It was a beautiful afternoon and work happy hour was on! My request was just for a patio to enjoy the weather so we ended up here. The service was SLOW, and by slow I do mean at a glacial pace. Drinks were empty and we were hunting down our server, any server. She later came by to boast that she was out server and bartender and that there were only two people working. I mean, I'm unimpressed because who doesn't have access to the weather channel, a weather app on the phone, etc? They should have known that the weather was going to be super nice and be prepared. I didn't make it in but the inside seemed small (and empty on a nice night out). There were also only about 15 (max) tables outside so...still apathetic to the slowness. Uptown Pube... i mean Pub... A group of my friends came here late night for drinks... The bar was pretty empty, dark, and dead... I went here with the Yelp deal and sat out on the patio. I had the turkey burger and the BF had queso/chips and a hamburger. The service was good, I never felt ignored and the waitress was there and attentive when we needed her. The turkey burger was pretty darn good and the side salad that came with it was average but not bad. the bathroom wasn't the greatest but the restaurant used to be an old house that had avoided the west village development so it's to be expected that the doors creak a little and that the inside has "character". I will probably return. I went there for lunch but I've also heard that it is a good place for drinks during a game or on the weekends. read more

Ive never had food here, always just drinks. I love this bar. The atmosphere is laid back. I can go in a t-shirt and jeans and not feel as if I have to be uptown decked out. Its also nice that they allow dogs on their patio. Its located right on the corner of Lemmon and McKinney so its great for people watching. The patio is nice, but everything else? Not so much. The night I went, there were only two girls working the bar and every table in the place. Needless to say, it took about thirty minutes just to get drinks and another twenty before we got our order taken. When our order did come, it was cold (from sitting out, most likely) but would've been alright, had it been warm. Amongst all the flashiness of West Village and its brand new condos, lies a diamond in the rough... Uptown Pub. I've literally driven past this place hundreds of times and thought "which one of these doesn't belong" and finally found myself there on a Friday night and really enjoyed myself. I agree with others... the patio is its selling point. This particular Friday night, they had live music playing and you could tell the crowd a group of regulars, not your usual Uptown/West Village crowd. Inside, the place had plenty of spots to make new friends and intimate booths for a little privacy. Great selection of beer. I won't be driving past this place wondering why it was there... Went to Uptown Pub today for lunch for the first time and had great service! Lilly, the bartender, is amazing! I feel like bar/pub food can be hit or miss, but the quesadillas were honestly great. My husband goes to Uptown Pub for burgers every time he's in the area and it was finally my turn to get to try one today. The burgers are first rate. I had a bacon cheesburger and it was huge. Really fresh. Lots of places are serving condiments on the side now and I was so relieved to get my burger with a health dose of mayo already on the bun. It was so good and so filling, I couldn't finish the whole thing. Not sure, but I think the meat may be organic (it seems to me organic meat is denser and more filling). It might have just been because it was so big. The fries are good, salted and peppered, which I thought was kind of cool. They're not the best fries I've ever had but I've got to say the burger is right up there. Their version of medium is perfect - still a little pink in the center but most certainly cooked. The place itself is awesome. We were guessing at the age of the building and we are thinking it may be turn of the century (1900, give or take 10 or 15 years either way). The floors look original and the planking on the walls is fantastic - wide planks running horizontally. Absolutely love the authenticity and spirit of the place. We moved out onto the patio after eating and despite the record heat, it was comfortable with misters and a fan going. The view of the Dallas skyline is awesome. Just absolutely loved this place. Great place to stop in and have lunch and I bet it's a killer evening spot. It has a fireplace on the patio that looks like it would really give a romantic ambience when the weather is cool enough for them to start a fire in it. The bartender poured a perfect Guiness. Okay, now that THAT's out of the way. I love the location and the divey atmosphere, but the crowd seemed pretty young, like just turned 21. So if you are 21 or a weird older guy that preys on young girls...by all means. So I wasn't offered a drink menu, and since my thing is sorta fun cocktails...well, none were offered to me. I really want to love this place, the location is great, there is a lot of seating, and i actually enjoy the food (and the prices, oh yeah!).... but the atmosphere just kills it for me. Imagine a college bar, with young, barely-legal kids getting drunk by the early afternoon, losing control of their voice whereby they are shouting to each other inside the bar, acting stupid and drunk, and including significant amount of PDA. That's the mood around 5 pm on saturday! and it's not only them, even the older people (i mean 30s) are acting drunk and being loud and obnoxious... not my cup of tea, although i may be called an old grouch for this, but seriously, leave that shit in college or a house party... At least don't insult my ear drums by shouting stupid conversations to each other, i would really rather save my brain cells from committing suicide at the banality of the topics and discussions... That all said, the food is great! The blue cheese burger is really good, the fries are very well flavored. I also had the fried mozarella sticks, which were good, just your general pub fare. The food is cheap, and so is the beer, i guess that is why this place attracts college-age kids. will i be back? maybe, but i will be checking out the crowd before i sit down, that's for sure, maybe weekdays may be best, or around exam time for colleges, as I wouldn't have to deal with the kids. just sayin'.. read more

GROSS. I visited this Pub with a friend during the lunch hours. When we walked in it smelled like vomit and the back of an ear lobe. The manager/waitress/ bartender has to be the rudest person I've ever encountered in any official capacity of customer service. I had a patty melt and it was pretty good, however the atmosphere and the rude waitress here is more than enough reasons to skip this place. Love this place. It's an old house turned into a bar. Very cozy. We usually go for happy hour after work and the prices are extremely cheap for Uptown. The food is amazing and again...the prices are wonderful. The brisket nachos have a very smokey flavor and totally rock. The loaded tater tots are perfectly crispy and delicious. There is usually only one girl running the bar and doubling as a waitress but she takes great care of us so we don't complain. Love it. Will be back often. read more

I like this Uptown pub because it's a comfortable and reliable place to go. I mean that when you have exhausted your choices of the new places to go and seek out that over priced bar and lounge, you can always come back to Uptown pub and just relax. Get some good food and some tasty drinks. Sit on the patio and people watch. There are a ton of them that walk around this place all the time. It's damn near sits in the best place in uptown. Around the corner is the Loon, many restaurants, a movie theater, books, banks hair salons and places to live. Come in and get a drink. Say hi to Travis behind the bar. As soon as we walked in, I immediately wanted to leave. This place smells like rigor mortis. I'm convinced there's a corpse hidden under the creaky/dirty wooden floors. One of my favorite places to get bar food. The brisket nachos is a must try. Tons of meat in the BBQ sandwiches. One downside is the inside did not have proper air circulation inside. This place is like being transported back in time and space to some old timey neighborhood pub in some small town. The floors are uneven. So are the tables. The couches are slouchy. The 2-Top private booths look like they came out of an old Noel Coward movie. There are piles of shitty board games stacked in the corner. The pours are generous. The staff is really cool. The patio, where leashed pets are welcome, is totally shaded from the sun during summertime evenings. This feels like home. Very relaxing. Very, very chill. I will be back. read more

This bar was just ok. The place itself is an old house with a sloping floor. If you stand in the right place you will feel unbalanced and I'm sure after a few the effect is worse. They have a full bar and local beers are available at prices a little higher than you would find elsewhere ($3 Lonestar). I figure this is because the bar is located in Uptown Dallas and they expect patrons to pay a bit more. They have a juke box that will play everything from Little Wayne to Nine Inch Nails. Friday night they have live music that starts at 10pm. On the night we visited there was a girl with a guitar singing "You Gotta Kiss the Boy" from the Little Mermaid.
