I stopped by for happy hour on a Thursday with a friend and the place was nearly empty. The restaurant has a nice interior and the hostess kindly moved our table to be away from the sun at our request. We started off with a round of lychee martinis and got the rock shrimp, optimistic roll, and super kani roll (which our waiter informed us was his favorite). The lychee martinis were PHENOMENAL and definitely one of the best i've had. It has the perfect ratio of vodka to lychee juice and of course a lychee. The rock shrimp was pretty good and a solid portion for happy hour. The rolls were a decent size as well but I do wish they were wrapped in normal seaweed as opposed to soy paper. The restaurant definitely filled up quickly as it approached dinner time. I would definitely come back! read more

Wanted some sushi when I was in downtown Morristown. They have a nice sitting area, a bar to sit at, and a more private back sitting area. I sat at the bar. There were a ton of bottles on the back. Ended up getting some Japanese whiskey (Toki) on the rocks. It was really good. The service here was kind of lacking to be honest. They didn't hand me a menu and when they did hand me one, they didn't hand me a happy hour menu. I am assuming they just thought I was going to the bar to have a drink only. I ended up getting the spicy salmon roll. I was really impressed by the roll! I liked how the ginger wasn't dyed. They also put the spicy sauce inside the roll instead of slathering on the outside like a lot of sushi places do. The quality of this roll was definitely unmatched. read more

Sea bass roll had several pieces with no fish, and the rest with small amounts. My husband and I just love the Happy Hour at Sushi Lounge! We have been several times since they moved to their new location! Bartenders are great, they are very attentive and make a wonderful cocktail! And the food is always delish, so fresh and tasty and a great bargain at happy hour! We ordered the Optimistic Roll and Red Hot Roll.. my favorite.. I especially love the little slice of jalapeño and micro cilantro on top it's fantastic! I was really looking forward to trying this place as I've had great meals at the locations in Totowa and Hoboken. However, I did not have the most memorable experience. The drink order that we placed a few minutes after being seated came after the entrees were served. I was a bit turned off but was looking forward to trying the cocktails. I ordered the lychee blossom, which looked great, but unfortunately, did not have any lychee flavor. To be honest, I'm not even sure what the drink tasted like because it didn't taste like any of the ingredients that were in the description. The server inquired about the drink and recommended that I try the hibiscus sunrise instead. It was a much more balanced cocktail, and the sweet/salty rim was addictive. The mixed sushi platter that I had was delicious, albeit on the smaller side. I was able to finish it in less than 3 minutes. The Thai basil chicken that my mate had was a more sizable portion and was very tasty. Since I was still hungry from the sushi, I ended up finishing this dish. Overall, the music was great, service was pleasant but I don't think I'll be in a rush to return. read more

I remember Sushi Lounge as being at the he top of their game just a few years ago. Great sushi and and a clubby atmosphere with great music programmed by a live DJ. My wife and I were looking for someplace special to spend our wedding anniversary and we chose Sushi Lounge. Sorry to say it was a complete disappointment. The meal was mediocre at best and the great music we were looking forward to was reduced to a sub par, prerecorded mix of 80's music. Not that there's a problem with 80's music but we were looking forward to a bit more. The sushi was not good. They mixed up our Sake flight twice and we couldn't wait to leave. I get that there's been a pandemic but it's time to come back, serve your customers and step up the game. I'm sorry about the two star rating, however It was very generous to say the least. The restaurant is very chic and cozy, making your dining experience intimate. The menu contains several options for gluten-free and vegetarian eaters, but I did bring my own gf soy sauce out of habit when eating sushi-that's just how I roll. Good sushi and great ambience. We made reservations and they were much needed. The restaurant was a bit full which I wasn't too fond of, but the tables had dividers in between. Overall, good experience. They do ask you to leave after the hour and a half time limit which is perfectly fine. Just wish it was less crowded and didn't like being next to a table where the divider was a open. The divider went up to the chair of the booth, so if someone was sitting on the booth side at the table next to you you were exposed to them. The sushi was good! I liked my regular roll better than my special roll. I wouldn't get the special roll I ordered (Totowa roll) again, but I'd gladly order numerous spicy salmon rolls because they tasted so good and fresh. We ordered crispy rice for appetizer and ordered wine. The house wine was good - we are not picky with wine so the cheaper the better! We loved the crispy rice and would definitely get that again. Loved the regular roll, wasn't the biggest fan of the special roll. Will definitely be back. Keep in mind, it is pricey for sushi. A regular roll with 6 pieces was around ~$8. If you're looking for a good assortment of Chinese/Japanese food, this is the place for you. The drinks are an added bonus. They looked like they had awesome drink specials, but didn't want to risk getting on due to me being the driver. One other thing I loved is that you are not limited to just sushi! We all ordered the two roll special for lunch and they were good sized rolls but definitely had more rice in the ratio than I've hope for at this price. We also split an appetize of crispy rice and spicy tuna... (do yourself a favor and pop over to Takashi across the street instead for this appetizer... Takashi's is super fresh but this one felt stale.. maybe old oil?) Overall, the ambiance and scene here is what you pay for - during the weekend and at night, it's obvious it's a fun spot.
