What is going on here? I'm waiting for my colonoscopy and the front receptionist is such a jerk. She's short and curt. I asked to use the restroom. She got really upset because I asked. Wtf. You are dealing with people that have just prepped for a colonoscopy and you are giving an attitude. And not to mention, the bathroom is not even in the Dr office. And only one person can go at a time. She was so rude the woman next to me asked me where the bathroom was because she's afraid of her. They also asked for me to be here really early. Why??? I'm just sitting here in a cramped waiting room. I will never ever use a provider outside of Kaiser again. Lesson learned. read more

If ever I have to have another procedure, it would be here with Dr Lim and staff. Dr Lim, was very detailed in explaining to me prior and after procedure, in a manner that eased any concerns I may have had. From the beginning of my experience at the check in window, was very pleasant and informative. Jovanni followed shortly after check in, to get me set up and start my IV. Mylene and Fayth came by and made sure I was ok and positioned me and let me know what was occurring prior and what to expect during procedure. Fayth, definitely made sure I was very comfortable during my procedure. Some staff I'm afraid I may have forgotten to mention , but all expressed unwavering professionalism to my care. I was nervous to come based off some of the bad reviews on here, so there is my experience last week: - Walked in, front office staff was nice, I would say the only maybe negative thing is you could hear their entire conversation through to the waiting room, all about their weekend plans or whatever. If you are into eavesdropping, though, this will entertain you. If not, it will bother you. - Was called back to my room within ten minutes of my check in time. Surprisingly fast. - super sweet girl took my vitals and set up my IV. I was cold so she gave me two warm blankets. Anesthesiologist came and talked to me. Waited in that room for about ten minutes total. - wheeled back to surgery room where Dr Lim greeted me. Got the good stuff and went right to sleep. Woke up immediately in a new room. - they called my husband. This was all done an hour EARLIER than projected. - Dr Lim came and discussed results. Side note, I love Dr Lim, he's the best. Then I was walked out. - everything went smoothly and the center called me the next day to check in. Very good experience. It seems like they have ironed out some issues that previous patients have had. Hope this helps. read more

I had an upper endoscopy twice within the last three months at this center and both times, everything was great. Today's appt (9/9/25) was especially good. Carmelle was wonderful in getting me ready for the procedure. Though I've had this before, it was early, I was tired, I was thirsty, and I still felt a little scared. She was really nice, supportive, and efficient. She does a painless IV stick too! Sara was another person who stood out. She was there after my procedure and seemed to really care about my comfort. I so appreciate this type of service/caring in an environment that can be intimidating no matter how old you are or how many times you have had procedures done. I hope these employees are recognized as their efforts really make a difference to patients. I highly recommend this surgery center. read more

Overbooked place. I had a colonoscopy schedule for early in the morning around 9am. waited an hour in lobby and another hour after nurse had done their work. During the colonoscopy they told me I would be in complete sleep but I could feel the tube in my stomach causing me discomfort. I had done at least 4 colonoscopy previously over the past 10 years and this has never happened. I would not recommend coming here again though the nurses and doctors are all nice. read more

I had my procedure here instead of at my regular provider because they are backed up. This place was fantastic and extremely nice. The staff was professional, kind, compassionate and that means so much when you are going in for a procedure and not knowing what the outcome will be. Avoid. You will find this place to be disorganized and overbooked. I went here just to get the screening out of the way since Kaiser was overbooked. What a mistake! They perform the colonoscopies as fast as possible and don't even take the time to remove the air from your colon before they exit. I was not only in excruciating pain for a day, but they nicked an artery and I almost bled to death a couple days later. The doctor never even followed up with me after the procedure. Go somewhere else and interview your doctor before you get a colonoscopy, I had no idea this could happen from a simple screening. I had my colonoscopy on Monday 26, and I am very pleased with the process. I was very hesitant after reading some reviews, however, I had researched Dr E. Navabi an only read and heard great things about him. He listened to me, and allowed me to have a "twilight" sedation, I was awake during the process, watching everything on a screen and the Doctor was explaining along the way what he was doing and finding. It went super smooth!!... the nurses were so sweet, kind and professional, Kathy, one of them. I picked that place because they clean their equipment with Peracitic Acid that is much better than OPA to my opinion and others. Again, thank you Dr Navabi you were great! It shows your experience and knowledge. Ps. I would suggest that the girls in the front/reception area should greet patients with a nice smile and a "good morning"!!! Manners are very important, they should be kinder knowing the type of treatment we will be receiving and that most of us are seniors or mature people. read more

