The Uptown Pub is located what I guess is Uptown? I'm still so new to Dallas I can honestly say I don't know poo about poo around these parts. However, I can say you would expect the Uptown Pub to be you know... uptownish? Meaning ritzy... fab, I don't know. But it's not. It's like a cool little dive that lost it's way. There were a couple small booths that I wanted to hide in, one right next to a Xmas tree that would have blinded me, so I opted for the front of the place, right by the window on a wobbly stool and table. The waitresses were friendly and polite. Helped me pick out my meal because I can't make a food decision to save my life. I got some chicken and fries and they were good. I love bleu cheese, theirs was standard. Nothing spectacular. It was time to go, the bill was paid, and I made my way out of the driveway. That's the other thing, Magellan tells you that you are there, but you don't know where there is, or the driveway. It's kinda scary. But now that I know, hey... it's all good. Next time one extra star if I get drunk and there's more than 3 people in the bar, but it was a weekday. read more

Perched on the corner of McKinney and Lemmon, you never leave Uptown Pub without a funny story. Entertainment is never a neglected element here, yet the bar remains pretty calm and chill -with awesome deals nonetheless! This little "dive" bar makes for a nice reprieve from the rest of uptown in the best possible way (by being a "dive" bar). I stopped here with a friend for a pint before an event down the street. Service was polite and quick. The patio was nice on a great unseasonably cool night. Unfortunately, even with the outdoor seating the smell of smoke was very strong. read more

Good dive located in the most unexpected of neighborhoods, which works out well if you want to breathe some fresh air. Big patio, woodsy pub feel inside and clean bathrooms. Pints of Guinness are always properly poured and the service has always been super friendly. Being the patio afficianado that I am, I have to say this is by far one of the best. Nothing like burning a sunday afternoon away while having some beers with friends. Definatley one of the Places I miss most about Dallas. Dog friendly patio was a cool touch. There's a lot of complaint about the smell in back which is true, but there's nowhere to hide it in what was probably once a house. Never had the food, but I can say the beer is pricier than some other places, but it's up town and it's going to cost you for the most part. read more

Well friends, I had a good laugh here today. Ordered a brisket hash and got a brisket burger with French fries and an egg. Not exactly what I expected but tasty nonetheless! Our server Arielle took great care of the 6 of us, despite having a full house and some complicated orders. Slow service, not going back, besides The LOON is right across street!

Too bad I can't leave zero stars for this dump. Awesome location, so much potential, but I will never set foot in this dump again. The food is nondescript bar food, which is not the basis for my complaint as the prices don't suggest the food would be anything else. The basis for my complaint is also the reason why we left $0 tip. That's only the second time in my life I have had service so rude and bad as to justify not only not leaving my customarily generous tip but earning no tip at all. The place had less than half a dozen people at the bar and only one other table in the restaurant besides us, yet the bartendress made it clear she was only interested in serving her friends that came in. Obviously everyone else in the bar knew her, and I can't see any other reason for going to this place a second time. We were neglected and ignored and when she did finally come back to us, my friend mentioned that we had waited a while and she gave him attitude and bristled like a cat ready to fight. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Here's hoping it finally fails and something good snaps up a great location and makes a good bar or restaurant. I'll drink to that, but not at Uptown Pub. Dive bars are cool, this is a dump dishing out nothing but rudeness. read more

Classic friendly neighborhood bar where you can get away from the typical uptown crowd. Food is served in big portions and is awesome! Drinks are cheap and the crowd is laid back. The average rating for this place as it is almost 4 stars in fact I might be a bit harsh at 3 stars but alas the Yelp rating format makes me take a stand. The Uptown is plain but not bad looking place. The building was the only one to survive the big build to make the West Village. This old house was once a a French restaurant but now holds a casual bar and grill. The inside is made of dark wood and overall has a plain jane feel. I have not been here late night but mid day and evening here seems pretty laid back. The best part of the place is the patio and that is where I spend most of my time when I come here. This place is less gentrified than most places around the area but is still far from a dive. The beer selection is moderate to good with some Texas beers like Rahr available. This is a good patio for one that faces a busy street. It has been a while but the last time I ate here the stuffed jalepanos were the hottest I have ever had. This 3 and 1/2 stars could use just a little more personality as being less gentrified doesn't give the place a unique vibe. I feel like I've been to too many places that are just like this in this town. Everything here is good but nothing strikes me as great. There are few 3 stars places I like better and I will very likely be back but there are so many excellent bars in this general area that by comparison 'good' is as high a praise I can give in context. The location is right on the Trolley line and a reasonable walk from the west exit of the City Place DART line that served the blue and red lines. read more

