I love this restaurant. It's my number one place for bomb hummus and lamb. Their lamb over rice plate is to die for. I've never gotten anything else because I've completely fallen in love with it. The meat is so tender and well seasoned, and the tomatoes really add a lot of flavor to the dish. The rice too is amazing. It's honestly hard for me to put into words how good this dish tastes. They used to sell the lamb over rice with hummus and salad, but they've since revamped the menu and made the hummus into its own dish (hummus plate). I quite like the new menu though because now I can get even more by ordering them separately. Portions are humongaaa so I just save half for the next day. The space is not really that nice to sit in, so I'd recommend calling ahead and picking it up. If you do dine in, don't go with a large group and don't expect any frills. read more

We have been past here many times and had not tried their food yet. We finally stepped in for lunch. We got there just as they opened so we got to order fast. Very friendly folks here, I am pretty sure this is a family owned restaurant which is very cool. The price point is really good here for what you get. Place is very clean so kudos. The food pretty good the chicken shawarma had good flavor along with the rice. The falafel had a nice crispy outside and was very flavorful. We ordered the humus also but it needed something it was very plain. Good and creamy but needed some flavor so I added hot sauce. We enjoyed stopping in here and I think the real win is the bang for the buck for good food. read more

UR Mediterranean is a bit of a hole in the wall type restaurant in downtown Beaverton. The storefront is unsuspecting. We went for lunch on a Saturday and only one other group came in. Parking in that area typically isn't great but fortunately it was a Saturday where the farmers' market was not in progress otherwise parking would've been a challenge. There aren't really any parking lots in this area so be prepared to find street parking and walk a couple blocks. That said - the food was great. I had a gyro rice plate. All of the food had a great flavor and it was very filling. I'd come back. 4 stars. read more

I saw the reviews were mixed, but we were hungry and wanted something nearby. The quantity of food was fine, but the quality was quite inferior. We had the mezza, but except for the salad, it was tasteless. Maybe it is dependent on who is cooking that day, but I would not recommend this restaurant. My experience is simply based on my first experience and taste....Really was hoping for more flavor and quality but got burnt flavorless ground beef/lamb kabob and underwhelming rice with no garlic sauce or humus option with plate order? Pricing was a bit high but apparently it's been this way for over six years but find myself wondering are the stickers stamped over the original pricing subject to truth and transparency or dishonesty....Hmmmm? I get the 5-star ratings people have given for the food, it's really good. The service was exceedingly friendly, but slow and we were pretty much ignored for the first five minutes while they finished up chores in the kitchen. Checked out the specials on the board in front of the cash register -- mmm, lamb shanks. Sorry, they just started cooking them, not ready until dinner. Well, for chrissakes, take it off the board then. They have a great menu up on the wall (see photo), much more extensive than the other middle Eastern places I've been too. I had the lamb over salad. Generous portion of grilled meat, tender and flavorful. Wonderful little salad, great little pond of hummus. Others had the chicken shwarma sandwich (huge), the sampler plate (great pita bread), and chicken over rice (came with great side salad, etc.) There were 4 of us, and our food came out staggered over a 5-minute period. Always embarrassing to have to start eating your food while it's still warm your companions stare hungrily at you. It was a cold rainy day, and we were a little chilled when we sat down. There was a huge fan over in the corner by the door blasting us with gale force winds. Brrrr. A couple of other customers came in while we were there, good thing it never got crowded as there's like 3 tables. The two guys behind the counter were very friendly when bringing out our food. How can food be this good and not world famous. Sooooo good. Every bite was perfection. We had feta and olives, hummus plate, chicken schwarma, lamb shanks, lamb gyro over rice, chicken kabobs, lamb and beef kabobs. The pita was the softest and fluffiest. I have been coming to UR Mediterranean for several years and have moved out of the area recently. I went back this past week and discovered there are new owners. Before I new that I ordered what I thought was the all time great Falafel plate with rice that kept me coming back time and again. Much to my dismay, they changed there recipe. Not the same flavor and texture. I also ordered a side of pita bread. When my dish came no pita bread. I told the cook he forgot my pita bread and he said "My bad" I will get it for you. I was totally ignored and never got my pita bread. That was rude and horrendous customer service. What was my favorite Mediterranean restaurant is no more. Sad to see this place go down hill . Have to search for Falafel some where else. read more

