Professional, respectful, and clearly doing their best. My issue is entirely with the owner. I was sold an $8,000 two-ton, two-speed unit to service a roughly 600 sq ft master bedroom and bathroom. Even with my limited HVAC knowledge, I knew the unit was oversized. But the owner was extremely confident and assured me it was the right solution. It was not. The system has been a complete failure. Humidity regularly exceeds 60% RH, and trying to correct this has turned into a drawn-out mess. And the unit itself is only half the problem. The other half is the owner, Rey. Because the system wasn't performing as promised, I had to repeatedly call the company to inspect it. That is not my fault. I was sold a product that does not do what it was sold to do. During these visits, his own technicians told me that the owner referred to me as an "annoying customer." They also questioned why this particular unit was ever recommended for such a small space in the first place. I understand I was working within a budget. What I don't accept is being sold a poorly suited system just so the company could hit a price point. What made things worse was Rey repeatedly insisting that I demanded RH in the 50s. I have zero recollection of ever saying that. When I pushed back and pointed out that 50s is not the only acceptable or realistic target, he became defensive and sarcastically suggested that maybe he "isn't an expert" and "doesn't know what he's doing." He also claimed he has the same unit in his own home and that it works great. That comparison is meaningless. His home is far larger than a 600 sq ft space. The final straw was when they came out to run tests and told me they would return a week later. Whatever adjustments were made actually made things worse. Humidity began spiking into the 60s and 70s. I reached out to Rey directly and was completely ignored. I genuinely feel bad leaving this review because the technicians were solid, and they are the only reason this company isn't getting an even lower rating. But the way this situation was handled at the ownership level was insulting, dismissive, and unacceptable.

My experiance dealing with Jose and his team during the installation was just as great. My condenser unit was on a small balcony on my 4th floor and the evaporator coil/air blower unit, Furnice were in the attic above the 4th floor. Jose was able to line up a crane and replace the old unit and install a new unit the same day as the qoute. The entire team was very professional and completed the work on time. My install was a week ago and everything has been working perfectly. My new unit is so quiet and I am noticing less humidity in the house as well. The guy who came out took over 3 hours to "Diagnose" the problem, but because he had taken way longer than it should have, he only charged us for two hours. Got an estimate that the unit needed a new heat kit and we accepted it. NOTE: Their estimates try to be general and I do not like a general estimate when the cost is over a thousand dollars. They came out and put in the 'heat kit' and the heat worked. The only problem was it would not shut off when it reached the correct temp on the thermostat. We called Northwind and told them of the problem and they sent someone out. This guy was similar to the other in that it took him 4 hours to diagnose the problem and each time he would tell us it was a problem, we would say, "But your guys fixed that." and his story as to what the problem was would change. We were told at least 4 different reasons this was not working. He finally settled on it was a valve on the roof and he had tested it with a magnet. The other problem was the guy would stand around and talk to employees the whole time he was here. Then he called a manager up to the front to tell her he was only going to charge for 2 hours. I was there and heard it and left her to sign. The next morning I get an invoice charging us 4 hours for sending out the village idiot. I immediately called Northwind and was put through to someone named Dale with an attitude. I explained the issue and he had said well you don't have to be upset and I told him I wasn't and was speaking in a normal tone and am just telling him the issue. He apologized and made a comment that he was just saying it because of others?!? Then he told me he was going to check into it and call me back. That was on 1/25, a week ago yesterday, and he still hasn't gotten around to it. I called another A/C company and they immediately found the problem. Whoever put in the heat kit or the person coming to 'diagnose' the overheating issue had burned out an entire circuit board. The actual problem was fixed when they reset the thermostat but now we have to buy a new board to be able to have heat in the front of the building. Northwind used to be good. Undoubtedly they are scraping the bottom of the hiring barrel now due to their growth. The people they are sending out now are incompetent, lazy, and slow. Oh, but they do continuously send you reminders that you have an estimate you haven't agreed to!!! You need to sign it so they can send another village idiot out. USE ANYONE ELSE

Pretty much a bunch of BS I called Efficient Polar Air they came out Saturday at 9PM said that the builder when the HVAC person installed the unit they didn't vacuum enough and if anything the expansion valve needed to be changed and vacuum to be done but couldn't confirm anything Nicks Pluming/AC was saying. They fixed the issue for there standard service call and if it keeps reoccuring the expansion valve and vacuum needs to be done. Do yourself a favor and if you have any AC issue call Efficient Polar Air!!! They saved me so much $$$$ by being honest and quick.

John came out to give a diagnosis, and he was extremely knowledgeable about my Daikin mini split four-port ductless hvac system. The tech from another company who installed it, should have brazed all 4 refrigerant lines to ensure that there wouldn't be any leaks or suggested I do so. The other company had a one month work warranty which I was informed is a red flag but honestly didn't want to get anymore work done by them after this tedious job and getting U0 error code after exactly 1 month. He showed me which units were leaking, but I decided to get all four units done to avoid issues in the future with the others. The diagnosis fee was waived due to getting the work done by the company. The price was affordable and on point. I can't say how grateful I am to them, because all of my saved up funds going towards the initial install with the other company.
