Stopped here last Saturday and my goodness does this place look appealing from the outside. Your total country, rustic vibe and it continues within. The place is beautiful inside and the architect didn't miss an inch, so much attention to detail with their ceilings, moldings, decor, everything is really well done. We sat at the bar and truthfully didn't explore the rest of the restaurant, but we noticed they had some seating outside with a fire pit, right up our alley. The bar was not busy at all and after about 20 minutes or so, we were the only ones there around 3pm. Off hours, you know? We only drank, but I thought their menu looked awesome. Not sure why people are disappointed this place doesn't have steak, it's not advertised as a steakhouse....their menu was exactly what I expected, better even. They had tons and tons of beer and the bartender let us taste a few that we were unsure about. Lots of local stuff, which is always cool when you're at a bar that's in the vicinity of various breweries. I went with vodka and the bartender definitely knew how to make a good drink. They had some really interesting ciders and sour beers on the menu too, funky stuff, we loved it. The music was awesome, mostly country, the place was lively even though we were the only ones there. The bartender was great, friendly, attentive, social. We cannot wait to come back and try some of the food. read more

Beautiful space but lots of issues. We had 10 people at 9 pm and we called ahead. When we went in, the hostess said she wouldn't seat us until our whole party was there--while the place was emptying out. Nice waitress but slow service despite being empty. Many of us got the prime rib--no other steak options despite the name of the place and the picture of a steer on their logo!! Prime rib was very inexpensive compared to what I am used to in NY and not bad but the sides were inedible. Obviously cooked much earlier in the evening. The large space will attract many Cooperstown teams. However I would suggest Mel's or Bocca Osteria as much better food alternatives. read more

If you're a beer drinker it's a great place. The food however leaves a lot to be desired. The Philly Cheese Steak was 25 per cent fat. The rare burger was much too dry. The wine selection for a reds was only one out of the 5 shown and of course $10 vs $ 7 for the others. Two nights later they only now had a $12 red. read more

I get that I'm not in the South anymore but the service at this place was terrible. We waited for over 10 mins to even be acknowledged. If we weren't waiting on others I would have left. Drinks were good and food was decent. we had a party of 9 and everyone would have ordered another round if the server ever checked on us and at $10 a piece, you can do the math. One person asked for a menu to place a to go order and she literally rolled her eyes. We then asked for our checks, clearly we were 5 separate couples with no children and she brings one check. My guess is so she could add her 18% gratuity. Mistake! I waited tables to put myself through college. BIG MISTAKE! Oh well...you win some and you lose some and tonight we definitely lost. We were excited to try the new place in town. The decor was nice but when we were handed the menu I was surprised that it was more bar food than a steakhouse. We ordered the French Dip sandwich. The bun was nice but only about 5-6 inches long. The prime rib was thin and fatty ... couldn't have been more than 3 oz of meat!! The price for this tiny bite was a whooping $15.00!!! I was floored! We were here for the baseball tournament, saw this place on Yelp and it looked good. Well it wasn't good it was GREAT!!!! Food and service were awesome!!! Shannon was a great sport to put up with our husbands teasing!!! We had the wings, naked with sauces on the side!!! Sooo good!!! 2 had the tacos 1 shrimp and the other chicken. 1 had the burger and said it was good. I had the garden salad with salmon on the side. Sooo delicious and cooked to perfection!!! I am a local and have gone here in the past. We appreciate all the restaurants open in our area outside tourist times (like Monday) but adaptability to sudden crowds or maybe taking reservations (which they do not) would be helpful. The food has been good. It was pretty good tonight too. However they were caught off guard by a sudden influx of people on a Monday night, and were way understaffed. The bar was slow and not so friendly, only one bartender serving people while another was helping wait service, service at the table was a little slow but very friendly (I don't blame our waitress at all). I suggest making sure those guests waiting for tables can get fast bar service for drinks so waiting is a pleasant time. read more

