I came here for an afternoon bowl and the lanes were more modern with the colors and interior. However my lane did have some issues with racking the pins as it broke 3 times during my time. Food was very mid, but don't expect much from a bowling place. I had a good time here and would come back if I wanted to bowl and was in the area.

It's a lively, upbeat bowling alley. A nice space for birthday celebrations or fun gatherings. Upstairs, after 7pm is 21+ and a cover charge! There's live music, bar, table service, pool and bowling. Happy hour specials are available. The food was ok but nothing made a great impression.

I was surprised with how big this place is. I love the second story that overlooks huge screens for game day. Only reason I have 4 stars is because the bowling is a little expensive ($45 for 1 hour) but it comes with the experience of having a server and full food menu. They do have NA beer which I appreciated. Overall this is a fun atmosphere.

I had a fantastic time at Uptown Alley. We went after going to the movies and we weren't disappointed. The vibe as you walk in is festive and so inviting. The live music performance with Bombshell RVA was amazing! The drinks and food were so delicious and the servers were attentive and fast! Love hanging out at Uptown Alley!

At first I really thought how bad could this place be but it's kind of really bad! The people working there are so rude! Also it takes forever to get food AND drinks! And not just alcohol drinks for some reason that's faster but we ordered a sprite and water and it took 30 minutes! The food was bad so eat before! We got a pepperoni pizza, french fries, chicken tenders with tater tots, quesadilla and mozzarella sticks and everything was so bland and cardboard like! Good luck if you need help with anything because if you hit the server/help button no one ends up coming! Besides that the place is huge and the bar was nice so maybe after a few drinks this place would be better?

This is a fun place to just hang out and eat typical bar fare - but if you're planning on going for a well-maintained bowling alley, I would go elsewhere. We were on the upstairs lanes and had to move lanes because the first one didn't work well, the machines also kept missing our scores. The plus was - the chicken wings are decent taste. They had the right cook and the dry rub was well seasoned. They still have their QR codes around from the pandemic but ordering on those is difficult if you're like me and want to adjust menu items. I prefer ordering from the wait staff personally! Overall, a good hangout but not for bowling.

Spring rolls were served like this, ate one. We're assuming I got sick from this since my husband didn't eat any of these.

Service was non existent and when they did acknowledge you, we were treated as a burden. The food was cold and the appetizer, meal, and dessert(hot brownie with ice cream) came out all at the same time. We were never checked on. There were only two booths occupied, including us. Had to go to the bar for drink refills. Best part, got FOOD POISONING 4 hours later.

Came on a Friday night to see the band that was playing. Was surprised to see online that there was a five dollar cover charge, felt weird for the venue but it clearly doesn't keep them from having a decent crowd. Drinks were a little more expensive than I'd like to pay but pretty tasty. The live music was good and not super loud, which was impressive given the size of the space. Downstairs is the arcade which has an impressive line up of games. Getting a "token" card is easy and it takes cash. I enjoyed seeing games I'd never seen before and had fun trying some out. There were a decent amount of kids there kinda late at night, definitely a family vibe in the arcade and upstairs is 21+. Fun place to try out, wish it was a little cheaper.

Fun atmosphere. Attentive staff. Great time. Prices are a little on the expensive side. Food is typical bowling ally food...

Sure, it's not your Dave & Buster's game room but it suffices, espeically in combination with two hours of bowling.

This was our first visit to Charred and will quickly say we had a nice meal. Now I will say that…read moreI've round up my overall star rating. If I could I would have given it 4 1/2 stars, because it was good but not great but definitely well enough not to drop it to a 4. Let's start with the location: very nice and everything seems real clean and cared for. Even the men's room was decent at 6:00 pm at night. Now our server: Sidney was very attentive to us. She took very good care of us during our stay. Now the meal: Again it was good. The wifey had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. She tells me the sauce had a nice flavor but the chicken really had no flavor. Certainly not a Blackened flavor you would expect. The chicken itself was good and tender. As for me I had Shrimp and Grits. It also was good. It had onions and peppers in it and again the flavor of the onions and peppers just want there. Who knows. We also had the Brick Oven Brie. There was a really nice amount of Brie. So much that the toasted bread ran out way before the Brie. So as I said this was a good place and meal despite my small hits in this review. I firmly recommend this place because I do expect you to have a nice meal. Ps. To the owners: your link to your website doesn't work via Yelp. To potential customers: you will have to go your search engine and find the Charred site.