I love this little place. First, it's one of the only quaint little pubs in Uptown/West Village. Second, it's got a pretty decent happy hour and they pour the drinks strong. Good Patio Fun! Food is good, really good bar food, and they have salads plus salmon burgers. Karaoke. If you're looking for a good system, a great book (nothing printed, just ask the host - they have almost everything), an excellent sound system, and an honest rotation go to the Uptown Pub on Sunday afternoons from 4-7pm, or Wednesday nights from 9:30pm-12:30. The crowd is rowdy, respectful and supportive. Could be business people, industry workers, college students, and bachelorette parties (very diverse). Drinks are fairly priced and WELL POURED, service is good. (Food is actually AWESOME!) It does get crowded and occasionally loud. NOTE: not a dance place, but crowd that may randomly start dancing depending on the songs. Early arrival means short rotations, after 11pm Wednesday nights rotations can get lengthy. The only non-pretentious bar in Uptown area. Sunday afternoon karaoke is an institution. 5 STARS just for being a fantastic and fun karaoke bar. read more

There is no other way to put it this place has the best patio on Mckinney Ave! The patio is loaded with plenty of seating & if you can sit by the big fire place you are gauranteed to have a comfortable and entertaining time as you enjoy a draft beer and catch your favorite game on the flat screen tv that is mounted right above the fireplace! I suggest ordering the Uptown cheeseburger with tator tots, which by the way is so cool that this bar has tator tots! The atmosphere is casual and the patio is great for people watching. Huge outdoor patio with plenty of chairs and tables. This is pretty important because nothing is more annoying then having a table with some friends and then more show up and there are not enough chairs to go around, and you are forced to abandon your lovely reclining position. Drink prices aren't that cheap, but hey, its West Village in Uptown, so that is to be expected. People watching from the patio could easily become a favorite weekend pastime. read more

Poor service. Have to start with that. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and no one there, thought perfect, should get some good service, quick drinks and a good bite to eat after exploring Dallas. A lady walks out and doesn't even say hey guys, just says what do you want. We ask for a menu and she points and says they're right there. Didn't mind having to get up to grab them. We asked are there any specials or happy hour going on, and in her amazing kind way she says it's on the menu. Having not seen it yet, we ask where exactly. She slams down what she was doing, walks hard on this old creaky wood floors and points hard with her finger and says "SEE, Right there!" Couldn't believe the way we were being spoken to. As if we insulted her family or something. We ordered a quick beer and left right away. Would not recommend this place at all!!!! Run fast! Always on the search for a new pub to hang out at. There is just something about a pub that makes me feel at home and comfortable. Well not this one. I felt like I had broken into someone's house and then asked them to serve me. I believe "what can I get you", delivered with an attitude like I had just kicked her dog, was the only conversation we had with the waitress. After waiting 10 minutes to get recognized. With that said, the patio did look very cool and the location is great. They have a very small parking lot in back, but other then that I am not sure where you would park if that was your only destination. I guess you can park down the street and walk. read more

Uptown Pub is full of character in an otherwise Ed Hardy location. With a large outside patio area, this place was the first second home I found in West Village. The Staff - Amazing staff that are extremely prompt. The Staff rating is 5 stars no doubt. The building - This is where they lose stars unfortunately. The building is awesome. A house in the middle of West Village. Great Patio and wood walled interior. Negative - The bar unfortunately has either a sewage problem or is downwind of a bunch of douchebags spraying cologne all over themselves for a night of fist pumping. Seriously, it does have an issue with sewage smell. (most relevant on a steamy summer night) Second negative: There is only one stalled bathrooms for men and women. After "breaking the seal" you will more than likely find yourself waiting 10 minutes in line for the toilet. (A hearty feat for the ever expanding hops and yeast in your stomach) Speaking of the men's bathroom; there is a weird knocking on a second door in the bathroom which leads me to believe two things. One - There is a midget trapped in the wall trying to get out or two, someone has mistaken the bathroom with heaven. ("Knock, Knock, Knocking on heaven's door") Uptown pub has lots of pros. Terrible! Had one beer and made my boyfriend take me somewhere else because the place was dirty and smelled like mothballs.