This place is really odd with their billing. They have told me what my copay is at time of service and invariably charge me again for around half of what I already paid after my insurance pays. I have never experienced this problem with any other medical services business before. And, evidently I have no recourse, so I have to pay them, after weak explanations to my inquiries. It looks as though they overinflated their costs to such levels that no one could decipher their billing methods, then coincidentally the patient owes MORE after insurance pays. I will find another doctor and surgery center for my routine procedures. read more

Kaiser outsourced my procedure to United Surgery Center in Irvine. I was a little hesitant with the mixed reviews but was told they were doing this because Kaiser's wait time was too long. The process was a little confusing because I was told by Kaiser to wait for a call from United but then that didn't happen so I called Kaiser who told me to call United. They were easy to reach (saw some other reviews that said they couldn't get a hold of anyone), but if you call during their business hours which end at 1 pm?? Then you should get someone. What was confusing was I received a message saying I didn't need to take a Covid test and then the day before I started prep, they told me I did need one. So of course I freaked out as there was no way I could schedule one and get results back in time for my appointment. I called back the next day and they told me I did NOT need one. You are told to arrive 30 min before your appt to check in. Appt at 1, and I arrived at 12:23 to sign all my paperwork. There are at least 6 people sitting in the waiting room and apparently one person waiting outside. Very few people are going in and when they did, the rate was really slow. Like one person every 20 min if that. I was told I would be done by 2:30 (bc my husband needed to time it correctly to pick up our son from school). At 1:35, I still heard nothing. The lady sitting next to me went to ask and they said she would be up soon. I asked her when her appt was and she said 12:15 and she had been there since 11:45! She's like yeah, when they told you 2:30, I didn't want to say anything because they have been slow all morning. Great. I finally went to ask and they said I would be up next. Then this guy went up and asked and was told he was next but then I looked at the woman behind the counter and she said I was still next. Omg. Anyway, I finally got called in at 2:02 for my 1pm appt. All the nurses and the anesthesiologist were so nice and friendly and apologized for the wait. I had Dr. Lah and he was really nice, too. I was a little nervous bc I had never been put under before and then I was so dehydrated that they couldn't get the needle in. Ugh. There's really nothing you can do about that. Anyway, they said they had 40 appointments that day so they were really apologetic. I said it was fine, it's just the front desk needs to really set patients' expectations accordingly. Like you check in and they don't tell you anything. Like when we're ready we will call you in. Or, hey we are running behind by xx time. And with all us sitting there, they were just talking amongst themselves with us staring in. Good grief. Anyway, front area gets 2 stars as they're nice but kind of useless and nurses and doctor gets 5 stars. Better than the other way around! read more

Like the others I received a letter of referral to use this place and it was a nightmare. They never answer the phone and no matter how many times you call and leave a message they don't return your calls. I called no less than 10 times and got lucky to finally get a person to get me scheduled. I had several questions, but no one had a clue what is involved or what they actually do. I got scheduled received an email from them that kaiser setup and found I couldn't keep my appointment. Well again no return call or response to several messages requesting to cancel. This place has a front office that doesn't want your business as the kids won't have time to post on tik-tok. Please don't bother them and make them actually work for their money it will just piss them off... read more

Took a family member here for a procedure and was not allowed to wait in the waiting room. The building had nowhere to wait. The procedure was slated to take anywhere from one hour to three so I needed to be close. They wouldn't even let me wait with them prior to the procedure. No masks were offered and no masking was required so Covid was not the reason. No health information was discussed in the waiting room so HIPAA was not the reason either. This was just unnecessarily rude. Any further procedures scheduled here we will refuse. Shame on Kaiser for referring people here. read more

Same as what others have mentioned, Kaiser was booked up for months, so I was farmed out to this facility. I just Just left their facility after completing all night prep, no sleep, arranging coverage at work and transportation. I arrived on time, seen within 10 minutes, answered all questions, signed all papers, IV inserted waited another hour. Told I was going to be next and then another person came in and took another full medical screening of questions. Again wait, lots of muffled voices and then a nurse comes in apologizing they couldn't do the colonoscopy. WHAT????? Gave the excuse that my BMI was too high. SO why at the time of the booking my appointment (because you darn well know they already had my referral and medical info, wasn't I told that the referral was being denied? Also, I don't believe that was the only reason because of their perseverance on other medical issues that I haven't had for a zillion years or medications I am no longer taking. So now I am told they goofed and have since changed their process to do a better job screening referrals. I was told I was the only person this had ever happened to. Really? Human error at my expense, I guess. They said they added a line to their paperwork to identify the BMI number, but I said their procedure needed to change before booking the appointment not wasting time after an appointment was made. (believe me, I would have been equally mad if I did prep and showed up) Their method of accepting/screening and booking referrals definitely needs to be improved. With all of this being said, I don't fault the nurses, they were all very nice. It starts and ends with management - only they can make changes and see to it, that it doesn't happen again. read more

