They used to make great pies and sometimes still do, but lately most of their pies are too dense and thick crusted (not in a goodway) and there is always a lot of excess flower on the bottom that makes every bite to dry. When I used to live in the area - Linwood Pizza was one of my go to pizza shops! Located in Linwood Plaza next to Starbucks. If you go to Linwood Plaza for Hmart or CVS you'll find Linwood Pizza right in-between the two. If you're like me you may go to Hmart to do your weekly grocery shopping. Personally, after all that shopping I usually end up hungry or peckish. Which is where Linwood Pizza comes into play - a slice to fuel me up for the rest of the day? What could be better? Having been away for 3 months in Korea and back a few weeks ago, one of the few dishes I missed the most was pizza. The Donna's Pizza in Palisades Park is my favorite place - Hawaiian & Socilian pizza - a must. My friend recommended Linwood Pizza & yes, we ordered Cheese steak pizza - probably not a great choice of the day !!!! Quite salty for me, the crust was way too hard for me, and ended up throwing away all the crust parts. Linwood Pizza is a solid place for slices and subs. I'm giving it 3 stars instead of 4 just because it is a little pricier than what I'm used to, but the food in itself never disappoints. I've had numerous mushroom slices here, and the rolls they use for their subs are delicious. My opinion is how good they are in order chicken chipotle, gyro, bacon egg and cheese, eggplant, buffalo chicken, baked ziti, cheeseburger, chicken masala, Sicilian, chicken parm, grandma, spinach and feta, You honestly can hit a home run on any specialty slice from this pizzeria. The salads here are also pretty good if you are trying to stay away from the pizza. They swear by the heros but honestly the specialty slices are so good I never take the chance on anything else. The vibe here is a mom and pop pizzeria, they know the regulars so don't feel mistreated if you are not talked to full on convo understand it is a small tight space to work back there give them a break. I ordered from this restaurant for the first time today through Uber eats. An honest rating? It's mediocre. Well the "gourmet hero's" are. I did not try the pizza. But after having the garlic knots (that were dry, lacked garlic, and oil) I'm not too sure if I want to try the pizza. Along with the garlic knots I ordered the "drunken chicken" sandwich. The description read breaded fried chicken so I imagined MAYBE I'd be getting a breaded chicken cutlet. Instead, my sandwich was made with chicken tenders (and it's not the kind where you can tell it's actual chicken breast, looks like ground chicken patties.) The choice of chicken was poor. The chicken had a weird watery taste that screamed they were previously frozen and not freshly made. The vodka sauce in the sandwich is visibly there, but if you were blinded folded you wouldn't be able to tell what they slapped on the sandwich. This restaurant gets three stars because the bread was fresh and the sandwich was cheesy. But that's about it. I guess they're hoping for dunk people to order the drunken chicken sandwich. It's 1 am and the hunger has struck the squad. Most food establishments are closed by now, but it seems like Linwood Pizza is always open when no one else is. I usually get the buffalo chicken, bbq chicken, or penne slice. They also have decent cold cut sandwich's. Service is hit or miss. I had a terrible experience with this location (Totowa NJ). For Lunch, I placed a order for a sandwich which they were told no tomatoes (I'm allergic to tomatoes). When I received my sandwich it had tomatoes on it. I immediately called and spoke with Anthony who claims he was the manager. He said he would give me another sandwich only if I came and picked it up. If I wanted another sandwich delivered I would have to wait until 4pm. He was not willing to deliver another sandwich with no tomatoes even after I told him I was allergic. He was rude , obnoxious and has NO customer service skills. I was hung up on 3 times. I will call back another day and hopefully speak with a different manager. This is a terrible place to order from. They DO NOT care about their customers.
