Randomly came across this spot searching on Yelp. The sandwich menu looked great to me so I was sold. When we arrived at Urbane Cafe, we were greeted and checked out the menu for their other fine selections. Ordered a tri tip pastrami sandwich and an Italian wedding soup. Win win! My introduction to Urbane cafe was via a Yelp event I attended. I'm VERY happy they're here and in a convenient location to the Galleria shopping mall and Costco. I have tried their sandwiches, salads, drinks and cookies. Everything has been SO delicious! The staff is friendly and helpful, I noticed some going above and beyond which is great for a young crew. It reminds me of Panera but more intimate. My only disappointment is the extra $3 charge for gluten free bread. Which is delicious! Next time I venture back, I'll try the soup. It was our first time here and it was better than we expected! They ONLY use fresh ingredients and also they bake their bread and cookies on the spot all day long!!! Which makes it extremely rare these days for the restaurant to make it everything from the scratch and everything is fresh- nothing frozen EVER!!! They use local ingredients and make healthy delicious sandwiches, bowls and farm fresh salads. They have a great selection of hearty meals , including vegetarian options too. The side salads served with those sandwiches are pretty decent as well. The real treat are their cookies ( available in several different flavors - my suggestion " white chocolate cranberry " MUST TRY ) and of course baked fresh daily and served warm and so soft and delicious! Honestly the best cookie that I've ever had! They also have a healthier version of fountain drinks " Craft Batch Sodas " and they are even tastier than regular Coke or Pepsi products. This is a cool restaurant we never knew about this place and we have been to restaurants around this area. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to sit down and enjoy the full experience but I ordered a So Cal sandwich: roasted chicken, avocado, pepper jack cheese, green leaf lettuce, tomatillo salsa, chipotle aioli. I give it a 7.5 out of 10 (In my Keith voice). I felt like it was missing a spicy sauce or something to go from good to delicious. My wife had the Pesto & Sundried Tomato sandwich: roasted chicken, basil pesto, sundried tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, arugula, vegenaise. All sandwiches are served with a Urbane House Salad and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. I saw on their site they have bunch of locations in Cali. The staff at the front was very helpful. This spot popped up on my radar last week when they had a Teacher Appreciation event with free meals for educators - several friends forwarded me the info and even though it's a lengthy drive from the NW, I went ahead and placed orders. I was pleasantly surprised by our meals - you could smell bread baking as you walked in, the menu has a lot of healthy options and incorporates several diets (vegetarian, vegan, keto), and everything we had was very fresh. My husband's Chimichurri Steak Sandwich was a good size, and the meat was flavorful and tender. The chimichurri sauce was not my favorite, and made the sandwich oily without the strong punch of herbal flavor I expected. The Salmon Bowl was my choice and I was apprehensive about the sauces on it, but really liked how all the flavors came together - good fall choice with the sweet potatoes too, which I haven't paired with salmon before. The app and website are easy to use, and our pickup order was ready as scheduled and was correct. I am curious to see how they do with Cafe Zupas being literally in the same lot, with a very similar "fresh, healthy" concept. After being open for 20 years in Caliornia they finally decided to move out to Vegas like everyone else in the valley (hehe). They're my newest fave lunch spot and have captured my heart. The employees are super sweet and I want to give a shout out to Sarah and the manager Yahayra for the recommendations! They make everything in house and from scratch.. you can see them making the focaccia bread as you walk in. We opted for the salmon salad, pastrami tri tip, and chimichurri steak. I was looking for a good sandwhich place when Yelp pointed me in this direction. Bonus: its in my neighborhood. My mom and I went for a SUnday lunch and split a sandwhich and some soups. What makes this place unique is their bread- it's foccacia like (but not quite). It's very good, though, and makes for a good sandwhich. You order form a kiosk, so there was no "service" to rate. They did feel rather urbane, actually. Urbane Cafe (perhaps a play on Urban, but an actual word too) is about as much a Cafe as their new neighbor Cafe Zupas is. Located at the end of a (chain) restaurant row of Five Guys, Jimmy John's, and Jet's Pizza, this first non-SoCal outpost of a chain that strives for a "superb sandwich & delicious salad" (and maybe even a soup) has been teasing me for months with its signage visible to all passing by Sunset Station. Soft opening weekend included