Lunch special veggies and shrimp

Food is good and i thought i found the favorite thai restaurant in the neighborhood. Ordered lunch special shrimp with veggies for 15.95$ and got 4 shrimps and small amount of veggies. I understand everything is expensive nowadays but why the portions are shrinking when the price is up?!

Really good Thai food in a homey restaurant. Service is very attentive and friendly. Portions are huge and food comes out quickly and piping hot. We shared a shrimp Pad Thai, chicken Panang curry and a spicy chili fish fillet dish. The pad Thai had large well cooked shrimp and the noodle dish had mix of savory, sweet and sour. The curry sauce was thick and flavorful, with a little nuttiness. The chicken was tender and copious with green beans, carrots, potatoes and onions. The fish was fried snapper strips sprinkled with chili sauce, lemongrass and basil. Everything was delicious!

Delicious! My favorite Thai restaurant closed a few years back and this is the closest I've experienced. The service turns up the notch on rating this place- staff is welcoming and they provided excellent recommendations. The spring rolls were crispy and the fish dish was the perfect blend of spicy, saucy and sweet (fish). I'll be back for certain.

This place is cute and bigger than expected. The menu is beautiful. We started with Thai Iced Teas which were yummy. I ordered the red curry with tofu and asked for it to be spicy to which they did not disappoint. My friend ordered the Pad Thai which he said was delicious. Service was good. I would come back here again and try something different.

Pad See Ew (~$17) with Beef

Ordered: Pad See Ew (~$17) with Beef: stir fried flat noodle with beef, egg, Chinese broccoli seasoned with light garlic soy sauce Aya's take: It didn't take long for me to come back to Up Thai and I'm so glad I did because this meal was EVEN BETTER than the last. This beef pad see ew is the TRUTH. The garlic soy sauce is super flavorful. The beef is tender with some crispy bits from the wok which give it some nice depth. The Chinese broccoli had a nice crunch and the flat noodles soaked up all the flavor well. I inhaled this. Highly recommend this dish!

Garlic and Pepper Tofu

Where has this been all my life? My guest and I enjoyed amazing flavor profiles and textures at a recent visit to Up Thai, mercifully free of the oil, heaviness, and blandness of other Thai places within even 15 minutes of here. We ordered the fried tofu, which was served hot and crispy with an oil and peanut dip; the se ew with beef, which had delicious and amazing caramelizatjon along the beef and the noodles, and was brightened by some greens; and the garlic and pepper tofu, which was fresh, pretty, and colorful. Sauces tied everything together on the palate. In addition to chicken, tofu, and beef, they offer lamb and sea bass as proteins, for a large and ambitious menu. The veggies were so flavorful that if they were your meal by themselves, you'd never miss the protein. I look forward to coming back for more! The parking lot is sort of a travesty if you come in from the northernmost entrance - if you're coming from Denville, turn at the second left for much nicer parking spots.

Crispy Spring Roll

Stopped in for a later dinner (7pm) on a weeknight and I was the only one in the restaurant. At first it was kind of a red flag but then I noticed a constant flow of takeout orders being picked up. I ordered the spring rolls and chicken pad thai (classic, I know). The food arrived in a reasonable time and I loved it all. The portions were very fair for the price and I was full by the time I left. The spring rolls were crispy and I loved the sauce. My favorite part was that the pad thai wasn't overly covered in sauce. It was the perfect balance which is hard to find at some thai restaurants. The staff was very friendly and they took great care of me. The parking was simple and the dining room was very clean.

I didn't have much interest in Up Thai previously because they don't offer gluten-free drunken noodles, my favorite dish. My friend suggested we meet there for dinner and I decided to give it a try, and I am so glad I did. We visited the BYOB establishment on a Thursday night, and it was fairly busy, but we were able to get seated quickly. The menu has typical Thai staples, and I decided to try the spicy chili tofu, which was wonderfully seasoned. My friend's green curry was delicious, and I'll be ordering that for my next visit. Both dishes came with a small bowl of rice, which provided a perfect balance for the meals. The service was great, and we were attended to when we needed something, so I'll definitely be returning.

Our favorite Thai place in Rockaway (Pearl of Siam) closed so our radar was out for another good local replacement. Yelp reviewers have given this small place a bunch of positive reviews so we took a shot on take out. Happy to report that our experience has been five stars. We have had a variety of items and each one was yummy in the tummy without requiring an asbestos palate to handle the spice. That's really smart because you can always ask them to "kick it up a notch" if that's your taste. The prices, like most Thai places we have been to, are a bit strong but not out of line with the quantity and, more important, the quality. Their sauces - always a treat with good Thai food - taste fresh and nicely compliment the dishes we have ordered. My wife is a vegetarian and loves their take on tofu dishes. Me, I dig in on the shrimp rolls and curry puffs - two dishes that are the best I have had at any Thai restaurant. They have small tables outside but so far we have only done take out. Their service is always quick so trust their ETA when you place a call-in order. We have been gettin food here for a few weeks and each meal has been very good. Give these locals a try - it's great to have a quality Thai restaurant nearby. Recommended

Thankfully, Mintea just a quick drive north on Ridgedale Avenue in Morris Plains has completely filled the void left by Laku's untimely demise. While the dining area's minimal decor clearly prioritizes function over atmosphere, the food and service are where this place truly stands out. The menu runs the gamut of Asian cuisines -- covering Japan, China, Thailand, and Vietnam -- and every single thing we've tried is incredibly well-executed. My dining companion and I have ordered everything from sushi to soups and noodle dishes and nothing misses the mark. The service is also terrific. The servers are genuinely friendly and attentive without ever being overbearing. One of the long-tenured servers always asks my dining companion how her father is doing -- because he had joined us once for dinner at Mintea a few years ago. If you're looking for a reliable, delicious spot that hits all the right notes, Mintea is a fantastic addition to the rotation. PRO TIP #1: Bring cash. I've tried a variety of sushi, and it's always fresh and delicious. The rice dishes are great too, and I especially love the wonton soup, which uses thin pasta instead of the thick noodles that most spots serve. I also tried the Pad Thai, but it wasn't really my favorite because the noodles weren't my preferred type, and the shrimp were a bit large and gummy. That said, overall this is a really great sushi spot that I'll happily return to for their consistently fresh sushi and flavorful dishes weekly.

So don't come here for ramen; come for an incredibly tasty, inexpensive sushi experience. I had an amazing roll, and let me tell you, the presentation is stunning. It came out sizzling on cast iron, while my server spooned garlic sauce over the top to cook it and add dazzle. Filled with avocado and spicy tuna, the portion would be perfect for sharing with someone. I also had a dynamite roll, which more or less melted in my mouth. I was less wild about the Christian crosses at every table. I'm a secular person. All in all though, Asahi qualifies as a hidden, off-the-beaten-path gem of Parsippany.

We looked at each other, nodded, and made a quick 180-degree turn, then drove to another local establishment for our ramen fix.

Every staff member was attentive, from those bringing bread and drinks to those checking in just to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. The owner personally stopped by to make sure we were having a lovely time, which added an extra touch of hospitality. The venue itself exudes classic elegance--it feels like "old money" charm and could easily be a backdrop for a scene in The Godfather. For dinner, I ordered the classic Caesar salad, pan-roasted Angus filet mignon with potato au gratin, and the chocolate soufflé. The salad was what you'd expect--fresh and well-prepared. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and served in a surprisingly generous portion. The chocolate soufflé must be pre-ordered, and while my husband loved it, I realized I personally prefer a lighter, airier chocolate cake--but that's simply a matter of taste, not execution.
