The food is awesome! The service is remarkable, they always strive to please. Our favorite is the Massaman Curry, it's delicious!

We were so excited to try this place. Unfortunately, the food was weirdly terrible with lots of strange and overpowering flavors. The service wasn't great either. My favorite was the Thai basil fried rice! The pineapple curry was superb as well. This is also the first place I've had tofu cooked properly. This is our favorite Thai place period. We eat here almost every date night. Came here tonight with my son. Food was excellent as always. Service was..... inattentive. We had to ask for silverware. Never checked to see if our food was good. Never refilled our water. He knew we wanted a to-go order to take home to the wife but waited until we were completely done eating before coming back to check on us. Now I have 15 minutes sitting here waiting so I can write this review. Hopefully this does not fall on deaf ears with the management. read more

Greeted immediately upon arriving. I had reservations for 8 people and they were ready for us. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. The Tom Kha Soup is superb! I will be back for this if nothing else. The chicken wontons are so skimpy on the chicken I could not even tell that they had a filling. Urban Thai Chicken Wings were very good. The Pork Rolls were much better than the vegetable ones. Pad Thai Shrimp Tempura was very enjoyable. Everyone said that their entrees were delicious. Everyone ordered different levels of heat and that it turned out that everyone was happy with the level of heat that they ordered and received. The chef was able to successfully prepare the food to match the many different tastes. The service and food made for a wonderful dining experience. read more

Very disappointing. Waitstaff is unprofessional -- many mistakes made. Got part way through a "veggie" tom kha soup before the server rushed and grabbed it from me with no explanation other that "sorry, this wasn't for you..." Turns out it had chicken in it, which wasn't the end of the world for me, though certainly not what I ordered. Were I a vegetarian, it'd be different. Ended up getting the tofu soup after all, and it made my stomach very rumbly. I'd say without a doubt, AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

Food always good (although heat levels vary greatly by chef, lunch to dinner) BUT... The consistent question is who trains the wait staff? Consistently unfamiliar with their own menu, marginal service (fingers in held bowls, etc.), and general cluelessness. This damages the overall experience. Man, I really wanted to like this place.. Let me start off by saying the food is really pretty darn good! The problem was about four hours later when I had full on food poisoning. The next several days of my life were complete hell! Now for the almost as frustrating part.. My sister called to let them know that I was camped out in the bathroom due to their green curry and they couldn't be bothered. I was very surprised! All they said was "we will check on it" and quickly hung up. Not sure what I was expecting? I guess I like to give my business to people that at least act like they care about their customers. **In response to your response.. You must have me mixed up with someone else with food poisoning. Fallen off in quality significantly over the past year, and still haven't fixed the drinks. I'm not getting fooled. Go into the bathroom and see a bunch of utility closet equipment, non-functional soap, it's dirty, etc... My wife's dish was bland and the meat was unacceptably tough. She had to send it back. My dish was okay but the portions were chintzy for the price. The drinks were still overly sour and sweet. I think this place is on it's way out. Such a shame, they had good food before and all they had to do was step it up on the drinks, and now they've let the food drop off. read more

Pretty okay food and polite staff, but somewhat lacking in character (It's the best word I could come up with). I got the Pad Thai, and found it somewhat bland, and the chicken a little tough, but overall it was a pretty inoffensive dish. The two other people in my party got the Green Chicken Curry and the Spicy Shrimp Scampi. The Green Chicken Curry was a little too spicy, while the Spicy Shrimp Scampi was not spicy enough, and too sweet. It should also be noted that this is not the place to go if you have Celiac disease or are gluten-intolerant. There were very little choices that were gluten free, and some items on the menu, such as the Stir-Fried Broccoli, I was honestly a little confused as to why they weren't gluten free. Obviously, the place is called "Urban" Thai, so the atmosphere, (if a little too over-the-top in trendiness) was to be expected. We all agreed that we definitely preferred Thai Kitchen or Malee Thai in terms of authenticity, atmosphere, and food. read more

Had family in town from California and we're looking for something tasty to bring home for our party of 10. Having myself moved to Longmont recently from Hawaii I was super excited to see a Thai place close. The good: Super close to my house, food was ready when they said it would be. We didn't dine in but the restaurant looked very clean and nice. The hostess was very friendly and warm, I honestly think Colorado has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced! Food was tasty, group favorites were the egg bomb and Pad See Ew. The bad: Biggest bad was they forgot the lettuce for the lettuce wraps. :( We called and they said we could come back and pick it up but by that point we just wanted to eat. My Mom complained that it was pricier for less portions than the Thai place she frequents in Cali. I thought that while the meat and/or veggies seemed light for some dishes the quality of the meat was good. Things we asked for with no spice were still spicy, not sure if that's just Thai food in general and it wouldn't have been that big of a deal we just had about 5 children eating who complained every dish was spicy. Last but not least the fried appetizer combo was just not good. Again, maybe our bad for ordering fried food to go but everything was wet with steam & chewy. And the coconut shrimp & red dipping sauce were overwhelming sweet. All in all it i think Urban Thai was good with a ton of potential to be great. read more

