3.5 I still like this Urban Outfitters even though it's small and the upstairs men's section is confusing to me (I'm more used to the Santa Monica store where the downstairs is the men's/ home section). But the Pasadena one does have some broken down arcade games. This store is a bit messy though. Especially around the clearance section. Strangely, this one has the largest selection of footless tights and fingerless mittens I've ever seen. They have a small joke-y gifts and books in one corner of the ground floor. And more last minute gifts by the cash registers along with overpriced junky jewelry. One day, I'll be able to pull off the skinny pants and fringe boots looks. And I know where to go to buy all that stuff. I'm calling this the Hot Topic of Hipster stores. Much like Hot Topic is a mall look of goths, Urban Outfitters is the trendy scenester store. read more

UO sells some pretty cute, original, and cool clothes. But the material and make of their apparel . .OMG. I feel like I'm buying an item from a discount/cheap store like Forever 21 but paying an upscale, designer price like that of Bloomies. I remember when I used to shop here in middle school (back then, all the indie/emo/goth/industrial/punk kids used to shop here. Yeah, I was a little emo kid back then. . .I listened to Leather Strip, London After Midnight, Switchblade Symphony, NIN, Tool, Deftones, etc. . . hard to believe, I know.) and then all of a sudden sometime in my hs years, the clientele made a 180, and people that shop at Abercrombie or F21 or something started to spill in. It became the IT store, and was overrun by all kinds of people, not contained into one category or other. Pretty cool. But what's not cool was tnat then they started to pick up mainstream labels, like Diesel, Miss Sixty, Lacoste, Betsy Johnson, etc. . .and they upped the price by a lot. If you don't believe me, match the prices from UO to the actual store. . .yup, they hike up their prices significantly. Lame! Overall, I only shop here when they have sales, otherwise I don't think it's worth it for me to spend $50 on something I can buy for $10 at F21. Or, if I wanted to pay for designer named fashion brand apparel. . .I'd go to Bloomingdales or Neiman. read more

I had to return two candles that I purchased online which arrived shattered due to flimsy packaging. I thought the customer service at the Pasadena store was quite indifferent, blasé , and cold. I was met with clerks who had blank affects and robotic responses. I like the merchandise at Urban just not the staff, at least at this branch. My favorite Urban! I've been to my fair share of UO in different cities (literally 70% of my closet is from UO), and this one has by far the best (and largest) sale selection. Everyone else always complains about the prices, but seriously, everything goes on sale eventually. The longer the clothing's in the sale section, the more they discount it. DON'T BUY ANYTHING REGULAR PRICE. I've snagged dresses for $10 and multiple pairs of pants for less than $20. Sometimes it's annoying when there's only one person working the register and ten people waiting in line... go on a weekday if you can. Park in the Delacey Parking Structure (90 minutes free) and walk over. read more

The urban sister of Anthropologie! If you're someone who likes a little bit more funk, a dash of sport, and darker/bolder colors, you'll like urban outfitters! This particular location is really great - on one end of Old Town Pas! Although I have to say that the prices are not friendly to your wallet, the trick is to shop sale in the back of the first floor. I usually shop sale and I buy some really cool tees, dresses, shorts/pants, and of course sandals/slippers. My favorites are the unique sandals. The cheapest you'll find for sandals are twenty, but I get compliments on mine all the time! The dressing rooms are nice and so are the workers. read more

I dunno if it's the semi-cluttered way you display your clothes or the crowd that you always attract, but whenever I go into your store, I always leave with a purchase in hand. That, and I always wish I coulda bought more!!! I left with: 1) 2 rose pomegranate candles-- I lighted one today, and now my living room smells as sweet as me (he he). 2) a mocha colored tank for $6--sweet!! 3) another harajuku girls keychain--hey, I jump at any chance the mass chain store puts out asian girls as one of their products. 4) a plaid newsboy hat with a bow on side--too cute!..okay, okay, it's my sister's. I got a really cool pair of pants here for only $10.86!!!! I thought they were going to cost me about $70 too:) The bad thing is that the clothing here is for skinnier people mostly. I tried on their v neck t shirts and they were tight:( I can't blame them for my weight but I can sure blame them for not making roomier clothing. Other shirts I tried were really tight too:( Beware! Most of their jeans seem to be skinny jeans:( If this all makes it seem like this is a hipster store well, yes, it pretty much is:( There are long lines here a lot of the time:( The clothing that is not on sale is very pricey and much of it doesn't have the greatest quality fabric:( I had no problems with service. They were nice and helpful enough! Every once in a while places like this sell some nice looking stuff so I will return! I was really disappointed with this urban at Old Town Pasadena. (Guys only) Obviously the women's section will be bigger, but the male section wasn't all that great and had very limited selection. Sale section: There is a particular section on the side where urban known for their sale sections. Unfortunately, there's only like one rack for males. I've been to better urban like the one at Fashion Island for example was a lot better. Meh, not coming back to this location. read more

