I was in need of a great massage due to painful injury a few years ago from a car accident. I needed someone who was knowledgeable enough to work with an injury and find the trouble spots, as well as go deep enough to benefit but no so hard that I leave in more pain than I came in with. After reading the Yelp reviews on Kenna I decided to schedule an appointment. I called and left a message but Kenna got back to me within a couple of hours and even offered me a same day appointment for late that evening which I though was nice. The time didn't work for me but she was awesome and scheduled me for the next day. When I arrived she was pleasant to speak to and asked me where I needed the most attention. After a short consultation, she sent me to area where she would hopefully work some magic. She was very thorough and really spent a great amount of time on the injured area. She didn't go as deep as other massage therapists had so I admit I was a little skeptical about the amount of pressure she was using, but let me tell ya! After she was finished, I felt AHH-MAZ-ING! No Joke, it was hands down one of the best massages I have had ever! And I have had many. I will definitely be going back to Kenna and will be sending her as many people as I can. So after years of driving past this place, I decided to try it. I didn't want to do an hour just in case the person was not good. I tried the 40 minutes massage (shoulders /back/ arms and neck) and my massage therapist was Liana. Can I tell you, she was AMAZING! I felt really good and was disappointed that I didn't get the hour massage. The place is very relaxing and soothing. I highly recommend Urban Oasis and if you can, get Liana. I have to agree with Kristin S. Tanisha is awesome! I just got a facial from Tanisha today (which included a upper body shoulder/neck massage as well as my arms). The pressure was perfect (not too soft) and she worked out a lot of kinks I didn't know I had. I would definitely go back and I would definitely request Tanisha again. In fact, I scheduled a Hot Stone Massage before I left. Looking forward to that. I have to admit that I did not think I would get that "spa" feeling from any place in SL. I usually like to get out of town for a spa treatment, but I thought I'd give it a try. I really like the place and would definitely go back again. My only complaint might be that you don't really get complete quiet. I heard people talking in the parking lot out back and because you're in tents and not rooms, it's easy to hear every little noise going on. Not too bad though. The chirping birds and water sounds are almost loud enough to drown out the other noises. read more

I am very picky about my massage therapists (being a body worker myself) and I hardly ever go to spas anymore because I have been disappointed too often. I recently had a massage with Kenna and it was definitely one of the best I have had. She asked about my specific needs beforehand and worked on all the areas I mentioned. She was very intuitive about finding issues I had not mentioned, and followed my body's needs for slower or faster pacing. In general I feel she was just really there with me for the whole session, paying close attention to my body and being able to blend deep tissue with flowing strokes seamlessly. I didn't have to say anything, she just sensed what my muscles needed. After the session I felt amazing. And I love the hot towels she used! I felt very pampered and well taken care of. The space itself is beautiful - the relaxing atmosphere had a calming effect on me as soon as I entered. All in all it was a perfect experience and I highly recommend it! read more

Ive gotten massages at Urban Oasis a couple times now, each time with a different massage therapist. Having been to the Claremont, Bliss, and a ton of other really expensive spas, I must say that if you are going with the intent of getting a massage that will really make your back feel better than there is no where better than Urban Oasis. Its very small but beautifully decorated and the prices are by far the most reasonable of any of the places I've been too. $115 gets you a 90 minute massage with a foot scrub! this is the treatment I always get and I couldn't believe how relaxed I am after a 90 minute massage! And the therapists use their time so well - using vairous techniques from swedish, to reflexology, to hot stone massage, to some energy work, to thai influenced stretching/massage. I feel confident when there that, whatever my problem is, the massage therapist has the knowledge and skills to address it in a variety of way. On top of the amazing massages-which really are aimed at addressing your specific aches and pains- the service here is really special. It is definitely a community and people friendly business and you know when going there that their goal is not to rush you through your services - you really are getting personalized attention from the minute you walk in to the moment you leave. Also, Ive had better luck getting appointments at times I was free here than anywhere else - I literally schedule treatments for long lunch breaks during my work day and Ive been able to call a day in advance (even once the day of!) and get a time that worked for me - this is really unique I think for the quality of servce you recieve. In short, this has definitely become my "home" spa - not just because its affordable or because its conveniently located (tons of free parking!) but because I know that the time I spend there will be from start to finished a relaxing and healing experience. read more

This is a great, small, unassuming, and relaxing spa that luckily is walking distance from my home, but just off 580 for those who need to drive. Kenna was my masseuse and she was wonderful. Very nurturing, quiet, not chatty (don't like the chatty masseuse when I'm trying to relax); we talked beforehand about what I wanted (or thought I needed) and what was actually best for my needs, and had a debrief afterward of how it went for me, did I need more or less pressure, what I enjoyed and didn't enjoy so the next experience would be even better (if possible). She used dry heat, warm hot towels,etc. to soften my muscles. It was wonderful! read more

I found this place to be incredibly relaxing and the massage was exactly what I was looking for. Kenna the massage therapist I had took a few minutes in the beginning to find out exactly what I needed and then proceeded to give me one of the best massages I have ever had. I have had the opportunity to have five or six massages at Urban Oasis and it is wonderful. The massages include a wonderful mix of aromatherapy and heat (i.e. hot towels, stones and heating pad). The prices are extremely reasonable and gift shop is great for home spa supplies. read more

I am used to the Vegas Hotel Spa's,but this was a nice surprise in San Leadro. Everyone was very nice and my massage was great. I am not a fan of real DEEP massages so my pressure was just right. I will be going again and often. read more
