    Salmon BLT and fries
    Patricia M.

Stopped here for a late lunch. I was able to sit outside on the patio as it was a gorgeous day. Service was very good and it was efficient. I ordered my usual Bad Elmers Porter and then I tried their salmon BLT. The salmon was nicely cooked and so was the pepper bacon- nice and crispy. The aioli was tasty. My only complaint is that sandwich came on a brioche style bun that was as just too soft for the sandwich so it started falling apart. I got the fries with it and they were hot and very tasty.

I stopped in to kill some time as I was waiting for a deli order to be fulfilled at Whole Foods. I went straight to the bar and was tended to right away. They had some good sours on draft that day.

I've been to Upland at Clay Terrace more times than I can count. I keep coming back to see my favorite neighborhood bartender, Sara. She pretty much runs this place. This is my "Cheers" where everyone knows my name. When the weather is nice I love bringing my dog with me to chill outside on the patio. They provide ice water and big water bowls too. The food is consistently delicious. The service is excellent. They have seasonal food and drink specials. It's like a bougie sports bar vibe. Busy on game nights. Packed at the bar. The staff here are some of the kindest and hardest working people I know. Today we tried the Blackened Crush Salmon Salad. It was really good definitely hit the spot. I had the Two of Tarts to drink. Really refreshing. Thanks again! See you soon.

We stopped here after the going to Atlanta Earth Festival. Great atmosphere especially when the garage doors are open. Perfect place to catch a game and sip the awesome Off Hours Bourbon Peach Smash, which all by itself, is worth a visit. By the looks of it, they have a great selection of IPAs too. Our server, Vinny, was attentive and professional. The two negatives, are the flank steak tacos. You get $9 worth of food for the $18 price. Do not order if you hungry; most appetizers have more food. The second is somebody skipped bathroom duty in the women's restroom. My wife said the first stall was out of toilet paper and the second was clogged and nearly overflowing.

Nice spot with good beer options with a welcoming vibe. Decent food options to pair with the brews.

Three cheers a new family-friendly hang-out spot! I hadn't been to this location in Clay Terrace in years. There have been several different restaurants in this space, but Upland is by far my favorite. We stopped in at 3pm on a Saturday and there were people watching games at the bar and we ran into some friends eating lunch. We had two babies with us and our server couldn't have been nicer. We were sat next to the big garage doors and the babies loved looking outside. There was also some room around our table to spread out, so we felt super comfortable. We got two of the Hoosier lager beers and they were great. They let you try drinks before ordering and I liked tasting the guava sour, which I'll order next time. We also got a few baskets of fries for the table and they were SO good - more like thick potato chunks double fried, clearly in-house. Delicious. The only thing that would've made them better is if they came with a sauce on the side. They have a cool food menu here too with interesting options like lamb bolognese, duck tacos, whipped feta with jalapeno honey, and more. Our server said that the turkey and guac sandwich is her favorite, which I had my eye on and will order next time. Thanks Upland! We'll be back and especially can't wait to sit out on that patio during warm weather!

My husband and I went on a Saturday night - it wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. Our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything. They have several tvs with different channels (mostly sports) on so you can watch at any angle. They have outdoor seating as well for when the weather is nice. The food was great! We ordered the smoked wings, fish and chips, and nachos (with spicy chicken) - yes, we ordered too much for the two of us, but we almost finished everything because it was good. Would come back again!

Tried to come in and buy canned beer to go and it was impossible to get help. By the time I got help the bartender couldn't be bothered. I've recently bought sours in a can here and she said they didn't have any sours in cans only large bottles and went back to making drinks. I could literally see sours in the fridge on the side closer to the kitchen. Customer service is lacking

This is a great location to grab a bite, beer and watch some Sunday football. They have televisions at every angle! The food and service I received was good, no complaints. The only reason why this review is missing a star is just because this restaurant is very "ordinary" to me. There is nothing extra spectacular about the food, drinks or vibe. They're all good but it's definitely not a must visit for me.

TL;DR Fantastic beers, good food and a welcome addition to Clay Terrace. Sara (no h) is the best bartender, ever! Taking over Prodigy Burger's location, they cleaned up the restaurant, removed the stale beer smell and offer a much better food and beer. I opted for fish and chips which were good. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich. We split the spinach artichoke dip that was served with pita bread and blue corn chips. This was fantastic. The beers we superb. But Sara, she's the best! We will be coming back to see Sara again, and try other food offerings. I have my beer dialed in.

10/10 experience every time. We've been on the hunt for our Sunday brunch spot and have concluded Upland Clay Terrace is the winner. Food is just outstanding. Sarah is the absolute best server/bartender in town and the reason we frequent this location. You won't be disappointed.

First time here and it was very nice. Open and welcoming space. Food was very good. We had the nachos and others had a cheeseburger tofu salad and house salad. Service was good and loved the thank you as we walked out. Loads of tv sets to game watch. Beers are always solid although I passed due to det Jan. Loads of parking at the rear of the restaurant. You'll enjoy eating here.

We stopped in here for a few drinks to watch the Lions game. We got seated right away. The facility is nice inside. Our server was on point all night. Got a great selection of beers. The nachos were good. Looking forward to many more visits.

Do they serve wine and alcohol too?

Yep! A handful of wines and a good selection of cocktails. Sara can probably make anything your heart desires. 🥳

Big Lug Canteen delivers a memorable meal from start to finish -- friendly, unpretentious service,…read morea warm neighborhood vibe, and two standout dishes that I'll be ordering again. The Brussels sprouts are an absolute triumph: perfectly blistered with a caramelized exterior and tender interior, dressed in a harmonious balance of bright acidity and savory depth. Little crunchy bits and a subtle smoky char add texture, while a finishing sprinkle (and a hint of something sweet-salty) elevates them from simple side to a show-stealer. The Korean salmon is equally impressive. The fish arrives flaky and moist with a richly glazed crust that carries sweet, spicy, and umami notes in perfect proportion. Layers of flavor -- gochujang-forward heat, sesame brightness, and a touch of citrus -- play against the salmon's natural richness without overpowering it. It's plated thoughtfully, with complementary sides that keep each bite balanced. If you're at Big Lug Canteen, don't pass up those two dishes -- they demonstrate skilled technique, bold yet nuanced seasoning, and a real sense of care in the kitchen. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, solid value. Highly recommended.

Our server was pretty great, and up front about wait times. We went when the kitchen has a crew shortage, so there was a wait for food. For appetizers: nachos were great, but if you ordered a simple nacho, it's meh, we had to add several things and added $$ to make it REAL nachos. The dip for the pork rinds was good. The table ordered truffle fries, they finished it. It was our first time trying Upland beers. Most of the options are IPA and tart beers. None of which I like. The mixed drinks menu was meh, they offer 2 hard ciders, but one was unavailable. Our server let us try samples and she was very patient. For main dishes: I ordered a Salmon BLT. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I didn't eat it with the bun, salmons was very thin, 1 piece of bacon, slice of tomato and 1 piece of lettuce. We had mac and cheese, DO NOT ORDER, it was floating in fat and there's no taste to it. Fish and chips was okay. The pizza was the highlight, it saved the night, I think. Bathrooms clearly labeled, easily seen, and clean. For 6 people, 2 of whom did not have alcoholic drinks (just water), our bill with tip was over $350. I would not come back here again, I had a better time and better food at other breweries.