several opportunities for the public to try their food on the house, so you know I was there a lot. They were passing out free mini chocolate chip cookies, which were really great. The browning, mix of textures, and chocolate intensity were all there. Unfortunately, the first entree which I tried veered a little sweet too. The seasonal Pastrami Tri Tip ($12.79 normally) sounded promising, and perhaps they were going for a Reuben, but there's a lot of sugar coming from the bread and butter pickles (which paradoxically did give slight relief), remoulade, and perhaps the apple slaw. The balsamic vinaigrette dressing of the mixed greens side salad did help a lot at least. I also was disappointed that the pastrami is very unevenly distributed. For one, you have to take small bites of different parts or else you'll end up with some bites being full of meat and some being bread-only. Also, it looks slightly disingenuous that they fan out the loaded sides to the edge of the to-go box, although the protein portion is reasonable if you even it out. Despite that, I would suggest going with a different sandwich if that's your mood. I had to edit and up my rating because I came back and did just that. Fortunately, I finally noticed that the Chimichurri Steak ($12.25 normally) was on the menu. It's pretty amazing, with a rich chimichurri and tender tri tip kissed by a light helping of sweet cranberry chutney aioli. It's the most exciting sandwich I've had in a long time, and I wonder if doubling up on protein would make it dinner-worthy and still delicious. On top of that, I learned that the dine-in side salad portion is at least twice as big as the takeout version, so I'll be making time to sit there in my future visits. I should add that I tried some of a friend's sandwiches too. The So Cal and Southwest ($10.95 each normally) are rather similar chicken recipes, with both avocado, pepper jack, and chipotle aioli. I did like the warm spicy kick in both tastes, but chicken is just a little boring for me. On my dinner visit, I had a hella California entree, the healthy yet filling Ahi Tuna Bowl ($13.50 normally). The accoutrements ran less sweet this time, with creamy ponzu and a soy sauce drizzle adding flavor and creaminess to the tuna and a healthy dose of edamame, cucumber, pickled radish, halved grape tomatoes, marinated kale. The whole grain rice was fun and came in sufficient quantity that I didn't need the complimentary, optional side of bread. I preferred this to the sandwich. I also got to try drinks, which do not include coffee because this is not that type of cafe. I needed something to tamper down the sugar of the Strawberry Yuzu Agua Fresca. It could be a reasonable choice if my entree were not so sweet, but it's just piling on. It does taste of strawberry and reminds me of a hint of yuzu. Some of that iced tea probably would have helped, and I confirmed on my return visit that it was unsweetened. Since they have lemonade too, I made an Arnold Palmer, which turned out flavorful and balanced. I also tasted the Dragon Fruit Agua Fresca, which seemed sweet as well but could be fun in the future; however, I didn't try any of the Batch Craft Soda offerings yet. Service was great. Everyone was very friendly! At lunch, a manager-looking gentleman made sure that I knew that I could get a free fountain drink and even got me a cup. At dinner, I was eyeing the mini cookies again and a different employee gave me two to take; I was alone, by the way. Welcome to the neighborhood, Urbane Cafe! If anyone's gonna be in Henderson tomorrow or Monday morning (or certain near-future dates for healthcare professionals and teachers, valid ID needed of course), definitely check them out for a free preview. We were introduced to Urbane cafe when they had a tent at the Henderson downtown Winterfest. The sandwiches were so delicious we had to stop by for winter break. Plenty of parking and they have a menu outside. They have kiosks inside to order food, or you can stop by the counter to be checked out. You are given a number and you find a place to sit. They have really comfy booths in the back near the bathrooms. The restaurant is a mix between a faster food café and a sit down restaurant. It has the convenience of ordering your food yourself and finding your own seat. What makes it more of a sit down place is the decor, people that work here and the comfy seating. The staff were super friendly from ordering food, to delivering food and even asking us if we enjoyed our food later. The warm and fresh focaccia bread is such a nice treat. Plus, they make it fresh all day long! We ordered 2 sandwiches (Turkey Bacon/Pesto Chicken) and an ahi tuna salad. I really liked the Batch brand sodas at the vending machines. This place was very delicious, and I was very surprised. The chicken was very juicy and the salad tasted very fresh. I asked for two things of dressing and I really only needed one. The salad and sandwich combo was a really good choice for me. The inside of the restaurant was very nice and had fresh cookies out on display