Third dinner @ Urban Thai, fabulous!!!!! Coming from Chi-town whereThai food is amazing...and being a huge foodie...totally impressed. The green curry scrumptious , chicken cooked perfectly, you can choose your desired heat,1-5, if you like spicy , go 5. Drunken Noodles beautifully moist, and full of flavor. The apps, ALL rock, the light ,crispy wrap on the veggie rolls, as well as the shrimp wraps, amazing, dipping sauces are spot on. Pad Thai,zesty,sweet and spicy.Yum!!! Good food and nice service make Urban Thai a strong recommendation. I had dinner here with my son and we enjoyed the coconut shrimp appetizer in addition to a couple curry entries. The apps came out quickly followed by our main dishes which were all delicious. The waiter also kept our water glasses full which was a nice treat. The only downfall was the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. I wish it was a little more cozy. There is nothing wrong with the restaurant, just wish it felt a little more inviting. read more

I would give Urban Thai more stars if they were available. Friendly staff, gracious owners dedicated to providing the best possible experience to their customers, tastefully decorated space, and did I mention the food? Everything I've tried on the menu has been incredibly delicious. My favorites: coconut shrimp and chicken sate appetizers, pineapple curry entree, and fried bananas for dessert. Orders are made fresh, so if you're looking to go in and point to what you want and walk out three minutes later, this is not your place. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience! This restaurant delivers on many levels - great fresh Thai food and a reasonable price. We were able to call ahead and reserve, however, I would suggest doing so or risking the possibility of waiting outside. It is a slightly small space and seating could be limited during peak times. The food was just perfect - it hit all the right notes, the taste was very much authentic Thai and the quantities were enough to make you get a good meal without having to worry about taking food home. Spice levels can be tailored to your needs and there are enough vegetarian options as well. It takes the standard Thai food and adds a little extra to it in flavor and freshness, to make the food taste a whole lot better. The ambiance has an understated elegance to it - Prospect has some older buildings that got converted into restaurants. It retains the rustic nature of the building with well selected Thai touches, that may make you feel a little more upscale than the price may suggest. Group of 4 of us last night around 6:30 had dinner at Urban Thai. It was OK, not great, and pretty pricey for what you actually get. Our bill came to just under $90 and included the combo appetizer (2 small egg rolls, 2 coconut shrimp and 2 wontons), soup for 4, 3 entrees, 2 desserts and 1 glass of wine. The combo app was fine- hard to mess up fried food- so nothing really astounding there. The Thom Ka Ga soup was flavorful, but unfortunately riddled with lemongrass stalk that was not strained out and was chopped up far too small to see on the spoon which resulted in everyone pulling small, pokey lemongrass sticks out of their mouth during the soup course- not fun. The entrees were fine- nothing great- pad thai, thick noodles and a curry. The desserts were TERRIBLE! 1 star off for the worst dessert I've had in a long time. We ordered two Mango Sticky Rice desserts and the waiter informed us that they were out of the "blue rice" but that they had prepared it with white rice. Ok- no big deal- we had all eaten mango sticky rice prepared with white rice before, so we didn't think twice. Big mistake...they served it with a very aromatic Jasmine rice-not white rice- and the whole dessert smelled and tasted like an air freshener: jasmine + coconut + mango = GROSS! Two desserts split across 4 people and we didn't eve come close to clearing the very small portions off the plates. Also- 1 star taken off for not having iced tea available (who doesn't have iced tea?), and 1 star taken off for horrible service- our waiter was extremely aloof and couldn't remember if he had taken our entree orders (which he hadn't). We also had to ask two other waitstaff for things like spoons (for the soup course) and water. I would not recommend Urban Thai and will definitely not be back. Over-rated and over-priced. read more

Not that Urban Thai needs my endorsement, but it is quite excellent. Spice levels stay a bit lower than you might expect so up it one level above what you might otherwise get. The owners are from Portland and are doing an excellent job! True to Portland, they have a pretty good kids menu as well; I always appreciate that. Get the shrimp tempura pad Thai. It's a bit different but really fantastic; my wife gets it almost exclusively! Some Thai places in the area taste like some ingredients are missing, but not here. GO TO URBAN THAI, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED! I've been there about 6 times at this point. It's a bit loud and echoey so if you don't like a "live" space be sure to come at off times. read more

I love this little gem right near my hood. Hard to find Gluten free options in Longmont, but they are willing to accommodate here with rice noodles and veggies and Tamari, wheat free soy sauce. Has the shrimp tempura Pad Thai ($15) and squash red curry ($11). I thought the Pad Thai was ok but have had better. I did not like the addition of squash in the curry, compared to veggie only curries I've had in the past. I got it b/c the waitress recommended it. Usually we have to take food home in to go boxes but the portions here weren't big enough to do that. I got 3.5 spicy scale and it was pretty hot so I recommend getting a 2 if you want medium heat. Smart, clean industrial decor with interesting artistic touches. Service friendly and attentive. Best vegetable spring rolls I've ever had. Each dish cooked to order, so spiciness can be ordered. Cashew chicken was excellent. Also had one of tonite's special: pumpkin red curry (2 out of 5 spicy), with chicken as the protein; it was amazing. OK selection of beers; thin selection of low-priced wines I was not familiar with, but given how well done everything else was, I'll give them a try. read more
