Ed greeted me with a smile, and offered to perform a N/C complete professional inspection of my vehicle since I was a new client. He found that I needed a AC Condenser Unit because it was leaking. I scheduled it for replacement His wife Tracey (nice lady) sent over my inspection report with pictures. The report showed the leaking condenser unit and also he noticed a leaking CV Axle. His inspection was very thorough and he checked EVERYTHING. He also replace a bulb in the upper tail light assy and did an oil change. I mentioned to Tracey that my dog had to be put down. They kept my car for almost 3 months. Had to badger them for updates. Finally when they told me the car was fixed at a hefty price I was happy to have my car back. Thirty days later my car started to violently shake and the check engine came back on. I took it back to Awesome Automotive in May. It's the middle of September and I still don't have any idea of what's going on. They do not call to update me and when I call I get a voice mail. When I visit the shop they tell me they are close to solving the problem?!?! This is ridiculous and yes I have a warranty.

Stay away. They OVERCHARGE and do the job badly. They put the wrong drive shaft bracket on our…read moretruck, so there was a lot of play in the drive shaft, causing a major vibration through the whole vehicle. They also put on 8 after market, poor quality cab mounts between the frame, making the whole cab feel like you were riding on metal. When we brought it back because of the vibration, they did a full inspection and couldn't figure out where it was coming from, even though it was their fault and charged us more. We spent at least $10,000 for motor work, the drive shaft, etc! $6,800 of that went to bullet proofing the engine (which means there will be no more leaks). The truck had to go back MULTIPLE times because it wouldn't stop leaking. J told me the engine would still have problems even after they finished their work. After paying $6,800 to "bullet proof" an engine, there should be no more problems! They also put in a steering wheel box and didn't tighten down the adjuster nut, so while my boyfriend was driving, he was having to turn the wheel to the right and left, 12 inches each time, just to keep the vehicle straight. He had to drive like that for 13 hours. Even worse, when we got the truck back after many of their "repairs", they returned it with a broken tail light, dented hood and dented quarter panel. So unprofessional! They held on to our truck for months and this is how they returned it to us. While this might be an easy stop for a lot of people that are local, I recommend you skip it and go to a qualified mechanic. Don't say I didn't warn you.

The car was in a horrific state after being flooded during the storm…read more The customer service was just excellent. I had my car detailed after flooding from a recent storm. The job was not perfect but they did a good job with cleaning for the pricey detailing they charged me. The water continued flowing in even after the detailing. Pretty much everything was moved around and not put back in place. The steering wheel, the cup holder, the rearview mirrors. Initially when I turned my car on I got an red screen of death, but fortunately, after I adjusted the steering wheel back in position, it cleared off and got back to normal. My driving glasses disappeared, some items were broken in the process of cleaning. They threw away my wet towels that I was using to clean out the water and some other items which I wasn't too pleased with. It could have been put in a plastic bag instead of taking the liberty to throw away. The garage wasn't exactly near me in the 60626 neighborhood which was a hassle to get to and back. Many of the causes were obviously from the water flooding. Either way, it was cleaned enough to at least get me dried out from the flooding. In the long run I've been happy to be in a clean car.

Anyplace else and it's…read moresix-to-one and pick'em if the guy is going to say something like, "Well, you need all new brake pads...." But not Dale. He has always been scrupulously honest. A small shop may not have everything for everyone at all hours, but you're certainly not going to find anyone with as much integrity as Dale, and if he doesn't have it, he'll get it. I've been going to Prairie Tire for 20 years, and not once been disappointed.
