I was in downtown Ventura looking for a place to eat and saw there was an urbane cafe not that far up the road. Parking lot is small, but there is street parking if you can't find a spot. You can order with the cashier or on the self service comp they have. I opted for the cashier as I needed to mention I can't have the side of free bread as I'm GF and needed to make sure the bowl was safe to eat. I was here with family so they all got sandwiches that come with a side salad. Our food came out pretty quickly but there was fresh bread on my bowl that I did request to not have. They said they would remake it but it was easy enough to just remove from my bowl and I was fine, no crumbs were in the salad. After I was done eating, my sis noticed on the menu they have gf bread, I wish they mentioned it to me cause I could have enjoyed it on the side since I didn't realize it was on the menu (at the bottom in small writing). The menu all looks so amazing so I was excited to try this place. I had read online that they ordered gluten free bread as well, which is great. I ordered the ahi salad and asked to swap the focaccia that comes with it for gluten free bread. I was surprised for my total to be more than $17 and ended up going back to the counter because I looked at the me u again and the salad is only $13. The girl, Selena, just raised her eyebrows at me and said somewhat snarky, "Did you not get the gluten free bread?" I seriously cannot believe they would charge that much to substitute one kind of bread for another. The food itself is beautiful and delicious. Had the pleasure of visiting this new location for Ventura and it's in the perfect spot. On the corner, near the beach! There's inside and outside seating and a new kiosk ordering system so you can skip the line. This location also has wine and beer, that's the first I've seen in Urbane cafes! I can never get enough of the balsamic vinaigrette dressing for the salad and the focaccia bread. My go to is the Bella Portobello but I definitely want to try the new Poke one. We were able to order right away and our food came out shortly. It's nice and clean and the music was a vibe. Loved it. Will be back again. read more

This was the best Fresh and tasteful meal I've had in a very long time I usually eat out quite a bit breakfast and lunch. Mostly I came into urban Café they were so kind they were so attentive serve me quickly, and the food was just very very very good everything was fresh the bread was wonderful soft All the ingredients to make my sandwich were the freshest. I had a bacon and turkey sandwich with avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, purple onion, and a light sauce on the bread. It was so delicious. I also had their bisque tomato soup, which was the most tasteful fresh soup that I've had in a long time, I don't remember or can't I even think of a restaurant that comes close to that if sandwiches are not your thing they have others meals to offer and a great menu to choose from. It's very quiet, peaceful, and a wonderful getaway if you need to talk or just spend some private time with yourself no other place I'd rather go, their beautiful smiles, and their welcoming demeanor couldn't get any better. After scrolling on tik tok and Instagram I saw Urbanes content! I saw their new location in Ventura that I was excited to go to after going to the telephone location for 10 plus years I was excited to see this new location. Let me tell you it is breath taking in there, not only is it beyond clean and gorgeous the most inviting thing was the staff! Every employee was so nice smiling and instantly greeted me! The person who helped me was so nice and clear on what I wanted and they gave me their full attention. Not only was this employee beyond welcoming, all employees that were inside acknowledged and made me feel welcome! It has felt as if a lot of customer service has gone down since covid, yet this Urbane was not like others. All other customer service establishments should take notes from this Urbane because they are the bar! I can not say enough great things about the staff! Beyond the staff was the food, I mean come on you can never go wrong with Urbane they have such amazing, clean, and refreshing food!