Markie the manager is the Bomb she is amazing. She really cares about her customers and is there for the whole customer service and to manage the store. She gets along well with her staff and she's knowledgeable of the merchandise. I go in the store a lot and she has always been accommodating to me, when I ask questions. I was there yesterday Adam did my sale and Markie went out of her way to help me because I'm a pain in the butt. This review is long overdue but well deserved after yesterday. OBSSESSED with this clothing store. If you look in my closet it's all from here. Basically!!! This location is the best one I have been to. They always have the best selections and have a good stock of my sizes. Other locations I've been to seems like they always run out if stock in my size. That can be do frustrating. If that were to happen I always shop on their online website, which is dangerous. Shopping in the comfort of my own home is scary with credit card in hand. HA!! But seriously urban always has great pieces from super chill to boho chic. They also have great accessories. Beautiful unique jewelry. I'm in love with their midi ring selections. For y'all who don't know what those are. Their rings that stop before your knuckles. Super trendy right now. Urban also has cool hats/hair accessories. I never buy sunglasses here bc they all look so cheesy. Like the ones you find at those tourist gift shops. Oh and they have a great selection of bags. Leather bags that range from big to small, suede fringe bags, and cute clutches. It can get expensive here. Most dresses can range from $54-100. I love how they have cute tank tops and they always do the buy 2 for $24. If you have the patience, new arrival items usually tend to go on sale 1-2 months later. Yah so this store is my all time favorite store ever. I am seriously one of the reasons why this store is still in business. They drain me of my money. But they make me look fabulous. Their sizes fit my body perfectly. Don't ever need to get anything altered. It's just made for me, so I think it's totally worth every dollar I spend here. I don't care if I'm no longer within the age that UO is targetting as shoppers but I still like to shop their sales and used to be my favorite store since I was a young teen. I always feel so old shopping here but it's so fun to watch all the kids here trying to look the part and dress the way that MTV and VH-1 says you should. I usually find a lot in their clearance racks (or I wait awhile for items to get moved there) cuz it's ridiculous to pay $58 for a plain vneck cotton tank. This particular location has the womens section on the first floor and had a pretty good selection than another UO that I just visited last week. Was about to make a large purchase but needed to use the restroom and was told I had to walk to Starbucks where I am not a customer because only the employees are allowed to use the one in the store. I understand not letting non customers use the restroom but paying customers should be able and should not be instructed to use another establishments restroom when there is no public restroom available anywhere in the shopping center either. read more

Interesting kitsch randomness (coasters that look like vinyl records, etc.), but not much in the way of substance. Sure, plenty of off the shoulder shirts with phrases suited to Lindsday Lohan ("Sober"). Okay, LiLo on a very optimistic streak. Nonetheless, over the top pricing and the lack of a single represent type graphic tee make this place a bust. If you're looking for boutique type clothing--like you'd find on Mission in SF--then you may find a gem here. Just brace yourself for the price. read more

Urban Outfitters and I have a love hate relationship. I love the styles that they offer but hate the pricing. Some items are redunkulously overpriced for what it is, for example a simple solid Henley long sleeve can be priced as high as $38.00. SIGH... what to do? Although items can be priced super high, there are & can be awesome deals in the sale section if you look hard enough. Hmmm...I'm surprised that there are so many reviews on here about the customer service here. I can't say that I've had a bad experience here. But then again, it takes a lot for me to get mad & am too preoccupied to pay attention to people, especially bad vibes. You can call it selective memory : ) The last time I was here recently there was a sale. The only thing better than finding a top you wanted, is finding it on sale. That, my friends, is precisely what happened here. I saw a top I wanted on the UO site & it was $54. I wanted to try it on before committing, came here, saw the sale rack & went there first. Lo & behold...the top I saw on the site, but on sale in the store for $29.99. Score! I waltzed in w/ 4 of the same top (different colors & sizes). No line. No attitude from the attendant. Disclaimer: I may be biased b/c of my enthusiasm. I decided on the size & color of the top I liked best & waltzed again (in quick time w/ increasing tempo for you music nerds ; ) & made my purchase. It came out to a little over $30. Grinning like a Chesire cat, I asked the cashier how often they got shipment. He was informative & told me every week. Maybe UO isn't my style, or maybe I'm not used to the rugged-should be torn-down buildings they're usually in. Service is practically non-existent here, but there appears to be plenty of customers when I went. My friend hit the clearance section and all I saw were girls rummaging through the racks as they step over other clothes on the floor. While I was just walking through, I couldn't rationalize why they sell sandals for 20 bucks when they have no grip/arch whatsoever. I guess style does hurt. Oh, and since it's a two story building, you can also hear people walking upstairs; it's so old that it creaks. I think I would avoid this place in the future! read more

