really greasy. I was not expecting much from the flavor since I went mild but there was no flavor at all, just grease. To make it worse, the place was extremely dirty and the staff could really care less. To spice things up a bit, they were playing two different types of music. The usual store music, then the staff blared music from the kitchen trying to drown out the store music. I could really care less if the kitchen plays music but it should not compromise the atmosphere set by the actual store.

I don't know what kind of sorcery they're running in that kitchen, but my food appeared in 4 minutes like it teleported. The chicken tenders were built like NFL linemen, the fries were drowning in mac & cheese like they just got served custody papers, and the waffles were fluffier than a baby alpaca living its best life.

I had been looking to come to this restaurant for several months because of its unique menu. I ordered the urban fries seasoned mild. These have a french fry base with white mac and cheese, the urban bird topped with their sauce. To be honest with that blend of ingredients, I didn't expect it to be bland. The service was friendly and the restaurant was extremely clean.

Update: I went back and they forgot my friends ice cream despite us asking twice. They also gave us incorrect information about what comes with one of the dishes. The ended up giving us a full refund because the ice cream machine was down The food was still really good though!

If you're looking for spicy chicken that'll last past the restaurant trend of everything being "hot chicken," this is a place to put on your list. I got the tenders sando at Nashville Hot with sweet potato fries and had a great time. Plenty of seating, the space was generally clean (although our table was sticky when we sat down), and it was a packed night so I understand service can be a bit backed up.

MEH. Cookshack is Far Superior. Ridiculously unimpressed. Ordered simple Nashville hot chicken tender sandwich combo "for here" 20+ mins later a bag Togo is dropped on my table. Sandwich is cold. Fries were great. Lemonade always solid. But wow. When Cookshack and others exist, I will not return to another Urban Bird. Came after 1 pm. Not a lunch rush. Just not great.

If you're looking for a chicken place where everything is good this is a place. The fried Chicken comes in original spicy and then like super spicy hot. All of the flavors are excellent. The waffles are amazing they remind me of Roscoe's Chicken and waffles in Los Angeles California. Can't beat it soft fluffy light everything you want waffle to be. The mac and cheese is amazing smothered over the super seasoned fries oh my God I love my fries seasoned please don't give me playing potatoes. The drinks are delicious they have a mango lemonade, a blueberry lemonade, just some really different flavors and drinks that are amazing. Oh did I mention the shakes the caramel shake is absolutely to die for please do not not order it. So normally I can't finish my food and my drink or dessert but guess what at this place I can. LOL don't miss out support this place support your belly it will support you back LOL it will thank you. LOL

Took my family here to eat. Hands down the best chicken spot. Chick Fil-A has been dethroned. The chicken was high quality, juice, and perfectly seasoned. We sampled the first 5 levels (skipped the hottest). I love spicy and thought that the "Beautiful Burn" was the perfect level of spiciness and heat. The Hot Honey is a must try condiment. The Texas Toast was great and the pickles where fresh and crisp. The Lemonades are also bomb. I personally went with the blueberry lemonade and loved it. Great staff and service. The place was clean. Definitely a must try. I'll certainly be back. read more

So my brother found out about this place & I decided to give it a try ! This is a chill spot if you want something simple and good. & I don't mean Simple in a bad way. Shoutout to Zee her customer service was amazing ! Which is a plus in my book, that's how you get me to return. The food was great .. didn't see anything I would question on my visit. Finally! GOOD hot chicken has arrived in Houston! Oddly, Houston was late to the hot chicken scene- I mean, I can remember searching near and far for hot chicken in 2019 and it was virtually impossible to find! I'd have to wait until I was back in LA for Howlin' Rays or Nash for Hattie Bs just to get my fix. But since the pandemic, many hot chicken restaurants have opened in the city and are competing to be the best (including Daves from Cali) And let me tell you, Urban Bird is definitely in the running with their fully loaded Urban fries and salted caramel ice cream shake alone! I haven't even tried the sandwich yet! This is a clean, new restaurant in Spring with a nice menu selection. Ordering was quick and easy. The cashier was very nice and helpful with suggestions as a first timer. I went in there for a sandwich, but ended up with Urban Fries bc I absolutely love loaded fries. I usually have to create my own when I'm out here, so I was excited to see it offered on their menu. I Just had to try them! I got the half order urban fries in Hella Hot and OMG it was soooo good! Everything was piping hot and fresh tasting! It's crinkle cut fries with Cajun seasoning topped with macaroni and cheese, one large chopped white meat chicken tender, pickles, and sauce. The fries were perfectly cooked and so was the chicken. It was juicy yet crispy and actually hella hot! But like the perfect amount of enjoyable heat for heat lovers. The sweet pickles helped balance everything out. Even the macaroni and cheese on the fries was good, but not sure how it would taste alone. Basically this is a very filling meal that will satisfy your salty, spicy, sweet, and savory, thick cravings all at once! Get the Urban Fries.... and a shake! The salted caramel shake was super smooth, creamy, and delicious. I thought it was going to be too sweet or overpowering with salt when I saw her making it, but it wasn't. She took a long time to make it - with love I assume - and It was perfect! Prices were reasonable compared to other hot chicken restaurants. Next time I will try the sandwich to get a full experience and hopefully I won't feel the need to travel to Howlin' Rays for a great hot chicken sandwich! read more

