Urban Fresh is AMAZING, and might be the only place we can eat in this entire city. Seriously. You see, our family has a bevy of food allergies and sensitivities, not to mention preferences. In addition, I'm a health coach and I can't stand visiting a restaurant that claims to be clean only to feel like absolute crap when I get home, proving that they were using something that was not great. That has truly NEVER happened here -- I always feel fantastic after eating at Urban Fresh. I've tried so many things -- smoothies, juices, pastries, daily specials. I loved the raw pizza although it has recently left the menu. As a substitute last week, I tried the Raw Veggie Tart which was wonderful, and soothed my sadness about the pizza being gone. The scones are always great, no matter the flavor or ingredients of the day. The owners are friendly, and the staff is very patient when I inquire into the specific ingredients of any item, since we always need to know exactly what is in what we are eating. Love this place. Today I had the daily special, the crunchy black bean wrap. So flavorful! Just a bit spicy and very moist. Along side we had kale chips that were crunchy and so flavorful. They are dehydrated so all the nutrients are preserved. For a beverage we had hibiscus spiced lemonade that was not to sweet or too spicy. Just delicious. The only thing I don't like about this place is that it's only open on weekdays until 2, because I would definitely go there on weekends as well. I absolutely love their food and smoothies, location, and service that is always very friendly and accommodating. The last time I visited Urban Fresh was yesterday when my wife and I ordered lunch special (tofu pepperoni sandwich + pasta salad + 2 slices of watermelon), Green Goddess wrap (I asked them to wrap it in collard greens and they did!), and a cup of soup. Everything was super delicious but the Green Goddess wrap was truly divine. It's so fresh, yummy, and satisfying, OMG. Tbh, I can't stop thinking about it, I want to eat it again. The soup (curry-like soup with lentils, quinoa, and potatoes) also tasted heavenly. I would definitely eat those two every day, they are soooo freaking good. My wife wasn't super crazy about her tofu sandwich but still said it was very good. Next time though she would also order the Green Goddess wrapped in a collard green :) It's just one of the best meals I've ever had. Seriously. This place is delicious not to mention probably the cheapest Vegan food in town. They are currently conducting business through a slinging glass window which works great during COVID. My food took less than 10 minutes and was delicious and healthy. The customer service was fantastic and they had a sign describing all the specials they were offering. The food here is SO GOOD and it's really great the whole restaurant is vegan so you can order without worry. It's also very celiac safe as they are very conscious of what has gluten and what doesn't, and you don't have to worry about cross contamination. This is home style vegan cooking at its finest! And very healthy too. My only complaint is the hours. Unless you work downtown or live nearby it's really hard to get there during business hours (lunch only). I wish they were open for dinner at least once or twice a week. I love this place so much and rarely get to go as I work way up in the east foothills. read more

Service was excellent! The owner suggested a smoothie that I would have otherwise never tried & I loved it so much!! It was the smoothie with dates and ginger and it's my favorite smoothie now! I had the salad with rice noodles and the mint in it made it SO yummy!!! The flavors in everything is heavenly!! I also tried the energy balls and was super yummy with cacao! I really, really enjoyed my visit to Urban Fresh recently. I've been downtown so many times, but had never noticed Urban Fresh (or honestly, any of the other restaurants in the immediate area around them), so I was pleasantly surprised to walk up and see such a cute outdoor patio area. When I walked in, I was warmly greeted and ordered a smoothie (got the Funky Monkey and it was delicious, I'd never had maca before)! The service was super quick and they even gave me a complimentary larger size. The smoothie was super filling and would make a great meal replacement, if you're on the go. I've been to this location twice and loved both experiences. The first time my friend and I came here and we both got smoothies and the pad Thai wrap. First, my husband and I are not vegan. BUT, we are are on a weight loss commitment which means we are trying to eat healthfully. After a long drive to the southern part of the state we headed home. Yelp told us one of the best restaurants in Tucson was Urban Fresh, which is Vegan and I was enthralled with the food. I'm here to tell you I had the most amazing, best-est salad of my lifetime here. It is apparently a new addition called the "Power Slaw Salad." It contained quinoa, kale, cabbage broccoli, almonds, sweet potatoes, cranberries, apple and the BEST dressing of all time, cashew dressing. I'm not a foodie I guess, because I've never heard of cashew dressing. How in the world did that goodness come from cashews? Well, the chef came out to talk with us because I asked how it was made. She was very sweet and accommodating. The portion was huge and I ended up sharing the last third with my husband. I didn't want to leave a morsel behind. I also enjoyed a bowl of Italian Zuppa loaded with garbanzo beans and a very tasty broth. I could not finish it, but luckily my husband did. It was perfect for a chilly Arizona day. The staff were very friendly too. Everyone was easy going and I was able to relax in the cozy environment. We were checked on a couple of times and chatted with our server. He was very sweet. I am very pleased by the experience overall. Alas, it was not the low calorie lunch we had imagined as cashews pack a wallop of calories, but I feel we ate healthfully and I have plenty of calories left for a light dinner. Hands down, the BEST vegan restaurant in all of Tucson. My daughter, who is vegan, researched this restaurant and had been dying to try it since she had read its reviews. Delightful little gem of raw and vegan food off the main drag in the struggling trying to be up-and-coming downtown Tucson. I am not a local so I am not sure of the reasons for the very hit-or-miss Vibe of the area but it is worth leaving the main Street hipster bar crawl and venting a couple of blocks down the back street to get the Green Goddess wrap or the steller mushroom burger. We were very impressed with the quality in the freshness of the food. The people are clearly dedicated and very kind. If you like raw, organic or plant-based cuisine, Urban Fresh is perfect. You'll find everything that you're looking for and a few things that will surprise and delight you: Fresh juices and smoothies, delicious wraps and sandwiches and sides that aren't fried. If you need a visual aid just look up on the TV screen to see pictures of all of their menu items. I immediately wanted to order the slideshow on Netflix. At any rate, their every day menu is all fresh and unprocessed just as their website promises. And now for the spectacular... Ask the chef - who must be the owner given the passion that he exhibits for his food and the level of attention that he provides you with from the moment you walk through the door - this guy is nothing short of awesome - ask him what's NOT on the menu. We were offered a raw burger - the likes of which I have never seen before or since - with a raw, house-made ketchup and house-made pickle on the side. I've tried 5-6 dishes here and they were all so flavorful and truly healthy. It is definitely on the more expensive side, but if you get a water it can be an under $10 lunch. They also have some CBD drinks that I really enjoyed with a smoothie for breakfast when I wasn't feeling well. A cup of the soup of the day/chili are my favorite for a light lunch. read more