I remember shopping here a LOT when I was in high school (not this exact location, but the store in general). After having one so close to me now... I tend to just walk in to see what's going on. Yes, they are over-priced for many things... but people still buy it. I would buy some of the things I find there still if I find it may be at a reasonable price. I do sometimes feel like they should be receiving better merchandise at this location or more... I used to shop at the one in SF (Union Square) and 2nd in Berkeley. I felt like they had a lot more to look at there (but these were all from my past trips in h/s & college). I will always love the family of Anthropologie, Free People, & Urban Outfitters. Discrimination at Urban Outfitters - letter sent to HQ: I am seeking a reply from the general manager or hiring/firing supervisor of this location. The behavior displayed by this employee was grounds for immediate dismissal. This is what happened: I walked into the store and straight to the front of the line. Ahead were 3 clerks at their high-pedestal stations. First two were busy with customers, last clerk, Adda, was standing at her register. She made quick eye contact with me, blinked several times, glanced away at her coffee thermos and then began striking up a loud, personal conversation with the clerk next to her. They both chatted back and forth in this manner for a good 3 minutes while I stood in line. It wasn't until a few customers started lining up behind me that she finally stopped chatting and said "I can help you over here". I am in my early 40's, 5'4" and have a green Mohawk. We made eye contact so there is no way this clerk didn't see me. I walked over to her and said "I've been standing there for a few minutes." At this point I noticed her whole attitude and posture was condescending and unfriendly. No smile, no greeting. She continued to glare at me with a snarky attitude during the transaction. After our quick transaction was complete, she handed my item back and without prompting at all says to me in one long dramatic breath "I didn't see you because you're short and there were taller customers in front of you, thank you have a great day." This might seem harmless on paper but please understand the tone and intention with this remark was completely flabbergasting. It was something out of horrible soap opera. There were no customers in front of me, I was first in line and could clearly be seen head to toe from her station. I quickly asked for her name, which she just shrugged off, smiled, laughed and shook her head. None of the employees were wearing name tags. I looked at the other clerks and asked "what is this person's name?" to which they actually laughed and turned away. With a smirk, she started saying to the clerks around her "I just explained to her why I didn't see her." I asked the other clerks a third time and the first clerk, a male, finally said "her name is Adda." I said nothing else and walked out. I opted not to speak with a manager in person as I could see quite clearly this was an issue of discrimination and she'd quite possibly use the same line with her supervisor. I was not in this for a fight, I was already shaking with outrage. I want to know what will be done about this. I am suggesting a meeting and reprimanding or possibly terminating her position at Urban Outfitters. I can't imagine this is protocol for Urban Outfitters. I have enjoyed this location since it first opened, and will never shop here again if this is the treatment I will receive. read more

Out of all the Urban Outfitters I been to, this is the one I love most. They are always organized and stocked. Staffs are very friendly and helpful, going the extra mile for me, getting me what I need. I love going thru the books, small items, random things on the side. I always leave buying something random rather then clothes. What I would love to do is trying on a lot of their items to see how they fit, find an ideal outfit then buy it. But if its out of my budget, I normally check to see if they have it online. When its on sale, I would get it them. My best purchase from Urban is a pair of Cooperative Canvas Wedge Heel for $48. Til this day, I am still wearing it. God I love it. It goes well everything. I pretty much leave this pair of heels in my car and if I want to be a little fancy, I just slip it on. Quick tip, always leave a nice pair of heels in the car, you just don't know when you would need it. ;) read more

I'm not much of a fashionista, which is something MANY people point out to me and laugh at... I don't deny it though. My fashion sense is lacking. So the only times I come to places such as this is when I'm with company that know what to look for. There are lots of cool (and expensive) knick knacks here. Several novelty cameras, like the Holga and fisheye... Speaking as a photographer, I can come to appreciate that. There's a lot of dirty joke books. Over the holidays once, a companion and I saw Linus' blanket (a Peanuts comic reference) on sale. A lot of their clothing is out of my price range (to reference, you can often find me at Old Navy), but there is a clearance section on the second floor that's worth checking out. The last time I was here, ended up purchasing a graphic t because of the novelty. So to end, I'd like to say that I'm not the demographic for this store, but if I'm with stylish company in the vicinity of Old Town Pasadena, I will most likely be here as part of their entourage. read more