I'll give it a 2 because our first stop here was good and we liked the food. However our 2nd stop was awful. Terrible customer service from the waitress up to the manager. Be prepared to be chastised for asking for a water with ice even when spending $250 in food. The story goes that they might run out of ice for those ordering pop (we ordered beer and pops and a few waters) and there were only a few tables with customers when we were there ‍ The waitress made such a big deal about it then as we looked around every other table had waters with ice. Spoke to the manager who also was flip about it and quite rude. Then the waitress brought ice and was completely unprofessional mumbling under her breath about the ice and being quite snarky. Really? So you have $37 steaks on your menu and $250 worth of food orders and you can provide ice water for your customers? In the end it wasn't even the ice that was the biggest deal, it was the snarky replies from both the waitress and manager that made us decide to pay for our drinks and cancel our food order and find a better restaurant down the road. We stopped by here on a whim because the other restaurant we planned on eating at was closed. I had the ahi tuna tacos that were amazing! My wife had the philly steak wrap and she loved it. Same owners as Bocca. Good food, place belongs on South Beach, not in Cooperstown. Take traditional dishes and upscale them a bit. Service was average but nice folks and welcoming. Had a "cuban sandwich" which slightly resembles the original. I am Cuban from Miami originally so I KNOW my Cuban sandwich! Yet, it was tasty. My kid had wing appetizer and they looked like they pulled them off an ostrich! My wife ordered shrimp appetizer and you needed a microscope to find them. Wife was disappointed but hey it was an appetizer for Gods sake....overall good food, good environment but pricy. read more

There are limited places to have a sports bar experience in Cooperstown. This one is OK. Food was decent. Our server was nice. The problem is that they don't split checks for parties of six or more. This was a HORRENDOUS issue. We spent 30 minutes deciphering our bill at our table of 10 that was only between three families. Very unprofessional and a terrible experience as a result. Either come with cash or don't come at all. In fact you might want to consider going somewhere else. Like Danny's market on Main Street. Their subs are great. read more

Beautiful and very busy bar at one end of the building... Very nice, clean and comfortable restaurant on the other side... Prime rib and Delmonico steaks were cooked to perfection... Very professional service... And they had a wonderful Porter which was very creamy and tasted a bit like coffee and chocolate... Delicious! The modern and well-lit interior of the building is very interesting with a combination of a Barn wood and industrial metal... Surprisingly new restaurant near Cooperstown. Drove past and couldn't help notice the design. Outside eating area with a beautiful fire pit to sit around on those cool evenings. Had the Hangover burger, soon much salt, I could literally feel my blood pressure go up as soon as I hit into it. Service was very slow and it was not busy. CHECK YOUR BILL! We had 2 meals and soup $65? My son got chicken Marsala $23.95 I had a burger $12.95 asked for medium rea and it was full rare ( I know better than to send ford back) and onion soup $7.95 I added it up and it was $43 + tax The .manager said he must have given the waitress the wrong bill. Warning for baseball teams: they will not split the check and will not seat more than ten people at a table. For real. We moved a nearby empty 4-top table to accommodate three more people and I literally got fussed at by the manager. He ended up letting us keep it there after some protest from our folks. I probably would've been more understanding if the place wasn't 85% empty. I would think that in a baseball town they'd be more accommodating to large groups. Food was good and service was ok. As sports bars go, this one is top shelf. Large group visiting late to watch an unpopular team in MLB playoffs. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The kitchen was closed, but the bar stayed open and the viewing options were plentiful... both critical. Highly recommend. read more

I went here with my family about 8 months ago on a Saturday night at like 7:00 and the place was packed. We went in to Upstate Bar and Grill for our 4th time probably. When we walked in we noticed no one at the line to get a seat except one person in front of us. They begged to get a seat saying "I haven't ate in hours please, any seat. After about 3 or 4 times they finally got her a seat. So when me and my family were about to say "just 3" they literally turned us down saying "I'm sorry we are out of seats." Unbelievable service and efficiency with large parties, and the food was great too! There were 37 of us- we didn't wait and didn't have a reservation- they offered to us to make individual split checks to make paying easier for us- fantastic - and we weren't even sitting by family! Three servers took our orders and we all had food within 40 mins of sitting down. Lots of food choices and the waiters were great! We had reserved for a group of 50+ high school baseball players to dine here on a Monday evening. We traveled 4+ hours for an overnight in Cooperstown. The restaurant had to close to the public due to emergency circumstances, but the manager Kristen and her staff called us that morning and knew there weren't any other places to accommodate us on that short notice. The food was amazing and the service was beyond excellent, especially given what they were dealing with. I would highly recommend Upstate B & G to anyone, based on their commitment to customer service under duress and I'm sure, at any other time. read more

Went to Upstate Bar and Grill last night and it was the best experience we have had at Cooperstown. When we arrived the owner greeted us and made us feel very comfortable and he was extrememly accomadating when we had more guests jpinh us for dinner than originally planned. The waitress was extrememy outgoing and friendly and the bartender even came to our table and explained the local beers they had on tap. The food was unbelievable. I ordered the The Free Range Chicken and it was so mosit and tender and the coccusso was delious. The portions were bigger than you expect and a great value . My girlfriend had a salad with grilled chicken, couscous and an excellent dressing. My friend had the pub steak and it was ok but he didn't care for the marinade.
