pretty good views of the ramp area. The selection seems to be changing a bit for well drinks. In the past the vodka has been Smirnoff but yesterday it was Gordon's. Yuck! The snacks are always good, especially the pepper jacks cheese. For being in Terminal A not a bad spot to find some peace and quiet! read more

Considering its a commuter terminal (and a crappy one at that) this is a nice little lounge. There were nice continental breakfast offerings, cereals, greek yoghurt, fresh berries, various breads, while fruits, and oj, coffees and teas. There are high tables with bar stools set up near the food and bar. There's also a business center with a couple computers and bathrooms. I also saw a sign for showers. Staff were very nice, especially a lady on the front desk. It is hard to find as you have to go through tsa but then come back that way. But it's worth it, since the a terminal is woeful. read more

I don't like this United Club. The malaise starts with the depressing entrance. It's noisy and and the air smells bad when the airplane at gate 20 runs off its APU. This Club has definitely seen better days. The furniture is getting threadbare. One plus is that the lockers have plugs inside. Terminal A is a commuter / hub terminal, so maybe that's why they let this Club go to crap. Just a tip so you don't get lost, the bus to terminal C is under gate 28. And the United Club at terminal C is MUCH better. read more

Horrible lounge and experience at United Airlines. As a premier customer with buying business air tickets. There is no service no bar no food beside Oreos !! It was just plain too crowded. The food selection was also somewhat bleak, and not amazing. I think they should be more selective with who is allowed to come in. That may sound rude, but it gets too crowded. I think they should either do that, or improve the lounge in order to fit more patrons. However, the staff were polite, and generally enthusiastic to be there. read more

Terminal A is a dump so it is nice to get lounge access here but United just puts out crackers and chex mix and that cheese w a shelf life of 200 years. The drinks are free, but I usually skip them in the morning of course. They really need to explore better food options. Sometimes the fruit in the bowl is actually dusty. And just have the soft drinks out in the fridge. No reason I should have to bother the bartender just to get a soda. read more
