I'm from out of town. I live in the North Bay in California where a lot of the hot vegan food joints are in SF, Berkeley, and Oakland. Some of them are pretty good even for someone celiac and vegan like me, but urban fresh here is exceptional! I really enjoyed my food. A favorite from far away. I got a daily special noodle bowl, raw pizza, smoothies. Everything was tasty, fresh, and made me feel great, which doesn't happen always for me being a celiac and having food sensitivities. I wish I could come back more often it's definitely wonderful food and the driver who delivered was very nice. The only thing I will mention to improve is awareness around the "go green" they have a go green option you can choose to receive no plastic or utensils or napkins. I chose this but we still received these things. No biggie but something to be better aware of when you offer this choice to your customers. read more

We are brand new vegans and we decided to try Urban Fresh. The owner recommended his chili burger and his BLT. Both were excellant! He was super friendly and helpful and came out and checked on us and even gave us a delicious dessert! We definetly will go back and you should try their amazing food!! read more

It was certainly time for an update! I wrote my initial review in 2013 and since then....ownership has changed. I can't really speak to that aspect, but I can say that I am super grateful to have this little gem in the downtown area. They've got salad, wraps, soups, smoothies, juices and pastries galore! It's definitely a vegan/vegetarian haven in the city and really offers food for all. It's healthy, fresh and thoughtful food. The team there is incredibly friendly and on one of my recent visits I got to take a peek in the kitchen to see a food item I was curious about. Call me lazy, but if this place was located in my neighborhood at the Mercado San Agustin, I'd eat there everyday without a doubt. Next meal will definitely be breakfast. I love this place.. I've been frequently stopping in 2-3x a week for lunch depending on whether or not I packed my own homemade lunch that morning.. I've tried a variety of things here so far.. from their wraps, salads, daily specials, and desserts Salads: My favorites include the contents in their ying and yang salad *minus the noodles on top.. I really didnt like the texture of those* their vibe alive salad *minus the dressing I will sub that for something else.. since I really hate sweet dressings Wraps: Their taco wrap is delicious and so are their rainbow wraps. Desserts: Their brownies are baked w/ applesauce.. super moist and delicious. Not traditionally sweet.. so they are my top favorite baked goods here. Their lemon bar w/ strawberry sauce was good although it was just a little too "flour-y" for me.. of course their coconut/mango/papaya pudding... my favorite Smoothies/and drinks Their vanilly willy smoothie is my top favorite.. I substitute protein powder w/ dates though, and their vegan 8 is super delicious although sadly I finish that drink off way to quickly... Funky Munkey sub coconut milk w/ coffee = hyper monkey = =D =D =D Specials that vary: Their specials are what keep me on my toes, today their lentil loaf w/ spicy kale + brown rice pilaf was exceptional.. and so was their mango carrot chai smoothie .... sooo delicious and so filling, but in a good way. I can seriously eat bucketfuls of their sauteed spicy kale. I also liked the lasagna they offered sometime last week... I never ever feel weighed down after eating lunch from Urban Fresh. I found this place during my first visit to Tucson it's a great find. The owners are the sweetest people on earth a happy family business it's also home to the worlds best vegan burgers. Yea I claim it is because the size is ultra generous and doesn't leave you feeling heavy afterwards like other comfort foods. Everything's homemade they have a fusion style a separate menu for smoothies and juices. If your not very hungry I'd recommend their chia pudding or banana bread it's amazing too. I wish I'd taken a pic before I started eating, 'coz once I started...there was no stopping until my plate was wiped clean!! Yup, it's that good!! About the only thing we ordered that could do with some tinkering is the Hummus. Totally un-hummus like, and kind of sweet. But points for trying something new. The main thing I noticed the first time I came here was the customer service. It's locally owned, and I believe the owner is working there as well. I am always greeted by a friendly cashier who is always helpful and another friendly man who I believe is the owner. It's a quiet and small place, but they have outdoor and indoor seating. I always order to go. The food is vegan and they do have a few options. For the most part I have liked all of their food. Sometimes, I ask Dana or Chauncey just to fix something for me and sometimes I tell them exactly what I want and that's exactly what I get. I often come more than once a week, because it's good here. Everything, including the restroom is very clean and pleasant. I love the other customers, who are mostly vegan and enjoy organic food standards. If you don't want gluten, then they make suggestions and substitutions according to your wants and needs. If you also favor juices and smoothies, they do them well, too. My son, brought me to Urban Fresh years ago. He's a food pro, now applying to med schools after graduating from Cornell University. This place is a little piece of heaven! The juices are amazing the smoothies are perfect and the food is AWESOME. I suggest the lovin greens and green berry smoothie. Wow! Came here for a quick bite to eat before heading back to Tempe and will be coming back anytime I am in Tucson. This is one of my favorite restaurants ever. There are vegan options in town, but this restaurant is ALL VEGAN! Being vegan myself, I love love love that. Every time I have eaten here, the service is fast, the owners are very nice and accommodating, and I appreciate the authenticity they provide in caring about the food they deliver to their guests. The food is fresh, tasty, flavorful, and unique!!! I've been coming to Urban Fresh ever since I became Vegan two years ago and I always refer to my friends and family. Even if you are not vegan, you won't regret checking it out. The food is anything but bland, and omg don't get me started on the smoothies/shakes! The only downside is the size of the restaurant which is tiny but it is located downtown so that's typical and it is a more causal spot however there is also outside seating which is what I like to do when I'm there. You can also have orders to go which is helpful :) I rate this restaurant a solid 10/10 and if you love tasty, quality, delicious food that makes you feel good, whilst supporting a local family owned business, look no further!! This place is a vegan oasis! If you're vegan or not, you've GOT to come here. The food is incredible! I had the soups! Yes plural because I sampled them both and I couldn't imagine living the rest of my life without having at least tried both of them. So delicious! Both really filling too! It was the mushroom soup full of different fancy mushrooms and the hatch green chili soup. Both out of this world! Also had the cbd kombucha. Delicious!! Service was beyond 5 stars.
