I come here all the time, every time I come the service is worse. Pulled up today for some wings and small pizza at 9:42. As I walked in the lady immediately with an angry face yelled "pick up?" And I said "no, wanted to eat in. Am I still able to?" And she rolled her eyes and said "I close at 10" and I said "so no??" And she said "you can only sit in the middle". I continued to order as she huffed and puffed with a nasty attitude, the receipt says the cashiers name is karmina. At the end I just told her to put it to go. I advise the owner to maybe set a kitchen close time if his employees are going to be upset and rude about costumers coming in to buy some food since I'm pretty sure most of their costumers are locals. Pizza is great, it couldn't be better. The customer service - not so much. Came in a few weeks ago and it was freezing in the dining area. 50s outside and cold refrigerated air blowing down on the tables. We asked to talk with the manager after being told that they could not adjust the thermostat. Waited half hour for the manager, she was too busy to see us as she was preparing food in the back. Today's visit we ordered a special pizza and asked if a small portion could be left plain as our elderly Mom can't eat all the items. The manager was not accommodating, saying we could only get half the pizza plain, and not a couple of slices. The reason stated was that "they never do it that way". Basically telling us they can't and won't accommodate. How difficult would it be to just not add any toppings on two pieces. It's not like we are even asking for different toppings - just no toppings. So much for customer service, ugh. read more

Gayle and I found Upper Crust Pizza by eyesight as we walked from our first WorldMark vacation "residence" (Plaza Resort and Spa) to find someplace for Lunch. Maybe we should have turned left instead of right when we reached Palm Canyon Drive, but that's what happens when one is new to the area. Our Lunch here consisted of a shared small Hawaiian Pizza and a large Caesar Salad, supplemented by beer for me and a generous pour of wine for Gayle. The portions were large, although we thought that the salad was a bit tasteless. As we talked and planned, we ended up finishing the fairly good pizza, which for Gayle (who can't handle too much bread) was something that unfortunately stayed with her for the afternoon. A couple things ran through my head while I was here: - Upper Crust looks kind of Shakey's Pizza old school. It's a place where families, couples, blue- and white-color workers on lunch break, and the kid's soccer team would all feel welcome. In other words, the place has a good well-priced selection, is comfortable and welcoming, and fast. However, we found that the Pizza was above average, but nowhere near OMG! - The President of Iceland (Guðni Th. Jóhannesson) was once asked what he thought of pineapple on Pizza. Dropping a star on this once favorite. It may be a victim of the economy or the storm we just had. I ordered a pizza with garlic sauce and it was not sauce nor any oil at least I didn't taste it. Unfortunately all I could taste was the jarred pre-diced marinated garlic. It was tangy. I asked for extra cheese and pepperoni the cheese was so scarce I called to check if I was charged extra. We ordered an xl pepperoni, sausages and jalapeños to go. Order was quick and ready when we arrived. The first was pretty nice and flaky. There was plenty of cheese. They could do a little more toppings considering it's almost $40 a pizza. Overall it's a good spot for pizza cravings. Ample parking spaces and friendly staff. read more

Pizza good. Salad good. We always come here when we're in town. While we always do takeout, this place also has a dining room with tons of seating. The only thing that kept me from giving 5 stars is the fact that I saw a gentleman with extremely long custom manicured nails preparing pizza without gloves. Not ok! Use gloves, people! Worst service ever!!!! We had to wait for over an hour for a pizza, salad, and wings. While we waited for over an hour there were no clean tables to sit at. We even asked if they can clean a table and no one ended up cleaning. We ordered extra toppings on our pizza and added chicken to our salad and when we received our food we didn't not get any of those toppings added even though we paid extra for them! I have been going to this restaurant for years and am sad to say it tastes nothing like it used to. The crust used to be so much fluffier with those amazing dimples they would form near the crust. Was this place sold to new owners and a new oven put in place? This is not the same restaurant. The pizza we ordered (Pepperoni) was average at best and definitely not worth the $25 they are charging. I Don't know why this place gets so many bad reviews since this place has been a comfort spot for me and my family for years now. There has never been a single time we have came here and had a bad experience even when it's super busy. Everyone here is cool, all very friendly and treat us like family. They have mini pizzas. And excellent pizza! Fresh dough, authentic sauce, just the right amount of cheese and toppings. I had the vegetarian pizza. My daughter had the ham and salami deli sandwich. We loved the pizza! It was definitely delivered on time if not early for my son's birthday party! It was great for the kids and the adults not like a lot of the other greasy pizza around. We got some salads too and though I didn't really get a chance to try them. They looked amazing! Went to this place and it was closed when it should have been open. There was a sign in the window from the Riverside County Department of Health which stated that they closed this establishment down. The County site stated that the place was shut down due to a cockroach infestation and history showed that this was at least the third time that the place was shut down by the County. read more

My family and I have been eating at Upper Crust Pizza for years, because their food is reliably tasty, their prices are always reasonable, they have a big, clean dining area, and lots of free parking. Besides the classic pitchers of beer and pizza, which has wonderful hand-tossed crust that is kinda thin, but nice and puffy all around the edges and always very good, I also really enjoy their Hombre calzone - a little spicy! Also I recommend the rail-road ties (garlic sauce and cheese on pizza crust), with green salad. Their green salad and their spinach salads are excellent. This place has been owned by the same great guy for many years, and he is often seen in the kitchen making sure everything is running just right. You can trust its good food in a nice place, and great for meeting up with friends and family for a good time. read more

Never have I had a bad enough experience until yesterday evening. My family are long-time customers, and I'm truly disappointed in the service lately for dinner. The employees are not personable at all when we come for dinner. Last night, I had family fly in, so I decided on a quick dinner. When we got there, again, we had the feeling of being rushed. The employees looked miserable.When we sat down to eat our salad, our guest found  black hair in it. They did have one employee the one with the shorts on she had her hair down making food, and it was black. I don't know the health regulations, but I think that's a no-brainer. Anyway, hopefully, it changes. I'm not knocking this establishment, just their employees. This is a town favorite, and I hate to see it go down because the employees don't care. But I would like to say that my husband and I go for lunch twice a week and the experience is literally night and day. The employees look like they're having fun, smiling, and always welcoming.