Really awesome food! We've been here 4 times total and every time the food is delicious! We got the mild strips, our son got the "hella hot" and "beautiful burn". Both were deliciously hot and flavorful. Most chicken spots offer the burn but lack flavor. Not this place. read more

My first visit I sat next to the glass where you can see the cooks making the food. I watched an employee sneeze, cough and wipe his nose with his hand several times while preparing sandwiches for customers. Didn't have gloves on. My 2nd visit I got it to go (I didn't even want to look back there because the food isnt bad). But sure enough there was another customer complaining about the cooks not wearing gloves and wiping their noses while preparing the food and not washing their hands. The food isn't bad, took forever both times. Hate how they charge .50 for pickles. I doubt I come back. read more

Sucks. Chicken Sando with room temperature chicken tenders. Fries hard and not even warm. I asked for new fries and never got them. Dirty tables but to their credit, a lady came over and cleaned it. Service extremely slow but I wouldn't care if the food was good. read more

I'm a huge chicken sandwich lover and when i saw this place pop up on the suggestions i knew i had to give it a try, i was greeted by the Manager himself and felt super welcomed, the food is a 10 out of 10 and must try again! The manager Omar definitely runs the place well and keeps a tight shift and a super clean/friendly environment. Overall a great place to get hot chicken. The chicken and fries are great, I did the Nashville Hot "Beautiful Burn" spice. It had some flavor and kick but not super hot ... nothing you would regret later ;) The service was pretty quick and the location has a modern but relaxed feel. Clean establishment, not noisy, indoor and outdoor seating. 4 stars instead of 5 because the chicken is placed on top of the bread and the oil from chicken/fryer makes it soggy. Which is a bummer because the bread has good flavors. read more

The tenders were so big and had the perfect crunch. The fries were seasoned to perfection & the pickles were the cherry on top. I got the Nashville hot tenders & they were SO GOOD. I love Urban Bird, but not this location. 3rd straight visit where my Tendos sandwich has been bad. Spice level is wrong, very little sauce and they literally pieced it together with tender pieces. Quality control is not a strength. Employees were friendly and fries were good so they earn a 2 star. If you need Urban bird, head down to Highway 6 that one is better. If you live north, just hit Coops on 1488. read more

Food is great! But the bad review is for the place itself have come here several times already and not once has this place been clean every single time everything has been dirty from the moment you walk in you'd expect a clean restaurant but no it's pretty disgusting going in there and knowing you can't eat on a clean table and booth/chairs. For the money this place makes they should be able to replace the torn booths and keep it tip top clean. read more

We went to Texas for the Ironman... we're from AZ. We found this spot. I had six kids with me, which is tough to find a place in which everyone can agree. This was by far the best food we had on our trip... all the kids agreed. We had the chicken tenders and waffles. Super good. read more

Tried it out on opening day and it was very yummy! Our favorites are the loaded fries! Omg Good!!! We tried the Tijuana Street fries and the Nashville Hot fries. Ready to go back to get more fries!!! My wife and I came here after randomly spotting it visiting a nearby shop. We generally love hot chicken, whether Nashville style or not. In terms of flavor, I thought it was fine, it wasn't over the top, but at the same time didn't wow me either. We both ordered the chicken sandwiches. I ordered one at the second highest spice level. My wife ordered at the medium level. Spice levels were fine. Wasn't too spicy, probably could've done the spiciest. I would've preferred the chicken to be one whole piece for sandwiches versus two tenders in a sandwich, but that is just personal preference. In summary, I wasn't blown away, but it wasn't bad either. I could see myself visiting this place again because it is nearby our house. That said, if you want more variety, you should definitely check out tumble 22, which is a bit of a drive depending where you live, but has more options + more complex flavors. read more

Customer service was excellent the entire time and they will even come to your table and take your plate away as if they are full service, which they aren't . I also ordered a slice of coconut cream pie, or at least that's what they said it was. It had no cream in it and appeared to be a coconut custard pie not that different than the one I make at home. It was delicious as well.

The noise level was moderate throughout our stay such that one could easily carry on a conversation with table mates without having to scream. Almost all patrons were nicely dressed. Since this is a Michelin acknowledged restaurant two years in a row, we were expecting uniqueness and we were not disappointed. That said, food was very good, but I would not rate it as spectacular. The blue fin tuna tostados were delightful and hands down the best dish we had. Ceviche mixto was excellent with a just a hint of heat. I would order these two appetizer dishes again. Main courses consisted of duck 2 ways, redfish with green mole and risotto, spring cavatelli, and grilled shrimp & pork belly. All were delicious and uniquely tasty with the exception of the duck. Mind you, I really like duck and the sliced portions were excellent and perfectly seasoned and moist, but the pate-like accompaniment was not that good, plus the mole sauce was not what I was expecting. Table sides of Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower were good but nothing special. The Eton Mess with strawberries was simply delicious. Would I go back? Maybe, but not anytime soon.
