Went to go sell my clothes as one does and they picked four items. A champion sweatshirt, good condition vans, and two tank tops all for $13 in cash or $16 in credit... most of the items in the store were $6.99 and up. I was expecting at least $25 but oh well. The employees were chill tho, the girl with blonde hair was shocked I said I want my clothes back instead of getting money lmao. I did buy a dress from there that was super cute BUT It was $15... I think that's expensive maybe $10 would of been good but again oh well. No weird smell anymore!! read more

If you want to sell your stuff i dont recoment yhis place. I took my party outfits which i wore only once, sales person said tha its out dated we cant buy but you can donate it all to them. Even if i dump it in trash i wouldnt donate it to them. looks like that its their trick. read more

I am quite grateful to have a cheapskate close by, I am the type of person who does not like to spend money on myself, only on others so being able to go to this place and get cute clothes for cheap when I need to works out really well for me. They have really cute stuff and really great prices and they are always having sales and deals. The people who work here are also very nice and always willing to help when needed. Great sale today with decent selection for men's apparel. Excellent value for name brands! There were less shoes to browse through but a couple of gems stood out. Great place to browse for current trends and great prices. And the customer service is exception.

Boring inventory, nothing unique, all mall brands. When I go sell, they don't even look through the clothing. They just glance at the top of the bag of clothes and ignore everything else. Would not recommend to sell or even shop at. The only good things they have are $50+ while everything else is just outdated and plain. You'd have more luck selling your clothing online or at another store. read more

i usually have a great experience at the yorba linda location because the people are so nice but the lake forest people are rude. i wouldn't recommend selling clothes here. i brought stuff from brands they posted on the website and they took nothing. i get it they can't take everything but no need to be rude about it. yorba linda location is definitely better. read more

I'm not gonna be so nice, but 100% honest! USED jeans previously owned, SHOULD NOT BE $27- that is NOT 'cheapskate' that is almost as much as I would pay at TJ max for a pair of American eagle NEW jeans. Something needs to be done about those prices. Tops- $9-up. Also, not very cheap. I understand you guys have a mortgage to pay- but live up to your store type/ commercial and name. I personally didn't expect to leave paying $62 for one pair of jeans and two tops. This won't happen again. Ps. My jeans were previously worn, and my top had a small tare on the tag area.. I will not be fooled again. Back to TJ max! :) Places like 'uptown' go down town when they disappoint customers who are looking for a good deal. At first I really liked this place it had cool clothes and for good prices. After a few visits an employee charged me more than I owed, I thought it was an honest mistake, so I went back and it was fixed no problem. I took my friend so we could sell some of our clothes and they ended up mixing up the names and put a full bag under someone's else name. The employee I left the bags with never called our name and people behind us in line with bigger bags got through in 20 minutes. We decided to shop elsewhere while waiting and came back about an hour later. When I asked for my clothes back they seemed uninterested and dismissive. Overall not a good experience for what used to be one of my favorite stores. read more

Don't come here expecting to find name brand items, these are all your average mall clothes, I spent quite a bit of time browsing the racks and nothing was worth purchasing. Service was friendly, the store over stuffed with merchandise, you really have to sort through it. Prices seem pretty much retail, not a huge fan and won't bother to come back here. read more

Great local thrift store geared toward the Gen Z's. Good selection, anything fr Pac Sun, Nike, Converse, to Lululemon. Prices slightly high for a "thrift" store IMO which is something they can work on but otherwise some fun stuff to check out if you haven't been. read more

I've been an avid customer to Uptown since they opened, I even frequent the Fullerton location. I will never shop for full price again! They offer brand name items for a fraction of the cost and they are often in good condition. My only set back is that the store can get quite messy, understandable given the number​ of customers and clothes they get, but sometimes I find super cute items on the ground, and they get dust and other stains on them. Other than that I love this store and would recommend​! Super friendly staff, good products, and a ​fun environment. read more

Decent secondhand store. I personally think they have too much clothes so it does get tiring trying to find a good find. And a good find is also really hard to find here since most of their clothes are geared towards the Gen Z crowd. And yes, it does have that thrift store smell when you first enter. read more