I occasionally like what this store carries. I have been extremely satisfied or sorely disapointed with merchandise I've bought here. They carry their own brand and outside brands. Despite what other reviewers might say, the prices are on par with the brands they have, IMHO. Their own UO brand falls a little short on the quality and consistency compared with some other brands they stock. I bought a hoody sweatshirt that after the first wash exaggerated a flaw that would have put it in the seconds bin. Their printed T-shirts seem to be made from varying material: the same size may fit or wear differently. Try on everything and don't be surprised how the stuff changes after a wash. Fortunately I've been introduced to brands from this store that I continue to enjoy and love. Use the store to find the brands or clothing ideas you like, then decide if you're willing to pay them for the research or not. read more

I came to Pasadena with a friend to hang out and use the gift certificate I had for Crossroads down the street, so I wasn't really planning on coming here but you can't go wrong with a walking day in Old Town can you? I walked in and spotted the sale section (big wooden sign lol) and found a pair of RVCA shorts for 20 bucks. Not bad I have to say. But beware: SALE SECTION IS SCARY. It's fairly organized but shoes and bags are in the same area and it's a mess. Kind of creepy too since the "hipster" feel of the store with the unfinished beams and concrete fixtures makes the sale section a little more depressing. Went upstairs and the men's sale section was so organized. D: I guess that says more about women than the cleanliness of the store. Spotted a pair of sunglasses with little marijuana prints all over them, score!! Haha! But $14.00 for a pair of sunglasses with a fun print on them isn't really justified with me but since they were the last pair I got them. The second level is really scary with the wood floors ending in splinters as a cool "aging" building effect. They built rails before the splintered ends but one can't help but feel the floor is going to collapse beneath them. My friend and I spent a couple of minutes discussing the interesting death of hipsters. Hmm. Customer service was great. The fitting room girl was extremely nice and not in a fake-sounding way either. She seemed genuinely happy that I wasn't a picky customer. That's sweet. The cashier was pleasant and the tag on the RVCA shorts I got were ripped off and she quickly got another pair and scanned them, no fuss. All in all, a very nice UO. Clean, stocked well, and the employees are friendly. Definitely recommend this store. My review may be subject to circumstance though since it was a random Tuesday afternoon and there were less shoppers and staff on the whole, but still. Not many little middle school kids trying to be cool here. I like that. read more

It's your typical Urban, just a little bigger and possibly more Expensive. It's right at the end of Colorado in Old Town. The space it is in is cool, it's real open and has a cool industrial feel not like the one's in the mall. They have an above average vinyl selection which is cool. You can expect the usual ultra-hipster crowd and staff, and all the things they like to wear... And buy... I'm sad to say that's all I got because they sell some of the most ridiculous, offensive stuff there. Look it up. For the record, I don't shop here, I was accompanying someone. read more

I love this place. Always someone there by the door to greet you as soon as you walk in. Its so bittersweet every time I go in though. All because those prices man, dang!! Like, I know I want everything in there, but there is no way in hell I could afford it. Window shopping will have to do :) Now and then I find myself snagging candles, records, books, glassware, or other miscellaneous items here and there. Maybe even some clearance stuff ( its so stinking cute sometimes ), other than that like I said, window shopping all the way! Wish it was a bit less pricey :/ Location is far down colorado blvd. No really if you are committed to being "different" and having people whisper "ooooh she's so edgy" or "so out there" or "I want to be like her" then high tail it here pronto! Alright in all seriousness I'm embarrassed by my obsession with this place because the clothes cost too much! The quality isn't that great but yet I still find myself forking over $80 bucks for something that I could have purchased at H&M or Forever 21 for $20/$30. Perhaps I secretly stan for hipster-style...no I just like cute shit and this place definitely has it, but really the mark-up is absolutely ridiculous and hopefully I can break my habit of coming here so much. I love this store- I had a good experience with the service and the clothing..sometimes they keep their inventory the same for months and IDK about that cuz it's a bit of a drive for me mmkay.. BUT...i am too much of a UO fan to notice bad service because that wont stop me from going to the store. I actually did have a rude dressing room attendant..she was kinda snobby..because she works at a high end fashion store OMG *rolls eyes*...
