Oleksander was great. I had try to diagnose a couple of things before he got there like is the defrost mechanism not working/not getting a signal/understanding the wrong temperature. He came in and brought several diagnostic tools to diagnose that there was a leak of refrigerant and was able to empty the lines and put in self healing sealant to block the problem. The freeer started working again immediately. He advised that we will have to keep an eye on it for the next month and if the issue returns the leak is in another part of the system. I felt like he listened, he brought a lot of expertise and tools that were invaluable, and he spent the time to diagnose it for a while before presenting me with my options. Universal Repair was immediately responsive-- like within 10 minutes-- as Yelp stated. With no apparent reason, our brand new washing machine wasn't getting water. Oleksandr the technician, arrived promptly that same day and fixed the problem, in about 10 minutes. From the time he arrived, he knew exactly what he was doing: from using an electric drill to undo 8 screws, jiggling the wiring throughout the motherboard; testing the circuits, etc. Basically it looked like he had worked on nothing but our washing machine his entire life. Unfortunately, he had to return 6 weeks later to fix the same problem. However, it was definitely not his fault and there was no charge. His final diagnosis: We had had a 6 hour power outage which messed up the cycle and timer. His suggestion was simply to unplug the machine and wait 5-10 minutes for it to re-boot. Oleksandr is a very skilled repair technician. Our 20+ year old refrigerator/freezer was struggling to keep things cool and we were very worried that it was about to die. We called Universal Repair on Sat. afternoon and were able to get an appointment for early this morning. For those who think that Universal Repair is overpriced, keep in mind that a business has to have insurance to protect themselves, their employees, their business property, and insurance to cover any damage they may cause to the property of customers. In addition, they have to have insurance on their company vehicles, their office space, etc. Being in business is costly to the business owner, and they do have to have parts for repairs in stock, and they do have to maintain their company vehicles. He took the entire stove apart and finally, after 2 hours, pulled the stove out from the wall only to discover that a mouse had chewed thru the wire. He spliced the wire. Stove immediately came on.