where you could see them. It made it feel like a high end restaurant even though it may be considered fast food I am not sure. I will definitely be going back it was a pleasant experience. Was in the area during lunch time and was in the mood for something healthy and tasty. Never heard of this place before so we wanted to give it a try. Ordered one of their most popular sandwiches, Chimichurri steak, as well as the chicken pesto with sundried tomatoes. Love how each meal comes with a little salad. The sandwiches are made with FRESH focaccia bread! You can seem them making fresh bread inside of those little pizza brick ovens. I think that's what makes it truly tasty. This used to be my favorite spot when I was living in Oxnard, I'm glad they made their way to Henderson. My favorite is the turkey cranberries Brie. It's always my go to and it never disappoint. I was very fortunate to be able to attend this Yelp elite event along with my wife. Walking in the location is very bright and welcoming. You get greeted by the cashier upon entry and are able to see someone making the foccaccia bread fresh that you'll be eating. The menu has a wide variety of items to please any pallate. We chose the steak chimichurri and the chicken Bahn mi along with the baja enchilada and tomato soups. We received our food in a very timely 10 minutes from ordering. While waiting, we ventured to the fountain drink station and were surprised by craft sodas rather than your traditional large chain sodas. We sat down to enjoy our food and started off with the soups. The baja Enchilada was good and is just that, everything you would find in an Enchilada in a tomato soup base. 4 out of 5. The tomato bisque was delicious and creamy, 4 out of 5. The steak chimichurri was delicious, perfectly cooked and seasoned just right. The chicken Bahn mi reminded me of a traditional Vietnamese Bahn mi, filled with bold flavors. Definitely my favorite. This establishment is a definite 5 out of 5 in my book. Urbane Cafe sets itself apart from any other restaurant due to the fact that as soon as you enter, there are like 5+ people all welcoming you in. But more amazing than that is this whiff of freshly baked bread and cookies. Right by the register they are resting their freshly baked goods. Something about Urbane Cafe feels different. Most new places that open up have that extra staff to create more of a welcoming experience or larger portions than what will serve a few months down the line. I was feeling iffy about the bah mi sandwich but it was really good. Very flavorful and their sauce was soo good. It is a little pricey but of course it is fresh fish so very understandable. As a teacher, you usually get overlooked at times during celebrations and yet are also always the first they point the finger at. So when an establishment reaches out to support teachers, you can't help but embrace them! We received an email saying Urbane Cafe would be offering a free meal for teachers during their grand opening on November 1 and 2. Now we teach closer to the NW but we decided it was inviting enough to take advantage of the offer. We had to order online and use a promo code. The nice thing was that we were able to see what we wanted ahead of time and have it ready when we got there. The menu is fairly extensive with a nice variety of salads and sandwiches. The Californian sandwich really jumped out at me so that is what I ordered along with a side of focaccia bread. I also signed up for the rewards program to get a free chocolate chip cookie. When we got there, there was a big tent in front with promotional pamphlets. The entrance is actually right next to this little one way alley way (which we saw from the back entrance but were scared to use). Inside was very clean and bright and inviting and I think the owner or manager welcomed us as we came in. They have tablet kiosks to order and right next to it was a very crowded set of shelves with all of the online/to-go orders. It was fairly easy to find our stuff. My cookie was a separate order and I wasn't sure if it was in the same bag or separate but a nice gal went and grabbed one for me. We didn't get home until about 40 minutes later but the food was still in great shape. The bread was lightly warm, thick, and flavorful. The Californian was oozing with melted cheese and large chunks of artichoke hearts. The combination of flavors was a nice acidic balance along with the avocado, tomatoes and lettuce. Honestly the bread is just what put this sandwich over the top! For a side salad it was surprisingly full of flavor. It had mandarin oranges in it and mixed greens. The balsamic vinegar dressing was a powerful punch and the remaining tasted amazing on the focaccia. The chocolate chip cookie was also packed with chocolate chip goodness. I actually took just a corner and I could taste the richness. My husband and son finished the rest of it off pretty quickly. The only downside is that it is so far away from us but I would never take off stars for that. If they had a closer one that would really sell me!