Beaverton's hidden gem! Absolutely amazing food. We don't know how we didn't find this place sooner but we will be back. Tied for 1st place is the Mezza plate and lamb shank. The falafels are by far The Best falafels I've ever tasted. Crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth delicious. The lamb shank is also amazing. Tender and juicy with a crispy outside and had no gamey flavor that other lamb dishes have. It's Served with a bowl of broth that I could drink. Honestly there wasn't anything we with disliked. Did I mention the Dolmas. Perfectly seasoned and lemony. Service and the chef was great. He Came over 2-3 times to talk with us and make sure everything was tasting good. I highly recommend trying this little whole in the wall piece of Lebanese paradise. Unfortunately this restaurant has changed owners and chefs. Food was horrible. It's now the Kabob Grill. The famous donut falafels are gone and the Lamb shank was tough. I really want Chef Halal back. Will someone please tell me if he is cooking somewhere else. I have eaten the gyros at this restaurant before, and pretty darn good. My only complaint is the new pricing. There is no update of pricing anywhere, so when you get to the counter to find out your gyro, two baklavas, and one can of soda=25$ That is more than an entire plate of food at other places. So, I'm afraid you lost a customer. I don't like being blindsided by price gauging. 15$ for the gyro alone? It's good, but it's not that good. The older woman I see there always smiles. The son or whomever is at the register could lighten up a bit. Make guests feel welcome at least, before you present them with an over priced meal. :) read more

I was craving a gyro so decided to pop in this little restaurant in the middle of downtown Beaverton. This gyro was HUGE. It was loaded with perfectly seasoned lamb, fresh veggies and creamy tzatziki sauce. I was in love with the fresh pita, I could eat it for days!! Will definitely be coming back. read more

We are SO excited to stumble across this gem in Beaverton! We were looking for just a snack but had some of the best food we've had since moving to the area! We got the hummus plate and chicken Shawarma sandwich and everything was EXCELLENT! Great flavor, amazing red sauce (not sure what it is but we got some to go it's so amazing), perfectly seasoned chicken, hummus and pita to die for. Can't wait to go back. Highly recommend. Came here with my girlfriend after being around the area on a Sunday afternoon. They had a nice big TV with a football game playing on, a big bonus. The menu was simple and not overwhelming. I ordered the falafel plate over rice and my girlfriend ordered the chicken shawarma over rice. On both plates, the rice was seasoned nicely and was yellow, which is something that I was looking forward to surprisingly. I really enjoy falafels, and here was no exception. They fried them nicely, and had a nice texture and temperature in the middle. The chicken was also tender and seasoned well. Falafel salad ($8) exceeded expectations. Might have been a little heavy on the dressing but it was so delicious I didn't really mind. The salad had shredded lettuce, ample red onions, and kalamata olives. It came with hearty serving of 5 decently-sized falafel balls that were cooked perfect and had exceptional flavor. It's a very casual, unpretentious place that provides great food. I look forward to coming back and trying their lamb. Only downsides I noted were the staff were not overtly friendly, but mostly kind of meh. I didn't see water available, but there was a fridge full of bottled water and other sodas and things for purchase. Everything came on disposable plates with plastic cutlery. I love this place! I was really craving mediterranean food and found this place so close by to me. I ordered the lamb & beef kabob over rice dish and oh my gosh-- the portions were great! My craving never went away because the food was so good! When I ordered again I added the hummus plate and WOW the portions on the hummus was such a huge amount that I wanted to order more bread. For the most part they're pretty fast at completing orders. I call in for pick-up and immediately leave my place. After a 10-15min walk over and my order is already sitting on the counter! I find that before noon they're a bit busy so when I do call in, it has always been between 12:30pm and 1:30pm. read more

I often only like the first bite of Greek food, as most places that people recommend I try simply are no bueno. But this place pleased me in almost every way except for the dolmas. I ordered the chicken over rice assuming it might be something like chicken shawarma. It wasn't exactly, but it pleased just the same. I ate in the hotel since this place is pretty dinky in terms of seating and because I ordered probably 20 minutes before they were closing (but still had all smiles), but I was still happy as a clam. The rice was good--flavorful without being too Lipton-like like other places; in all honesty, I'm pretty sure it was laced with pounds of butter (5-stars). The chicken was tasty, almost indulgent (4.5 stars), especially with the creamy tzatziki (5-stars), or even a dash of the hummus, which itself was pretty darn good and seemed truly homemade (but 4 stars because I like Tribe hummus). The side salad was a nice touch and pretty tasty itself, nice and acidic. I also ordered one dolmas (dolma?) for good measure, but actually thought that was a solid 1 star item. ICK! The leaves seemed to be falling apart a bit as if they were cooked too long; the stuff inside didn't taste very good--too dry; and it just didn't taste like any dolmas I've ever had, missing that signature acidity. Bottom line: Dolmas aside, you get your buck's worth at this place in terms of flavor and portion and smiley service, and the ambiance if you stick around inside is equivalent with what you might expect from a place that has a picture menu on the wall. Depends upon who's working. I'm guessing this is a family operation, there is an older couple, with the gentleman alternating with a younger man. If the older couple are on duty, it's great, 5 stars, delicious food, large portions, a real favorite. But if the younger guy is "working," it is not a pleasant experience. He seems unhappy to be there, has never cracked anything like a smile or pleasantry, and after taking my recent order, sat down with his foot on the customer seating bench(!) twiddling with his bloody phone. Yuck. Foot on customer seating. From now on, if he's working, I'm giving it a pass. The older couple, especially the woman, are very pleasant and I wish I could give the place a higher rating. read more
