What a fabulous football Sunday surprise. Checked out the New Uptown Bar & Lounge for Football Sunday. Haven't been here since the closing and changes. What a great place for football. A little slow start as we were outside the door at 10 am but we were received with a welcome smile and great friendly service. Happy to find out they now have a food pop up ( Geezy's Backyard Barbecue) with breakfast burritos and barbecue lunch plate. See pictures and you will agree. So give Football Sunday a try. They also have happy hour during the week. I'll try that next. Vikings win

    Remodel completed. Looks much nicer.

Uptown is under new ownership. Bringing back live music with locals favorite bands. The Interrior has been classed up, it looks a more inviting. Best wings in town and even better cocktails.

This place was an EPIC good time SPORTS BAR! Dark but lit in the rifts places. People cheering for their teams and the good food being served! Big plus was the prices seemed reasonable! All in all the was a cool place to watch a game, play pool and party! The servers were also uptown quality with great personalities!

A pleasant place, with its own unique atmosphere, where you can relax and have a good time. I like the interior and the bar. It's cool that you can sing karaoke.

Cool dive bar with decent drink prices. The place is super loud, which I don't mind, it's a bar... they have karaoke... football on the TVs, etc. one of the cool things I noticed at the bar was their tap system, which fills beer glasses from the bottom of the glass, thus minimizing the foam... fun to watch.

They are open again and looking nice! Good late night food, especially since lots of places closed by 9pm for food. The front has some nice privacy with the metal - see pics. Didn't check the back but maybe next time! The interior was spacious and lots of tv screens so if your game is on, can root for your teams. This place seems like a good place to chill and have some drinks or three. We ordered the street dog, burger and fries, tri tip tacos and tri tip quesadillas, and classic uptown wings. The classic uptown wings tasted like franks buffalo sauce, which has a nice buttery flavor to the buffalo wings. The wings also came with celery and carrots. The ranch is on the slightly tangy side which I'm not a fan of, I prefer blue cheese. The burger was nice and delicious with a good amount of lettuce and tomatoes. The fries that come with the burger are the steak fries. The tri tip quesadilla and tacos are good. Maybe when COVID is over I'll come by to eat and drink here.

Wine Wednesday! A must try event serving high quality local wines

Uptown Lounge you really came through on my latest visit how could I not give you 5 stars! After coming here to check out Uptowns fairly new event "Wine Wednesday", It left me very impressed. Not only do you get to try high quality local wines but you also get to sample a variety of Uptowns delicious wood burning oven pizzas, and other appetizers. I only paid $10! Be sure to take advantage of their pre-pay option by visiting their website at http://www.sbuptownlounge.com/contact-us prior to your visit. Otherwise you will pay $15, but still a great deal for what is provided, either way you can't go wrong. If for some reason that doesn't work then I would call Uptown and ask for Natalie so she can hook you up! Thank you Natalie for your excellent customer service. Tip: Bring cash if you're paying at the door. It makes things much easier! This event happens every Wednesday from 5:30-8pm. I recommend getting here early to find a good parking spot and seating on the patio. On my visit (7.27.16) distributors were pouring wine from Broadside located in Paso Robles. Chardonnay, Margarita Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and Margarita Vineyard Merlot were all good! I've been to Uptown plenty of times with my co-workers after a long hard day at work and I can honestly say this place has been good to me! Food is great and I especially love the sweet potato fries. These are perfectly cooked and the best I have tried in town. Pizza is also delicious cooked in the wood burning oven. Tacos are great as well and they have a decent happy hour. Call ahead of time and reserve a spot if you have a big group. It's FREE! Viva La Fiesta Tip: In honor of Fiesta's on 8.3.16 instead of wine they will hold a tequila tasting. Overall this is the place to be if you want to stray away from the downtown area and looking for someplace to lounge around.

The cocktails are highly creative, diverse in flavor and design, and really could stand up to any you would find at a top cocktail bar in a major city. The exterior doesn't scream "must come in" but you absolutely should. Is it a tiki bar? Yes, but in the best way. And the bartender deserves applause for pulling off 3+ quite complex cocktails every 5 minutes off of memory and without any support.

In a stretch of Lower State packed with breweries, wine bars, and roaming weekend energy-drink humans in vintage bowling shirts, it threads the needle nicely between cocktail bar and tropical escape pod. The menu leans tiki-adjacent rather than deep-cut exotica, but the drinks are smartly built and avoid the "every problem can be solved with more rum" philosophy. There's a solid spread of spirits across the board, which makes the place feel more welcoming to a broader nightlife crowd instead of strictly rum disciples clutching vintage Trader Vic's mugs. The Oaxacan Dead was the standout for me. Smoky, balanced, endlessly sippable. One of those drinks where every sip quietly talks you into ordering another without turning into a sugar avalanche. The Jungle Bird was also great, though presented more in the direction of a Negroni than the punchier tropical versions you usually see. Bitter, restrained, and easy to settle into. Crowd-wise, things tilted a little frat-floaty as the night rolled on, but the staff handled everything smoothly and kept the vibe from turning into full pirate mutiny. Service stayed friendly and composed even when the volume of the room started climbing like a malfunctioning theremin. Big bonus points for the location and outdoor seating. Being right in the middle of Lower State makes it an easy launch point or final stop depending on your evening trajectory. Grab a drink, people-watch, drift between breweries and wine spots, repeat as necessary.

Though always skeptical of such consensus, unconsciously I bought into this for years. One day, a favorite bartender from another establishment wound up here. I started popping in early, more than a little wary, cautious to plan for an early departure. But slowly I got to know the other staff. The absolute nicest bunch of people in Santa Barbara. People I never went out of my way to befriend, who picked me out as a regular, showed me respect I never asked for, treated me with the utmost kindness even though I never did much to deserve it. Wildcat has become a place where I'm comfortable walking in, even on a busy Friday or Saturday night; and know I'll be valued, respected, and protected, even by people I barely know. And also served the absolute coldest draft beer in the city except for Lure which closes at 10. This sounds like an ad but I swear it's the damn truth. Be prepared to wait in line. Pearl social is such a whimsical fun spot to grab a drink and a snack in the funk zone. We stumbled in for a late afternoon drink and it wasn't very busy inside - giving off "best kept secret vibe". The decor is very feminine yet playful. Loved the design and bar area. We opted for a casual booth area by the bar which was really nice. Also all of the little things were done well, crisp menus, clean bathrooms, and music done at just the right sound level. Their menu in the bar area for food is small but mighty - oysters, cheese plates, you name it. I'm definitely going to keep coming here for the cocktails. I've had one of the best sips in 2025 here - which would be The Mixtape cocktail. My friend told me I had to get it and I'm so glad I listen sometimes lol. This cocktail completely blew me away. Passionfruit forward, it's silky, sweet yet very well balanced. One of the more unique and tasty cocktails I've had ever and honestly I'm not sure how I could come back and get anything else. 10/10 Cocktail and menu. Super impressed. Kudos to Mark who was working the bar. Such a lovely spirit and kind person. He really is passionate about his menu and the drinks he's curated. Loved talking to him as we got to know a lot more about Pearl social and how some of their drinks were concerted. Really appreciated his time and expertise.
