What a cool little coffee shop. The staff is terrific here. They are able to make suggestions on what to try, and were very accommodating about requests for my coffee drink. The space can get loud as it has lots of hard surfaces, so maybe would not be the best place for a quiet conversation or deep concentration. The little donuts in the case looked delicious, and they have a nice variety of lunch items that I am eager to go back and try. read more

I've been to the one downtown (which is OK) so I decided to check out the Upper Cup while I was in the area out here. The drinks are pretty similar, but I will say this location is nice because it is a lot less rowdy than the one downtown. It's also in a much nicer area. It's also nice since the suburbs of Columbus don't always have the best or most artisan, small coffee shops so it's great to see that Upper Cup is bringing their drinks out of downtown! As for the drinks, they're pretty good--pretty standard. I like that Upper Cup roasts their own beans. As for the options, they don't really have a lot of exciting options for drinks. It's a very limited menu for pourovers and espresso drinks. I also wish there were more food options. They only have donuts at this location (which I hope to try sometime), but besides that, there's not much more. It's a great study space--super simple, not much to it. If you're going for good coffee, I would recommend stopping by across the street on the way out to Blank Slate Coffee which serves Mission Coffee's beans. read more

I usually stop by Upper when I'm near creekside. Today I asked the lady taking my order how the Ethiopian coffee was. She said "all the coffees are good". Her attitude was so nasty. I've never encountered such terrible answer. I ordered a sandwich, and I asked for a mustard or ketchup. They said they had mustard. I come back to get it. He says he is charging me. I refused and they threw it out. Ridiculous. I mean I come out to get a coffee before a long day and I have to deal with such nonsense. I would not be coming back when that lady is there. She was awful. Yuck attitude. I rather go across the street to blanks. read more

Nice little hidden gem in downtown Gahanna, right next to the parking garage! I went pretty early in the morning with no issues as far as being served in a timely manner. The owners are really nice! I got a chai and one of their donuts. The chai was really good!! Donuts are good but not sure they are worth the price. Well I was not overly pleased with the tippy hipster crowd atmosphere; not my thing. The food, is my thing. Nice menu with tasty treats and variety of foods well priced. Specialty coffees again I think it is well priced. If your a trendy person who likes free WiFi and a place to hang, this is for you. If you want to grab a sandwich and go, this is for you. I hate to give a negative review of a local coffee shop, but I have been here twice and both times the staff was very rude. They acted bothered that we showed up to get coffee. The coffee was burnt both times and the atmosphere is very poor for the nice area it is in. I'm sorry but this place really needs some help! read more

In LOOOOOOOVE with this second, huge location in Gahanna! Right near the creek side, so I'm a popping place with plenty of traffic! The owner, Sam, is an amazing person who truly supports various efforts around the community. There is a real craft to each beverage, and you can tell they take pride in their art. While I had a delicious chai iced tea our barista did not grant my friend's request for almond milk(she even corrected him when he said with whole milk, so he was told twice). She has an allergic reaction to milk and we had to cut our visit short because of the barista giving her a tea with whole milk. I've been here before and had a better experience but it was as not as busy. However coffee shops are usually busy and if you can't keep it straight it could lead to a life threatening allergic reaction for someone that would be tragic! I cannot grant more stars than 2. Though I have had excellent service here before and the coffee and teas are delicious food sensitivities and allergies need to be taken seriously and that alarms me. read more

I love this little, no frills coffee shop! The selection and quality of the coffee is great. One reviewer referred to it being hipster but I think it depends when you visit. I am a 67 year old grandma and I felt quite comfortable having my coffee there. Even better, it is right at Creekside, so you can take your coffee outside and enjoy the creek and pretty scenery if you'd be more comfortable. I highly recommend this place! read more