Update- I went in again on 1/7 to sell. There were three guys working there this time. Adam was a great buyer, courteous and respectful of my time. I shopped around while Adam was looking through sales items and within the 10 mins I was looking through the store, both of the other sales reps came up to me and asked if I needed assistance and if I was aware of the current sales which I wasn't. I ended up selling several items and purchased a lululemon crb tank using credit. Julian was my salesperson and he was great at engaging with me, eye contact and letting me know about the upcoming grab bag sale. I have to emphasize eye contact and engaging with me because I continue to shop at places where the sales person is just completing the checkout process while in conversation with their coworkers about their weekend or other plans. Lots of clothes to fit different styles and budgets. That's the only "pro." $5 discount with yelp review, but they read and check that your review is completely up and finished and that it's positive enough. Keep that in mind when reading over the reviews- basically paid to make them, so many of them may not be genuine. They're unclear and don't openly advertise the discount, I had to ask if there were any. If there are any problems with discounts or if you make a return, no money comes back to you, it's saved to store credit, even if it's their mistake, unless it's an issue where you were actually overcharged for a markdown item. My first time here, unhelpful/bad service, only coming back to spend my the money I got back as credit instead of cash. Great products, bad service. read more

not good! i go here quite a bit and donate clothes. When I walked in Amber, the worker didn't acknowledge me for 5 mins. I said excuse me and ask for the wait time. I told her the website online had it's about a 30 minute wait. She claimed she never heard of there company website. She made me feel crazy for actually knowing up the website. Amber was not helpful and did not take any clothes item. although I had plenty of summer clothes to donate with name brands. i was only in the store for 20 mins although she told me it would be over 40 mins. i do not believe she even check my clothes. Amber is not a good customer service worker and this will be the last time going to the store. read more

Went to sell some items and received wonderful customer service from Alexia! She was so kind and very helpful. Hard worker too. Very nice store, clean and well organized. Unfortunately, they didn't accept my high priced items or they offered very low amounts for what they would take ($6 for a $90 lulu lemon jacket). Would have given 5 starts other than that. I am 54 years old and brought in old clothing that I had lost weight and did not fit anymore. The staff was very professional U side in when you walk in and then you can go and shop around. They have great products for the young generation but they do cater to older as well. This is my new favorite consignment store! I don't understand all the negative reviews, lol. I really like that this place doesn't smell and feel extremely dirty like other thrift/consignment stores do. I also noticed a lot of unused, new items for sale. I didnt have a problem with customer service like other reviews stated either. The employees greeted and checked up on me every once and awhile, and the woman who checked me out was very friendly. Others must've just come on off days. I appreciated how everything was organized (some by brand, like Brandy Melville). I found a lot of cute things and ended up leaving the store with more than I expected! I got deals like a $50 Brandy cardigan for $15 and $50 American Apparel shorts for like $15 as well. Overall spent $70 on 6 items. I'm pretty impressed with this place! I guess the only thing I'd complain about is that one of the sweaters I bought from the men's section smells straight up like sweat or old water... but that's not really their fault. I first read the website and had some high end clothing from famous designers on cruise ship lines and needed to clean out some new items with tags never worn and filled three boxes with dresses, blouses, sweaters all in excellent condition. My husband carried the items in plastic crates and the young gal said put them in bins and fill out info on computer. I asked why they required my drivers license and she answered because it is a pawn shop licensed store. I filled it and she said shop around while they examined the items then within 5 minutes she called my name and said they would take nothing into more trendy fashions but could donate but not give us a tax receipt so no receipt no clothes given, I may be 74 but not ignorant and I do believe there is a law in Ca even target cannot ask for your license! I highly recommended they post they only take what they referred to as trendy whst I considered lower quality than the goodwill so we drove over to Goodwill received a tax receipt and came home. A warning their website states buy hours but nothing about only junk clothing not mentioned. Would no recommend anyone shop there unless you are desperate for junk! read more

Let me just start this review with this statement: There are better thrift stores in OC. So go to one that's worth your time and money!! Uptown "Cheap"skate is a thrift store that prices its used clothing items almost exactly to its ORIGINAL RETAIL value and overprices their worn-out, used shoes. If you're looking for thrift store values, then this isn't the shop for you. The clothing available for both men and women are targeted for mainly younger patrons (high school and young adult), with a majority of the brands being Forever 21, H&M, Brandy Melville, etc. Basically, it's a shop full of used, modern/casual clothing. So don't come here looking for vintage or business/dress attire. And while those aforementioned name brands may be worth a look, you'll find that the prices are just as much as if you were to buy the item retail & NEW (even as a sale price). What a rip off!! There are dressing rooms available, so I guess that's a plus. But do they wash the clothing before putting them out for sale? I don't know, but the inside of the store smells like a musty, garage sale and so do their clothing. And on top of that, just terrible TERRIBLE customer service. Rude employees not only to me (being someone around their age like 20's), but also to the older patrons in the store. No respect and no notion of what customer service is. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE & SELL YOUR GENTLY USED CLOTHING TO A BETTER PLACE! read more