Kaiser outsourced my colonoscopy to this surgery center and I must say they were extremely professional, wonderful nurses and my procedure must have gone well, as the anesthesia worked its wonders and I woke up and was escorted to my ride home. Highly recommend them. Their follow up made you feel special both pre-op and post-op. read more

The last clinic Kaiser referred me to was subpar in my opinion. When Kaiser again referred me I requested NOT again to the last clinic. So I was referred to United. I am very pleased with the entire process and if again in the future Kaiser has to contract my colonoscopy out, I will request United. Also the doctor had great bedside manner, made me feel valued and afterwards I have had no negative reactions or discomfort. The last clinic I was extremely sore from their procedure. read more

This is for the billing team. I repeatedly asked if this center was "in network" for my insurance and the amount I would pay for my procedure and was told 3 times it would be X amount. It wasn't. The facility was out of network and they sent me multiple bills to pay after the fact, including $200 over a year later. If you are getting cost quotes, get them all in writing from the billing department. read more

An now today I had been waiting since 9:15am and had to wait in the hall where there is LIMITED seating also it's now 11:12 and still no one has brought me back to be seen... Patient communication at this facility is poor. If you have ANY questions prior to the procedure, find somewhere else. I was referred here for colonoscopy but have some medical issues related to anesthesia and need to speak with the doctor or nurse anesthetist before the procedure to see if they can even accommodate me. Despite raising my anesthesia issue at scheduling, requesting a call back at that time, and calling multiple times to follow up, I could not reach anyone but a receptionist who says someone will call me back. I finally reached a charge nurse who advised me to get a prescription from my primary care physician (the doc who referred me here) and take that prescription a few hours before surgery. But of course my regular doc can't prescribe medication for me to take during surgery under another doctor's care, that's the purview of the doc/anesthetist doing the procedure. Back to calling the center again, receptionist promising a return call, nurse advising me to get a prescription from my primary care physician. My primary doc even spent a day trying to reach a physician/anesthetist at this center to discuss, with no luck. Perhaps this center is good for routine appointments with patients who have no questions, concerns, or other medical/anesthesia issues. But those who have questions prior to the procedure or any history/condition requiring anything but a colonoscopy factory on auto pilot ... should consider another center. Update: Friday before the procedure, reached a nurse at the center who told me to get a prescription from my primary care physician. Run around again. I asked them to speak with my physician to coordinate my treatment and was told that communicating outside the united surgery center office is beyond their scope of care. She further told me that speaking with my physician about my anesthesia would be unethical. Note: my spouse went here for colonoscopy a few weeks prior to my scheduled date and had no problems. But he doesn't have my medical issue and had no questions. When I picked up my spouse, I was given no verbal instructions, just a packet of discharge papers. The preprinted discharge papers referenced conversations no one had with us, eg "additional instructions were given to the support person who picked you up after the procedure." It worked out okay for him - staff was super friendly the day of the procedure but zero communication before the visit - he rates it 3 stars (minus 2 star for no info prior to the visit) read more

The knowledgeable nurses explain what to expect in great detail and show sincere concern about my comfort and well-being. The facility is spotless and run with efficiency. I have gotten in immediately and, also, have had to wait awhile, based on what is happening with patients on a particular day.It was well worth a short wait, knowing I would receive unparalleled focus, thorough explanations, and stellar care every step of the way. read more

I was referred here by Kaiser for a procedure. The staff called ahead of my appt. to go over everything and to answer any questions I had. When I arrived, everyone was kind and attentive, ensuring I had everything I needed. They even made sure I was warm when I changed into the gown. Staff was light hearted and put my mind at ease before the procedure. Everyone was professional and the anesthesiologist, I believe here name was Katie, was amazing with her calming demeanor. The dr was professional and came out afterwards to advise of how things went. The post op nurse gave me water and crackers and walked me out. Relatively speaking, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend this center for your surgical needs. read more
